Everything we had was so well made and delicious. My favorites were their gravlax salmon and the aburi hotate (6 seared jumbo scallops /w truffle). Another highlight was the golden snapper.I preferred how they served their sashimi over their sushi, but all was great.Best tako wasa I've ever had and they serve both grated and chopped fresh wasabi.They generously gave us some extra items because we were celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary and 11 years together.All the items we got:-golden snapper sashimi-yellowtail belly sashimi-uni sushi-sweet shrimp sushi-sushi set 8pc-aburi hotate-tako wasa-gravlax salmon-a5 wagyu /w uni-special handrollsIt was a really special experience and they've definitely made regulars out of us with how delightful the sushi chefs were and how wonderful every dish was.

Takaramono Sushi opened at the end of May in a suite on the corner of La Jolla Blvd and Pearl St. The space had previously housed a couple of ventures from the owners of Ambrogio15. It now has a sushi bar that can seat eight people, and several tables that can hold another about 20 diners. A few on-site parking spaces were available out front, otherwise look for curbside spots on La Jolla Blvd.I took a seat at the bar where a two-page food menu was handed to me. Appetizers, salads, one entree, and specialty items were on the left. Pasta, sushi/sashimi, rolls, and dessert were on the right. I started with an order of the Tako Wasa. This was octopus marinated with kizami wasabi. What I didn't realize from the description was that the octopus was going to be raw. Flavor was provided from the wasabi that was chopped and marinated in soy sauce. I prefer cooked tentacles versus a sashimi preparation.From the Specialty choices, I picked the Shoyu Butabara and Aburi Hotate. The first dish was nine pieces of sous vide pork belly with a spicy chive salad. The pork was topped with a savory sauce that enhanced the fatty meat. The second dish was six slices of seared jumbo scallop topped with caviar and a truffle sauce in the middle of the plate. The delicate flesh of the scallop was enjoyable and didn't really need the sauce.I finished my meal with nigiri servings of bluefin tuna, salmon belly, and fresh water eel. The quality of the seafood was very good. The service from the chef at the bar was pleasant as he checked up on me frequently. Overall, my dining experience at Takaramono Sushi was worthy of a four star rating.

I have been Takaramono Sushi twice in the past 2 weeks and I can say I'm officially obsessed. As a foodie and sushi lover, this restaurant is by far my new favorite go to Japanese restaurant. They offer quality sushi and unique dishes. Each dish is beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. I think they did a great job at keeping the prices on the moderate to higher end as it's worth every penny. Service and staff are super friendly as well. It's exactly what La Jolla was missing and I love that it's walking distance from my house.

I only write reviews if the restaurant is really bad or amazing. As you can see by my rating, this sushi restaurant was out of this world. My wife and I had a little date night and we couldn't have been more happy with the food, ambience and service. I think this is one of the best sushi restaurants in San Diego and I eat a lot of sushi. Try it.

The Uni Pasta was absolutely excellent, and the sushi was of the highest quality I've had in a long time. The uni, in particular, was the freshest I've ever tasted. Their ceviche was fantastic too - it was so good I ate it all before I remembered to take a picture!

It has taken me way too long to write this review, my friend and I randomly stumbled on this place during their soft opening. The owners are so sweet and personable, the quality of the fish is incredibly fresh and they put a lot of care into allergies and making sure you enjoy your experience! We definitely plan on being back!

I've visited this restaurant three times now, and each experience has been absolutely delightful. The wagyu dishes are exceptional, and the sushi is simply phenomenal. The uni pasta is a standout and a must-try for anyone dining here. I can't wait to explore the rest of their menu.The interior of the restaurant exudes elegance and luxury, making it an ideal setting for a romantic date night.The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming, and the service is top-notch. I am certain I'll be returning again and again.
