We have been dying to try this place since we moved here. Today we tried and will most likely not return. Pros: Staff was very friendly, although the counter style service is meh. The sausage was amazing. Unsweetened tea was good, as well as potato salad and beans.Cons: the ribs were very large, tender and had a great smoke flavor but that's it. They were pretty fatty, although still had a decent amount of meat. But there was no real flavor to the meat other than the "smoke". The brisket was tender also but flavorless. I tried both sauces. Both taste very ketchup based with the Hot just being super spicy. I mixed the sausage and brisket together to eat so it would help the brisket. The location is great and in walking distance in Ybor, from the trolly or locals. Little house like place with two tvs on. One playing sports while the other was playing some Jerry Springer style lame drama, and was plenty loud for us to hear.Overall, very disappointed. The Smoker was going and gave us high hopes but lack of flavor made for a very dull meal.

It's sad that I've worked in ybor city for almost 20 years & never got a chance to check this spot out. I'm glad I finally stopped by for lunch. I wanted to try the mac & cheese but that is only a Friday special...I will be back! The black eyed peas with the ham in it was a plus & very delicious! The baked beans are sweet just like I like it & made me fall in love. Al's son gave me a generous portion of the potato salad to try as a courtesy in a medium sized container. That let's me know they care about their customer service. Food came fast & was not a long wait like some other establishments. I felt lime I was home with my family & them.... very nice southern ambiance & friendly atmosphere. Thank you & I am definitely a satisfied customer!

Best service best bbq! Don't let the place fool you we were driving and wanted bbq it was off the hook insane great !!! The people inside serving make it like a family house!!!! Try the desserts! Finger licking lip smacking!!!

Collard greens were good and spicy. Macaroni and Cheese was very good. The combination of smoked sausage and pulled pork was good and savory. The BBQ sauce was tangy and flavorful. Love the authentic ambience.

Definitely give this place a try the next time you want some finger lickin' good BBQ. The service and atmosphere are welcoming. I'll have to come back on a Friday for the Mac & Cheese.

4++ this place felt like an old school, straightforward, barbecue and soul food place that has great food at really reasonable prices. The folks here that you order from were super friendly as well. When we went, the vibe here was pretty chill, but I think we got there right before they closed. I ordered the ribs with baked beans and collard greens. It was a full meal that came with some bread and sauce. And seriously, I was surprised at the amount of food you get here for the price. One of the best values I've seen in Tampa if not anywhere, especially for some quality barbecue. Me and a couple friends we're just getting out of a beer festival hosted by a brewery known for their really heavy high abv high adjunct stouts. When the event was done - and after putting our stomachs through some abuse - we thought it would be wise to get something substantial to eat. This place came up on our search, and boy did it hit the spot. If I lived in the area, this place would definitely be on my rotation. Especially if I was craving some delicious, reasonably priced barbecue.

Casual dining. Delicious everything from the smoked meats to the sides. Service quick.

Hands down the best BBQ I've ever had in my life! Same to be said about the potato salad, okra & tomatoes, corn bread, Mac n cheese and black eyes. The mild sauce is also a 100000000/10. LOVE THIS PLACE.
