Basil's Flame Broiled Chicken & Ribs

We've been coming to Basil's for over 30 years. There are a few locations in Bradenton and 1 in Sarasota and over the thousands of times we've eaten at Basil's, I would say there are only a few times where maybe the chicken was dry or we were not satisfied. It is a great family owned local restaurant with flavorful flame broiled chicken and the sides are great. I always get Mashed potatoes and gravy and hubby always gets Mac n Cheese. He loves the chicken salad on a pita.

This place is a hidden little gem of deliciousness!! The chicken is amazing but you absolutely have to try the chicken pot pie. Literally the best pot pie I have ever had!!!

Healthy, fast, reasonably priced and the owner seems to live at the restaurant. Respect for the work ethic I see at Basil's!

Just walked in from Cahoots and grabbed a BBQ chicken wrap...delicious.....Basil's is always good..first time at this location

WOW, the chicken is the best in town! I eat at Basil's at least once or twice a week. Great food for my keto diet too. They have great specials and are always willing to accommodate. They family owned and run restaurant makes you feel welcomed like family. They are not just chicken but have awesome ribs and gyros too. Give Basil's a try you will definitely be hooked!

Salad - it is ONLY Iceberg Lettuce (the cheapest lettuce in the world) & chicken meat on the top. ONLY Iceberg Lettuce, no crouton, tomato, onion, cucumber, cheese, NOTHING else but Iceberg Lettuce & chicken on top. That's crazy. I noticed that back in 2016, I reviewed this restaurant & had this same thing happen, so since 2016, they have NOT changed the salad.Oh, the chicken on the salad was so dry. I popped a piece of chicken in my mouth before sitting down to eat my lettuce and I could hardly swallow it. Flavor was fine but it was dry as a bone.DON"T BOTHER with it. You can buy a head of iceberg lettuce very cheaply, open a can of white chunk chicken meat, drain the chicken & put it on top of your iceberg lettuce - done!Your homemade salad will not be dry and just think, you now have the opportunity to actually make it a 'real salad' by throwing in some of your favs like black olives (my personal fav).This menu item should not be identified as a salad. Very sad I made this discovery in '16, forgot & ordered it again in '18.

Extremely kind people with great service. Very quick every single time i order never had anything i didn't like.

Showed up 40 minutes before close. Employee looked like he saw a ghost when i asked if they were still open. Then he gave me a very rude "just telling you right now I have no grilled chicken." First and last time.

I read some good reviews about Basil's and have always wanted to try the chicken. I finally convinced my wife to accompany me there for dinner.The first sign of upcoming disappointment was the lack of people in the establishment, the next was mounds of cooked chicken just waiting on the grill.My wife ordered a three piece chicken meal with corn and macaroni & cheese for the sides. I ordered the half chicken meal with Spanish rice and fresh vegetables for my sides. The main host was very friendly and explained all of the menu choices. The rest of the personnel were pleasant and accommodating.The chicken was the driest chicken that I've ever had in my life. My wife agreed. The Actual flavor of the chicken was pretty bland. It's sad that the best part of the meal was the sides. The Spanish rice was tasty with nice pieces of onion in it. The pita included was moist and fresh. The broccoli, although bland was cooked perfectly. My wife had similar thoughts about her sides.Having enjoyed rotisserie chicken at a local chain, Perhaps my wife and I were spoiled for tasty, well-seasoned, moist chicken. Unfortunately, Basil's did not live up to their hype. We will never go to Basil's again.

Bizarrely tiny portion. There's no pig on earth with ribs this small. Pretty disappointing. Literally a few spoonfuls for around $15...
