Avon Park Diner

The food was good. Didn't have to wait a long period of time for the food to come to us and the food was indeed hot service was good and the price was reasonable for what we got. The place has a tenant to be extremely crowded but they have broom and they do Only allow so many people in the building at a given time only drawback I saw they need to get more seating room for people waiting outside.

Drop in at the Avon Park dinner for some breakfast and I got some good ole fashioned southern style breakfast that was good. The service was excellent and we were in and out just before the church crowd started rolling in...

I was 1st to review these fine folks' way back in 2018. I've visited here dozens of times and had lunch today. I'm a little worried!It's a big casual place and spotless as always. Floor, tables, chairs, everything immaculate.It was busy but my greeter had a big friendly smile and immediately showed me to my table. As usual my waitress was efficient and awesome. In this joint you pay a cashier when you leave and mine cashed me out quickly and with a smile. Sooooo, customer service was great all around.They have a massive diner menu but also a single sheet of daily specials and Baked Meatloaf was on that sheet for $13.75. It came with two sides, and I went with mashed potatoes and fried okra, and it was out quickly.So why am I worried. Take a look at my picture. It looked, well, processed. Like it came out of some machine. It certainly didn't look homemade. For those who know their way around food a bit, it looked like in might have come from a Sysco, vacuum-packed plastic sleeve. The meatloaf slices were just too perfect! The mashed potatoes consistency also looked processed. If it was on a cheap tray instead of a nice plate, some kind of institution maybe. Unfortunately, it had that processed taste. It was hot but it had that processed blandness that was not a good thing. Like something a patient might get in a low-end nursing home! It was edible but not enjoyable!This has always been a four- or five-star place for me but this time I'm dropping down to three stars and that's being generous. I'll be back to check if it was maybe an aberration. I hope so!

Have breakfast here pretty regularly, sausage and biscuits, pancakes and eggs. Hash browns eggs and bacon. What ever you order, service is fast and pleasant, food is hot and fresh and the coffee keepscoming. Great prices and always filled with friendly folks. Sunday church crowd is very busy!!!!

I would honestly just not go here. Had a terrible experience today. I'm not from the area and really wanted a diner experience I guess I got it.

Food was awesome, service great. Always come by here for a quick breakfast and they never disappoint.

Food was AMAZING!!! Grits are the next in highlands county. Made fresh!!!! Delicious!!!

I always get the BLT no matter the time of day. I call them the best BLTS in town. We also get the waffles with strawberries. Which he enjoys alot . They waitresses are on point and very friendly always a come back check at the table to see how everything is. Dave and I make a point in stopping in at different times of the day and when we are able to. 100% Kudos to the owner and staff. Very clean pleasant restaurant with plenty of parking.

Party of 6 on 8/30/2024Food is on point and service was even better! 6 different meals and everyone was pleased. A must try local restaurant. And one of the cleanest restaurants I've visited.

This food is usually good. I went there on 10/30/24 and ordered a western omlet. It was dried up, no cheese and little in it. It was horrible. I asked for the manager. He did not care and would not discount the bill. Their quality is declining. I will never go there again. Never in my life have I had a manager who would not do nothing. I hope they cease to exist soon. .
