For some reason, my review didn't post from approx six months ago.My wife and I had heard good reviews from the neighborhood, so we thought we'd give them a go.Conveniently located around the corner from our place. This was our FIRST time trying Tamashii Ramen. And definitely our LAST!!The place only had two employees. One for front of the house, and one for back of the house.Zero ambiance, just a couple tables for two, nothing special. We both ordered the pork belly ramen, sorry I don't remember the exact name on the menu, but the price was $16 PER BOWL!! The bowls weren't very big. Each bowl had 3 very small PAPER THIN slices of pork, a few slivers of cabbage, mushrooms, a couple chopped green onions & an egg. The broth was COMPLETELY BLAND!! And the noodles under cooked. For what we received, I could have gone to Aldi, picked up 2 packs of ramen noodles, pork, green onions, cabbage & mushrooms for well under $10., and made it the meal we were expecting!!It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't buy the prepackaged noodles at Aldi. They definitely weren't homemade!! They are definitely OVERRATED and OVERPRICED!!To sum up my review, they are basically a fast food place for ramen, adding a few ingredients, and CHARGING fine dining prices!!

This is from takeout experience but wow was this good! We live a mile away so we got the food pretty fresh. But this has to be the best takeout ramen I've had yet! Great size and great price. I got the spicy tonkatsu ramen spicy level 2 and it was really good! My partner got the chicken ramen and they loved it. It's awesome service that they give us bowls to put those in because we didn't have deep enough bowls at home and this was great. And the sweet and sour karaage? BOMB. They're so good. Best sweet and sour karaage I've had. The sauce was so good! Can't wait to come back!

Been here before and it was fantastic. Today? Deeply disappointing.Server was kind of rude, didn't use paper or anything to take my order. I was going to order a custom bowl but out of fear of this surly server fucking it up, I got the "grand tonkotsu" ramen.Bland tonkotsu is more like it. Weak broth and noodles that felt undercooked.I'm not one to waste food but I was half tempted to send it back.Three stars because the last 3 times I've been here were genuinely great. This may have been a bummer night or sign this place is goinf down the tubes

The one star is because I have to. I never received my order so I never got to try the food. I called and asked the situation be rectified and was told no.They don't care about customers. And they kept my money for the missing food so I had to file a charge back on my credit card against them Don't waste your time. Plenty of other Ramen in Chicago.

I'm so happy there is great Ramen in Edgewater. Located conveniently under the Granville red line stop, this restaurant is small inside but offers both indoor dining and carry out options. Staff were kind, food came out quickly, and their menu is super extensive. There is a great combination of different cuisines, but also some safer choices for picky eaters such as rice bowls and yakisoba. We had three different kinds of ramen (pork belly and chicken varieties) and the steak yakisoba. The steak was cooked so perfectly and you get a very generous portion for the price. The ramen was absolutely delicious and all of their ramen are pretty much completely customizable. They have set bowls that you can order, but they also have a create your own version, which is really nice if you want to make everything to your liking. The broth was delicious, vegetables and proteins were cooked to perfection, and I want a bowl of their ajitsuke tamago (ramen eggs) alone. I cannot wait to come back and I am hopeful this will be around for a long time!

Tamashii Ramen is located conveniently right off a Red Line stop, and is walking distance from the Loyola Chicago campus. There about 10 tables inside to eat in, or you can take-out. Especially on a cold day, this is a great place to come! The ramen bowls are large and a really filling portion for about $14. They do not skimp on the meat or toppings, although the broth definitely could have been a little stronger or more flavorful. Our ramen was ready in 6 minutes which was super fast!

Wonderful neighborhood new Ramen place! Efficient, friendly staff, fast service, and the Ramen is delicious and first rate. I've been back four times so far. Love this place!Don't believe the review by "Sally W". It sounds like a personal beef with a delivery issue. Not representative of the vast majority of positive experiences here. This restaurant is very new, and they just completed a remodeling of the place, so they're probably figuring some things out. Once again, it's the BEST Ramen place in the neighborhood.

I ordered from this place for the first time via Yelp. The order came incomplete - no dessert and three of the five toppings I ordered missing for the ramen. So I call them to ask for a refund or for them to re-deliver. The guy tells me because I ordered through Yelp that he can only give me credit - as if I'm ever going to order from him again. Here are direct quotes: "It's too far." Then "You can come get it." Then he wastes my time for ten minutes asking my address over and over and over - he has it from the previous order. Then my phone number over and over. Again, he has this information. At no point was he sorry or oops or we will get it to you. I am a ten-minute drive away. I told him I would leave this review, and he didn't care. Between the missing items, service fee, tip, and delivery, the total is $20 of a $40 order. Finally he says he will bring the missing items. This was two hours ago, so on top of being a cheat, and unable to put together a to-go order, he is also a liar. I contacted Yelp and got a credit of $13 just now, which took another thirty minutes. The ramen wasn't even that good. Just beware. Incredibly unprofessional and a cheat.

Beautifully presented ramen, but way over-seasoned and soup was not hot. Otherwise, nice place and good service.
