Anthony's New York Style Pizza

I grew up in South Florida, where there is an abundance of really good NY-style pizza places. But upon moving to Tampa, that's the one thing I found lacking here. So when my husband and I were in the area and pretty hungry, I searched for a quick place to grab a bite to eat, and Anthony's showed up.When we walked in, we saw the massive size of their slices, and each ordered one (plus a slice of Sicilian to split). They brought out our slices on individual-sized pizza trays, and that's when it hit home just how huge these things are -- these were bigger than the size of my head. We happily dug in, and really enjoyed our slices - great cheese-to-sauce ratio and great crust flavor (also, it was thin but not TOO thin).Meanwhile, the Sicilian was fine, but the cheese was barely melted and it was just lukewarm -- if I were to order that again, I'd ask specifically for the Sicilian slice to be well-done. I think it would've been a lot better that way.In the weeks since our visit, my husband has asked me no less than three times if I've reviewed the place yet, because he wanted to make sure they got a good review. We've gone plenty of places where he has never done that, so that tells you he really enjoyed this place!

I was wondering why the box was so big... was there other things inside? Bell pepper, napkins? Nope, it's all pizza. Such a gigantic slice for 5 bucks. Tastes great too. Not sure why there are bad reviews but I saw other pictures of other foods... maybe those foods aren't as good but at least the pizza is a great deal. It's like a personal pizza, why is it so huge??

In the 3 years I've lived near this pizzeria, I have not had a single bad experience. They are away happy and cheerful. The pizza is always delicious and I never have had to wait extra time. As a matter of fact, the owner was really sweet when I met him. Their garlic parm wings are pretty awesome but they have the best dessert. Try the funnel fries!!!

I phoned in my order for Anthony's New York Style Pizza. It was my first time trying them and my decision was made out of sheer convenience because they were along my path. The guy that took my order was short with me, but he did get the order right. New York style, right? I tried using a coupon that was pictured in a Yelp photo, but was informed that it had expired. He did not offer me a similar deal.No matter where I go for pizza, my family is always consistent. I ordered my standard half cheese/half pepperoni pizza, along with an order of garlic knots and some chicken tenders.By the time that I arrived, my order was just being boxed, so the timing was perfect. The restaurant was clean and inviting, but that is the last that I can say good about Anthony's. The pizza was not completely cooked and the dough was paper-thin; a tell-tale sign of under-proofed dough. Maybe they forgot the yeast when they made the dough. The sauce was cheap and flavorless like it came straight from the can. The cheese was not Grandé, and that alone is a sin for NY styled pizza. The meats were skimpy, which was just as well because the pepperoni tasted like the Hormel brand that is available at Publix. It left the pizza extremely greasy. The chicken tenders obviously came straight from a box and went directly in to the microwave. The garlic knots were cold and hard; the dipping marinara sauce may as well have been catsup since it was completely void of any spices or flavor.The only reason that I gave Anthony's two stars instead of one was for the cleanliness of their restaurant. Maybe I caught then on a bad night, but life is too short for bad pizza. New coupons are included in my photos, but don't say that I didn't warn you when you find yourself disappointed.

Consistently good quality pizza, authentic New York style, and professional staff with a local family-run vibe :) I highly recommend you stop by-they also have huge single slice pizzas if you're craving some Za for lunch, and the pizza still tastes amazing the day after if you have leftovers

Very good slices and huge! Place was clean and friendly and I got to think it was Anthony who came over to thank us for coming in. He was a very sweet older gentleman, who was as nice as could be.If the pizza sucked, I'd still come back regularly for the hospitality. But the pizza was awesome!!!

Got pizza, pasta & boneless wings. Pizza was decent, pasta had mostly dry noodles & not much sauce but it's ok. Boneless wings were ehh- they taste how they look. Ranch is $1 each for a 2 oz ramekin. I would only recommend the pizza if you eat here.

I ordered baked ziti and this is what I got! Just horrible! The noodles were dried out and looked old! The sauce on the bottom was orange and just gross!

Ordered a pizza. Asked for plates, which is all apparently a big deal with this place. No plates. Ok, no problem. I asked for a box or something for my kids to put their pizza on. The gentleman behind the counter was so confused. When I questioned their procedures, I was called "angry." Hmmmm. I guess all Black women who ask for plates are angry. Never again will these people earn my business. The disrespect isn't worth the mediocre pizza. I have more class than that. They also sent me this "You are a horrible person to fucking play the racis card I'm black working here he is not racis this is what is wrong with world people like you and you wonder why we are mis treated you make me sick enjoy the rest of your day "
