Ana's Mexican Restaurant

Stopped by for lunch not to long ago. I thought I heard her say to me "mi hijo" when she dropped off my food. My heart is so warm and it's a must, today, that I let y'all know that you need to eat food from mi abuela!! She makes her own tortillas and I can honestly say, that of I close my eyes, I can feel Mexico City.

An authentic Mexican Restaurant and the food is all made from scratch by Ana. She's been listed in the Tampa Newspaper for her food. She's been in the area a long time and many locals come here. When in the area my family has come here for a long time.

Service is not good....waste of my time n moneyWill not come here.....I understand why the restaurant was so dead for lunch time

Don't let the appearance fool you. If you like Mexican food this is a must try. Absolutely awesome and cheap. Two adult men ate a great lunch with a good tip for 21$. Everything is home made, chips are hot and fresh l, so are tortillas. There's nothing there that I've tried that was not amazing. Staff is nice and friendly too. If I'm ever in the area, this is where I'm going. Indoor and outdoor seating.It's cash only so plan accordingly.

Great quesadillas...my wife likes the eggs rancheros. The owner , Ana, is a great person and always aims to please her customers. Help support a local woman owned business...

Five stars because the food is Mexican. Not some strange Florida way of making it. Good and plenty. Praise the Lord.

Ana's is one of many Mexican restaurants in a small town with lots of agricultural workers. It's probably authentic, but that wouldn't make it unusual in Wimauma.What makes it stand out for us is the eponymous Ana, a woman of great charm who is willing to describe her menu with infinite patience. I believe that Ana's would best be described as a dive, which we think may have been a 1930's gas station. We chose to eat outside, at one of two tables under a roof that may once have sheltered gas pumps, or maybe not. We ordered chile rillenos and a combo platter which had a quesadilla, burrito, enchilada, and a taco. The portions were not huge, but we did not leave hungry. In our experience, the chile rillenos were unusual, almost like an omelette. With absolutely no proof, we guessed that this was how they were made in Ana's ancestral village.The last time I encountered an eatery like Ana's was in California's Central Valley. I find the simplicity and courtesy appealing.

Do you like it when you enter a restaurant and are overwhelmed by bleach and acid fumes? Do you like it when you are served tortilla chips that are thick and hard and greasy?Do you like it when your food is brought to you and then you have to get up in order to get yourself some silverware b/c the waittress never brought any (and meanwhile your food is getting cold)?Do you like it when you order a taco and the meat fillings are dry and tasteless? If so, immediately stop what you are doing and go to Ana's. (When you get there you will find a restaurant full of elderly white men whose taste buds and standards have certainly gone by the wayside.)If you don't like any of this, AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!

Food is amazingly authentic Mexican and delicious. "Cheers" type atmosphere is free. There are fancier places but none as good as Ana's for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
