**Review of Bern's Steak House**My recent dining experience at Bern's Steak House in Tampa, Florida, was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, I was immersed in a culinary journey that exceeded all expectations.I began my evening with the Bern's Old-Fashioned Cocktail, which was expertly crafted and set the tone for the night. Accompanying my cocktail were half a dozen oysters from New Brunswick, Canada, served with a truffle mignonette that was simply out of this world. For my entrée, I indulged in a 14-ounce dry-aged prime Delmonico steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Bern's prides itself on dry-aging their steaks for 5 to 8 weeks, and each one is individually cut to order. The steak was complemented by a delightful French onion soup, a loaded baked potato, house salad with blue cheese dressing, green beans, and onion rings. Pair it with a 2021 ZD Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley. As Bern's describes their steaks: "Our steaks are cut by our butchers to order. If there is a specific cut or size you would prefer, please speak with your server. All of our dry-aged Strips, Delmonicos, Porterhouses, and T-bones are U.S.D.A. Prime. Those cuts are dry-aged in-house for 5-8 weeks, then charbroiled over natural hardwood lump charcoal. All steak entrées include: French onion soup, house salad, baked potato, onion rings, and the vegetable of the evening."After trying for a month to secure a reservation, I decided to try my luck and walked into the bar area. To my delight, I managed to get a seat despite the hour-and-a-half waitlist for the bar. Being solo has its perks! The bartenders were incredibly experienced and accommodating. They even made a reservation for me in the upstairs dessert room, where I looked forward to enjoying some fine Royal Tokaji wine.Following a fascinating tour of the kitchen and wine cellar, I ascended to the dessert room and settled into a cozy private booth. Here, I savored a glass of 2003 Hungarian late harvest Sauska Tokaji, Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos. For dessert, I couldn't resist the Baked Alaska, a flamboyant dessert prepared tableside with macadamia nut ice cream, vanilla cake, toasted meringue, and blended liqueurs. The history of Baked Alaska is intriguing, with its name celebrating the U.S. acquisition of Alaska from Russia in March 1867, though there is much debate over its exact origin. In summary, Bern's Steakhouse offers an unparalleled dining experience. From the impeccable service to the exceptional quality of food and drink, it's a place that deserves all the accolades it receives. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable meal in Tampa. #solotravel #nomad #finedining #foodporn #tampa #dessert #wine #steak

Was very excited to try Berns steak house since it's so hard to get a reservation. I believe the process of booking a reservation and the fee associated with it for canceling it is a tad too extra. We ordered a the dry aged porterhouse, roasted elk losin, Okinawa sweet potato puree and Chimichurri sauce. Everything tasted phenomenal! The meats were so tender you could cut through it with a spoon and the Okinawa sweet potato puree as well the Chimichurri sauce were godly!Customer service was also phenomenal. Our server was truly amazing. The guy was highly mannered and very well educated. Overall, our experience was a great one!

So we were really excited to check out this Tampa staple as many have told us you need to go to Bern's!!!! So we did last night and we were disappointed at the ok experience. As many have said, you want to sit in the dining room, make a res. I scored and got a 6:30p about 3 weeks out.We did like the bonuses when you order any kind of steak and what I mean by that is you get their French onion Soup, House Salad, veggie of the day, Onion Rings and a Baked Potato. Old school bonuses and we loved it versus the a la carte options these days at a Steakhouse. My soup was great and hearty. The salad was good but had waaaay too many things in the salad. You name the content of the salad and it was probably on there. Your usual lettuce, tomato then cucumber, avocado, shredded carrots, onions, etc. Too much!We both had 14oz steaks and I did the Dry-Aged T-Bone and it was good at medium rare. I say good because I like a little char but none was present. My wife did their Dry-Aged Delmonico and hers was def better than mine. Now the service. First, We ordered a bottle of Brunello and before any tasting, it was poured into a decanter then a tasting was offered. What if we didn't like it?? Then I had to ask to get my area cleared of crumbs. Sorry this is not a $100 meal and with this kind of restaurant it should be done automatically. Lastly, the shoe situation. On their website, on the reservation and when I was called to confirm the reservation, I was told about the dress code. I get the button up, no shorts and jacket optional but my biggest beef is the "athletic" shoe ban. As seen in the pics, there were some athletic shoes in the dining room and I saw some dude with Birkenstocks. C'mon. I got the vibe that the core customers are those who have been coming here for years. If you want a cool, hip, modern steakhouse, do not come here.We tried it and now we know. Valet Parking is available

Came for the dessert room and 10/10 would recommend! Our server was stellar and the experience was unforgettable. Make sure to go on a tour of the kitchen and wine cellar while you are here to get the full experience! I look forward to returning for dinner and dining in one of their 87 dining rooms! The French onion soup is apparently one of their specialties!

Bern's has been on my list since I lived in Raleigh and the manager at Angus Barn recommended it to me. I love old school steakhouses, so it was a must visit for my 30th birthday celebration this year. First you must know that reservations are required and go quickly. I snagged a reservation for dinner for 2, months in advance after staying up til midnight the night they opened ressy's for my chosen date. Now that you know this, plan your night around your visit. Not only is there so much square footage to explore, the tours of the kitchen, the wine tour, the dessert room, it's all part of the experience you don't want to miss out on because you're rushing out of there. The decor is eclectic but classic at the same time. There is so much art and history to enjoy here. The lobby and bar are bustling with people enjoying chit chat before being guided to their table. I truly saw all ages celebrating here, which speaks to Bern's as a gathering place. I love it. Our meal was spectacular old steakhouse gourmet. Every ingredient of the highest quality and prepared with care, but not fussy. The wine list itself is massive so go in with a plan. I wanted a bottle from my birth year and found one reasonably priced for under $100. Perfect! My favorite parts of the meal were the salad (I know, it doesn't sound exciting but the vegetables were SO fresh and icy, it was the perfect starter), the French onion soup overflowing with cheese and hot broth, and our Chateaubriand steak perfectly cooked and perfect for sharing. Yes, you can share steaks here and each get your own starters and sides. They were very accommodating. We also ordered a cheese plate that was truly incredible, gosh this was some of the best cheese I've had in my life! After dinner and the tours we headed to the dessert room where our table was ready and waiting for us. The decor in the dessert room is so unique and classy, it's indescribable. You just have to go see for yourself. We enjoyed espresso martinis and the Vintage Chocolate Lush Sundae which is a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and hot fudge. Soooo delicious and classic. We made requests of the pianist for a few songs and chatted with our server about where to go for a nightcap. Thank you Bern's restaurant and staff for the most wonderful 30th birthday I could have asked for. You guys have a wonderful establishment that I hope to return to with family and friends. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique but classic experience with amazing food and drinks.

We celebrated my son's 18th birthday at Bern's. It was my boys' first time and we had a great experience. Waited in the lobby for our table. The waitress seemed to miss us when she asked if anyone wanted drinks. Not sure why Eventually we were seated and ordered the following:For my two boys, since it was their first they ordered the taste of Berns. Great way to taste the difference cuts and taste of steaks My hubby had the delmonico and I had the chateaubriand. French onion soup, potatoes and house salads came with main dish. Our waiter was very nice and was not trying to upsell appetizers since it was a lot of food. But we did order the oysters. Great service! Finally the walk to the dessert room. Banana fosters, creme brulee and sundae to finish this birthday celebration

Came here for a friend date and the ambiance was very nice and romantic. My table ordered a seafood tower which was prepared very well. The seafood was very fresh. I accidentally ingested a whole bowl of horseradish which practically burnt my lips off but it was a lesson learned. The bird I ordered was nice and crispy and well made. Well seasoned. The waitstaff was attentive. Polite and knowledgeable. It's definitely a place to go to celebrate a birthday. Anniversary is a nice date on the town with a special someone.

I was lucky to get reservations in the main dining area. They are usually booked months out and I was on the waitlist. However, the moment my plane landed I checked and something was available later that night. I was pleasantly pleased from the start! My server, Will, didn't miss a beat. He was extremely attentive, gave the best recommendations, and provided information on the restaurant's history. My wine cellar tour, restaurant tour, and dessert room reservation was made at the start of my dinner. The artwork on the walls were original photographs the founder, Bert, took during his world travels. The chandeliers and other furnishing were pieces he and his wife purchased at estate sales around the world. I ordered the black garlic and cognac strip steak. It was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. It can with a salad, the most amazing French Onion soup, a loaded baked potato, green beans, and fried onion strings. For dessert I got the Vintage Chocolate Lush Sundae and ordered extra Macadamia nut ice cream! It was magical!! The fudge that comes with the sundae is out of this world! There so much charm to this restaurant. It has a very rich history and there's pictures and artwork on all the walls to prove it! The kitchen and wine cellar tours were very cool! Every seating space in the dessert room is like its own little private dining area. I was dining solo and my little cubicle was big enough for two people. It was such an upscale and elevated experience! I could come here again and again!! They have truly earned the title of one of the Best Steakhouses in the World!
