Visited Talavera Azul this morning and have to say it was absolutely delicious!I ordered The Works omelette with the chipotle sauce, a satisfying meal for us carnivores. My daughter had the Panela cheese omelette with green sauce and loved it. She was delighted with the spicy kick it had. A little noisy for my taste but tried to overlook that. Service was good. Definitely returning soon!

Best mole chilaquiles I've had. The mole sauce itself is to die for! It's flavorful and not too sweet which I really appreciated. It's really the perfect balance of sweet and savory.Highly recommend subbing the potatoes for rice because the refried beans and rice combo is perfectly delicious! You won't regret it!Please note that they do charge extra to add eggs, shredded chicken and avocado to your chilaquiles. Otherwise, it's just mole sauce, chips and cheese paired with potatoes and refried beans.Service was quick and easy. The restaurant is also very cute, homey and authentic.

Mama-review: Kid friendly Not pet friendly Alcohol friendly: *note wait times are long on the weekend, but you can take your littles on a walk across the street Food: it was decent, nothing too crazy. Had better breakfast elsewhere. The horchata was nasty so don't get that it had residue at the bottom not mixed properly. Service: rushed, seemed like they just wanted to get through the customers.

The food is very good. It's a small place, so it can get noisy (people chatting and eating) but it's a nice friendly spot. The service was good and friendly. The salsas pican, pero rico. Good cafe de olla.

This place was actually really delicious. It looks small from the outside but very roomy once inside. There's street parking and if you drive pass the restaurant to the right there's a parking lot as well. Street parking is free on holidays and weekends I believe. We went on a Wednesday morning and it was about a 30 min wait. So safe to assume this place will be packed on weekends and holidays!! They have cafe de olla and alcoholic drinks. The chilaquiles divorciados which is basically two different salsa and they were delicious and they had plenty of option we chose the green, mole, poblano and chipotle. The waitress was very attentive it was about an 100 bill to include drinks which we had coffee, mimosas and mixed drink.

Delicious the best cafe de olla in town, I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with over medium eggs, honestly the food was not as good as expected, but the cafe de olla and their fresh coffee is the best things I had in a while, I can drink their cafe every day. Be ready to wait for a table at least 30-45 if your party is 4+ people, if is for 2 people the wait can be 15-30 minutes. I will definitely come back to this place.probably next time 8 will try another dish.

This place is always busy, but worth the wait. If you eat here on the weekend, be prepared for long wait times. Weekdays are not as bad, and we were seated right away. However, it got pretty busy and filled up around 10am. There is only indoors seating and the street parking can be limited. There are few metered spots in front and not many options. Best place to park is across the street in the free 3 hour parking structure and walk across. The place is clean, prices are reasonable, and one of my favorite places in Chula for breakfast. The staff is friendly and the food is prepared rather quick considering how busy they get. The food is flavorful and the portions are big in my opinion. I'm always taking home leftovers unless I share. They are known for their Chilaquiles and they are all delicious (red, green, poblano, chipotle, mole). You can add eggs or a meat of choice to your meal and they come with beans and potatoes. They serve a variety of beverages including cafe de olla and mimosas. I've eaten their sopes, chorizo, breakfast burrito, and the queso. Everything I've eaten here I've enjoyed. The food very flavorful and always made right. Great breakfast place and worth trying.

In the heart of Chula Vista on 3rd, a hidden gem awaits Talavera Azul. This place, like a passionate telenovela, awakens the senses with its traditional Mexican flavors. Prepare yourself for a culinary journey like no other. As we stepped inside, the ambiance embraced us with its Latin flare. A cute and charming establishment, it whispered promises of delectable delights. We decided to start our adventure with the classic duo of chips and salsa. Little did we know, it would be a flavor explosion that would ignite our taste buds. For our main courses, I opted for the traditional French toast, while my wife chose the fiery huevos rancheros with a tantalizing red sauce. Accompanied by country-style potatoes and refried beans, it was a feast fit for royalty. The pictures we captured cannot fully capture the essence of these dishes, for they were truly a work of art.But it wasn't just the food that impressed us. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of our experience. The silverware glistened, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to cleanliness. In a world where sanitation is paramount, this establishment set the stage for an exceptional dining experience. Our server, Omar, played his role with grace and charm. He was not only kind and respectful but also an attentive listener. His presence added an extra touch of magic to our meal.Ah, the coffee! A true showstopper, it danced upon our palates like a passionate salsa. Infused with the warm embrace of cinnamon, it was a drink made for lovers of this aromatic spice. My wife's proclamation about the beans left me in awe. Creamy and unparalleled, they reigned as the reigning champions of the town. As self-proclaimed aficionados of Mexican cuisine, this was no small feat. And as for the French toast, it was a revelation. San Diego had never witnessed such a masterpiece. Adorned with luscious strawberries and bananas, it transformed breakfast into a decadent dessert. This unexpected visit was a stroke of serendipity, a twist of fate that will forever haunt our memories. We shall treasure this experience and eagerly return for more. A special thanks to my dear friend Jose, whose recommendation led us to this enchanting spot.

I love third avenue and Talavera really brings the community together for food that makes you feel like you're home. I brought my family here and they enjoyed everything. Even my cousin enjoyed her pancakes! The menudo was HUGE but so good and I ate myself into a fat nap. I wish the wait wasn't so long to get in, we waited about an hour but it was a busy Sunday afternoon. Families galore! At least the farmers market is Sundays across the street so we passed the time walking it. The people at Talavera are kind and quick with getting drinks to your table and orders in too. Always making sure you're taken care of. Love coming by when I can.
