Judy was great. We did a private tasting at her house which seemed a bit odd but her cakes were like nothing we've ever tasted. She is so professional and cakes are so elaborate with flavors I've never even come across. Cakes soaked in different things and layers of different flavors and textures. Amazing. It was also very beautiful. Gives you a 3d drawing proof email of what your cake will look like. She gives complimentary cake for your year anniversary. I was a couple months late and messaged her and she still made a cake for me. Had her husband meet me (saved me a trip ALL the way to monroe). Wonderful service and product!

Wow!!!! Judy's cakes are absolutely stunning. I have admired her beautiful cakes for years in magazines and knew that anything I got would be pretty. What I didn't expect was that they would taste amazing as well. Her flavors are so sublime and all that pretty decor tastes good too! She spent so much time with us planning out our cake. I really felt taken care of- not to mention a little drunk on cake and champagne after the tasting- hic! I think I might be more excited about my cake than my dress if that is possible.... Judy Tallent embodies professionalism kindness and creativity! Her cakes will give you goose pimples! They will inspire you with her top shelf diverse options and incredible mind blowing flavors! Truly I have never had a better cake than from Tallant House. She did our wedding cake and instead of the classic wedding cake we chose seven different types of cakes to bless our guests with as we wed at the top of the Smith Tower and there wasn't a crumb left!!!!

Judy is amazing. It was so hard to find someone who made food that tastes like food, Judy's cakes are bursting with flavor and leave you wanting more more more. We used her for our wedding cake and it was a choice I am so happy about, it was delivered perfectly, exactly as discussed and everyone adored it. I cannot recommend her enough.

Judy was a pleasure to work with, and our wedding cake was AMAZING. My husband and I went to her kitchen twice for tastings (I had gone alone the first time, and my husband wanted to come and meet her too before committing) and her collection of samples (as opposed to her "top 5 best sellers" that a lot of other places used as samples) were incredible and allowed us to see some of endless possibilities for our cake. We finally decided on a hazelnut cake (that she actually grinds hazelnuts into the flour), with layers of poached pear (in pear liqueur) mousse and caramel mousse, with buttercream frosting. It was better than we could have ever hoped for, and many of our friends and family commented on it being the best cake they had every tried!We are counting the days to our "anniversary" cake that Judy will be providing us next year!

Unfortunately, I didn't have as great of an experience as others. I would say from start to finish, everything was a little awkward and unlike any tasting I've done in the past (as I have done quite a few in the past). The place is pretty far from Seattle, and the tasting is done out of her home. I had my service dog with me, and she wasn't happy about that. Because it was a "professional kitchen," she didn't want to let the dog in. Perhaps that's something I should have communicated to her beforehand? I assumed it's the same rules as with a restaurant. So needless to say, I wasn't happy and just wanted to leave. I think she felt the same way. The tasting itself was just...awkward. I'm not sure if it's because of the dog or what. We had requested certain things to try, and she didn't prepare any of those for the tasting (even though she asked for requests). We sampled a few different things but most of it was frozen and/or not fresh. I completely understand not wanting to make a full cake for a tasting. But I have honestly never been to a tasting where I wasn't given fresh ingredients to try - they are normally cupcakes or something like that. Between the two of us tasting, we couldn't agree on anything we both liked. Nothing blew us away. I also felt pressured to put down a deposit. We didn't, as we knew that wasn't the right place for us. She emailed us later doing a "hard sell" and we had to tell her no. She just came across a little presumptuous. I can see how some people love her cakes, especially if she's been referred and/or you've tried them fresh before. I definitely think it's worth doing a tasting if you're considering her. I just didn't want to take the chance on a cake that we hadn't had fresh and I don't think we had the best rapport with her. It just wasn't the right fit for our needs. I really shouldn't have waited a year! Judy's cakes from Tallant House were incredible and absolutely fitting of our wedding. We had a lot of fun exploring the different cake and specialty shops, with elaborate displays with many options to taste and choose from. Even at Judy's shop there were so many options. But she stood out because of her insistence on high quality ingredients, a perfection of layering light layers of cake with multiple mouse and fruit fillings, and her great focus on service and quality. My favorite part, besides eating the cake, was getting a computer generated preview of exactly what our cake would look like. Really, how cool is that? At our tasting she had the typical array of options, but she also had incredible combinations and flavors in mind that we didn't see anywhere else. The options weren't overwhelming either because Judy was careful to provide good constraints and recommendations on what goes with what.Not only that, she took great concern for the actual day of delivery considering weather and time of delivery. She warned us the cakes wouldn't be there by the time we arrived if it was too warm, so when that happened we didn't sweat. They magically appeared sometime after the ceremony and well before cake cutting time - they were on display and all. She came in and out like a ninja, we never saw her!In summary: amazing cake, great for foodies and serious cake eaters, fantastic service, and comfortable collaboration all the way through.

We had a tall order for Judy for our wedding day--we wanted a dessert buffet of French desserts including a French wedding cake, a croqembouche which is basically a mountain of caramelized cream puffs. There was added pressure because my family is French and we had several French relatives there. Judy totally delivered and not only were here desserts absolutely beautiful and looked amazing to showcase, they tasted amazing and everyone complimented us on them -- including all of my French relatives. Judy was totally up for the challenge and was even thrilled by it. A great vendor!!

Judy is an extremely talented baker and designer. Not only is everything delicious, but it is beautiful as well. Judy had a pretty big order from us for our wedding day: 5 different cakes, macarons, pate de fruit, meringues, peach marshmallows... the list goes on. She worked with me on the design and color scheme, and I was completely blown away with the detail of her work and how she totally matched what I was envisioning. If there were more stars to give on this review, I would give them all!
