Saturday was the Gasparilla children's parade in Tampa. Bayshore Boulevard is closed to traffic so my husband and I had to walk on the street because that never happens. We walked 2 miles down Bayshore and wanted to try out this new restaurant. The hostess was very gracious and so sweet, and sat us at a great table outside. (Very good people watching by the way.) it was a beautiful day, a little chilly, but the sun was out so that was perfect. Our waiter greeted us, explained the menu and was very knowledgeable with his descriptions of the menu and to the questions we had. I started with the Catalan Gintonic and my husband had a beer.We started out with the Aperitivo board, which our server recommended- it had two meats, two cheeses, some pickled vegetables, almonds, olives...a very nice assortment of Spanish snacks. We proceeded to order the Hummus, Olive Oil Pancakes, Albondigas, and the Jamón and Manchego Croquetas. It was all very tasty, but I have to say, we loved the Croquetas!!! It was a great experience and we will definitely be back. They have lots of hot and cold tapas to choose from and I believe they have 6-8 large plates...something to satisfy all types of cravings and hunger!

This is such a trendy and vibrant location. Loved the indoor outdoor seating. They accommodated our lager party of 9 well, with some of our guest showing up later than expected. I don't eat pork and a few of us had some food allergies. Our wait staff noted the items on the menu for us and alternatives to certain items if we wanted to try them, which I thought was great. We ordered a bunch of tapas since we didn't plan to be there very long. My favorite was the crispy brussels sprouts. It's so flavorful, well cooked, and has a nice spice to them. Highly recommend ordering it. The cheeses from the charcuterie section are absolutely delicious paired with their bread. Would definitely dine again to try their wine flights, large plates, and desserts.

I'm a little late with my review as I went here in December for my birthday after hearing fun feedback from friends who had visited. Good: waitstaff, bartenders and hostesses are all fantastic! Our waitress (apologies if there is a more modern title) was truly a gem. she explained the menu servings, made suggestions and gave us the perfect amt of attention. We were a party of 3 and ordered several dishes from the menu to get a good feel on different flavors etc. Each dish was yummy. The drinks were good and they offered tasters to make sure we liked before we pd for a full glass. Parking: seamlessAmbiance: fun. think a smaller scale of Union. I heard there are times when the bartenders make the vibe amped up but that wasn't on my night. Needing focus:The stools are tiny. Not every woman is a size 0 with small butt. Consideration should be made for more comfortable stools. Maybe with backs for ease of staying put. I mean there's no padding on the stools and yea not comfortable. Music and lighting. in the bar area way too dark. the candles on the tables were ambiance vs seeing the food. In all honesty i won't say anything on the music because its been a couple of mths and since i don't have a suggestion my initial impression wore off. Dining Room: it wasn't clear why we couldn't sit in the dining room when we asked. We did have reservation and saw folks there. We were told something to the effect of it's not open. hmmn. I'll be back.

We saw this place when driving nearby, I love the location next to bayshore. It was busy on a Friday night but the ambiance with the music and crowd was just right. Once seated we started with tapas that came out quickly. It was a delight, we had the aperitivo board and the patatas bravas included were a flavor explosion that I loved to eat. My husband let them know it was our anniversary and they surprised us with a dessert board where the flavors were just as powerful as the rest of the menu. I did not how much I would love the olive oil cake but now I'm a huge fan of its moist taste. Can't wait to return and get to know the whole menu.

This is a loud but attractive place to have a nice glass of wine.My husband and I went for a date night. We made reservations through the restaurant website, and the table was ready when we arrived. The wine list is impressive. There's the "standard" wine list on the backside of the paper menu, and then there's the more impressive wine list inside the leather binder. We got a lovely 2011 Rioja. Our server was well-versed on the Spanish wines. She mentioned that on Mondays, all wine bottles are 50% off. If that's true (I've been to restaurants where they place a limit on the price of bottles that qualify for the discount), that's amazing. We opted to order a smattering of tapas rather than do a large plate. We ordered: three wine/cheese (Serrano, Fuet, and Manchego), the Jamon Mangalica, the broccolini, the croquetas, the tortilla, the pork belly, the pulpo, and the gambas. The charcuterie was very good quality (and excellent with the wine). I think I would have preferred the broccolini with a lighter vinaigrette (maybe citrus/chili?) as the truffle cream felt oily. I liked the tortilla, although it was light on the egg. I liked the shrimp and the pork belly, but my husband thought the pork belly was fishy and reminded him of tuna. We did not like the octopus, and I wish they haven't changed it to be served with potatoes. I wish they'd kept beans as the accompaniment. We were stuffed at the end of this feast, so we ordered the cheesecake and olive oil cake to go. We tried both the next day, and they were both tasty.Parking is pretty much only valet, unless you find a unicorn street spot.

Great place! We've been throughout Spain 4 or 5 times and this is the closest we've experienced here in Tampa. For tapas, the patatas bravas, bikini, pulpo, and garlic shrimp are done expertly!Great service that is fast and knowledgeable. Great wine selection. Fun atmosphere. Prices are on par and reasonable. Outside and indoor seating abound. Great bar area. The only minor inconvenience, parking is mostly valet but you might get lucky in the area on side streets. We've been here a couple times now and will definitely be coming back.

Outstanding place. In the perfect location, amazing lively ambience and a huge bar with plenty of seats. We managed to snag 2 bar seats at happy hour time on Valentines Day. Tygra drink was unique and delicious but star of the show was their gin & tonic. Highly recommend. For food, we only tried the meatballs and focaccia -- both solid 9/10 with delicious flavor. Recommend getting both together so you can dip the bread in their red sauce! Lastly, only positives for their bar staff. Friendly and fast. We're both excited to come back and try some more of their menu!!

I've been to Barcelona in the Atlanta location, so I was thrilled to see them open one in Tampa--especially in Bayshore, which really needed a spot like this! The menu offers an incredible variety of tapas, and the wine selection is impressive, with nearly 400 options to choose from. Every dish we tried was amazing, but the must-haves for me are the paella (~40-mins to make), octopus, short ribs, and NY Strip. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. What I ordered:- Charcuterie & cheese- EGGPLANT CAPONATA: Bell Peppers, Balsamic, Basil- RED SNAPPER CRUDO*: Blood Orange, aleppo pepper- Pork belly: Spicy Membrillo- Grilled pulpo: Peewee Potatoes, Chimichurri- Paella Salvaje: Sausage, Chicken, Chorizo, Pork Belly, Chickpeas, Short Rib- Chocolate Cake: Coffee Crème Anglaise, Almond Crumble- BASQUE BURNT CHEESECAKE: Orange Mermelada

I had heard amazing things about this place and was really excited to visit. However, I think the fact that we were such a large group might have impacted the experience, as it didn't fully meet my expectations. The atmosphere is fantastic, although the music inside the restaurant was a bit too loud that day. I would have preferred to sit outside. As for the service, the waitstaff was very attentive, and we had two servers assigned to our table due to its size, which was appreciated. That said, food and drinks took a while to arrive because the food runners made several mistakes, delivering the wrong orders to the wrong tables. Now, about the food: absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh, with perfectly balanced flavors and top-notch quality. I'd give it a solid 10/10. The tapas are definitely the highlight of the menu, and my favorite was the ham and manchego croquettes.I'll definitely be back, this time with my boyfriend, to give it another chance. I'm confident this restaurant has the potential to deliver a 5 stars experience.

Our reservation was at 8:30 and the place was packed. We didn't get seated until after 9 o'clock. We didn't complain, we didn't make a scene. We were just hanging out waiting. The managers and servers made us forget all about that wait as soon as we sat down. They brought over complementary charcuterie, complementary cheese, bread, patatas bravas, mushrooms... throughout the night they just kept bringing us stuff. The hospitality was incredible. They went above and beyond. I took photos of the first couple of items after we already started eating them. We were having such a good time. I didn't take other photos. The food is fantastic. You have to just go here and try it for yourself. We will definitely be back!Thank you!
