5 de Mayo Bakery

We have lived in LA and Denver- and have enjoyed great Mexican food. The tamales at 5 de Mayo are the best we've EVER eaten.This little bakery is a a real find. The pineapple tres leches cake is amazing. Great people- the best food. Love. Love. Love.

Whenever I go to pick up their amazing flan or impossible cake or the tres leches I also have to pick up one of their chorizos potato pastry (sell out fast). It is so delicious and it's only $3. Great fast and friendly service.

Great tortillas, tamales and concha bread. I have been twice and will be back soon. Much love to the bakers and makers.

After a nice walk through Largo Park enjoying the holiday light display, we wanted a dessert. This is a little store with baked goods and desserts. There were plenty of options and I'm sure everyone could find something they like. My brother enjoyed his tasty cannoli. My daughter really liked the oreo trifle (?) in a cup. The images are what made it home. The xake was moist, crumbly with just the right amount of sweetness. The gelatin was yummy.

A M A Z I N G. I live in Tampa and came here just for the bakery I found on Yelp. I was so happy that the reviews lived up to my expectation. Fresh conchas and fresh pan/buñuelos. The cakes all looked amazing and definitely would go back to get some pastries. They had fresh tortillas ready to go. I even scored some tamales before checking out. I'm definitely going back!

Delicious bakery with all my favorites. The cheese & green chilli enchiladas are exceptional.

Sorry, I tried to like their tamales but they had no flavor. Got the molé- no good deep molé flavor, and green chile with chicken- salsa dripping out of corn husk leaving masa all wet and absolutely NO sabor! Moist masa is good, but not that!Maybe the chef had a bad day??

went to buy some tortillas for tacos and then when I went to pay I gave them $10 and the total was $3.38 and then it said the amount of change they were supposed to give me was $6.62 BUT THEN the cashier ONLY gave me 62 cents! this Also happened in other previous visits.The lady also left after she closed the cash register, PAY ATTENTION TO THE CHANGE PEOPLE!!!

This place is a scam. They told me the tres leches cake for 40-50 people is a 16 inch cake and will be $83. I explained the design and send a photo and they said everything will be $83 but then after she took my order, they called back and said it would be an extra $10 to add four bows to the cake. When I got the cake not only the cake was smaller than they said, the bows also were made from thin balloon string not ribbon which is what we had agreed to. I paid either way because the people were rude and pushy and I just wanted to go home because I had already driven an hour and a half to get there. When my mom sees the cake she went back inside and asked if they could at least give me the $10 back because it had not been what we agreed to. They said no and didn't give me anything back. I explained I drove an hour and a half just to get the cake and they didn't do what they agreed to but they didn't care at all. I ended up making the bows myself with real ribbon and they kept my money. The owner was extremely rude on the phone and wouldn't refund us any money at all. When I got home I measured the cake and sure enough it was only 9inches instead of 16 inches around. I will never ever go back. This place is 100% a scam.
