The food here is absolutely amazing! 10/10. We discovered this lowkey gem while walking around Chinatown. We ordered the pan fried chicken dumplings, beef scallion roll, and the oxtail soup. The chicken dumplings were well crisp just right and golden brown. With every bite, there was an overflow of juice and flavor that exploded on your palate with every bite. Each bite was very savory with a complex flavor profile. The beef scallion roll was my favorite. The overall flavor profile of the dish is modest or calm, but the flavor profile is robust. The beginning of each bite is savory and fresh, but transitions to a semi sweet that's complimentary as the flavor builds. The oxtail soup was not my favorite but my little friend absolutely love it. The broth was well balanced with the ginger and cilantro flavors creating a bright and fresh soup. The mixture of flavors are still jumping off my tastebuds as I type this. The food here is 10/10 and I would recommend giving this hidden gem a try. Wish I would've gotten pics of my food. Service: The service was very good. The staff was attentive without hovering over us. The food came out fast and piping hot!

My favorite place to get tomato egg with beef over rice! So so delicious and makes you feel like you're eating a home cooked meal. The sauce is so addictive. I love that whenever you order they pair it with their soup of the day. This time I got a tofu, tomato egg with seaweed soup. The soup is light, it's a palate cleanser. The front desk lady is always so nice and quick!

I've been stopping in here for at least 13 to 14 years. Great spot in Chinatown. very authentic. Had the Mini Steamed Buns with Pork and Crabmeat. They were fantastic. The shrimp fried rice was fabulous as was the Sauteed Scallops, Shrimps and Calamari over Greens Chef's Special. I believe it was served with little bok choy. Truly enjoy stopping here for a meal.

Family style dining on a work trip, made a reservation for 8 and they gave us the round table with the lazy Susan on it. We ordered several dishes from their big menu and honestly everything was a hit. Fan favorites included the spicy white fish with vegetables, noodles with shrimp, chicken fried rice, and chicken with eggplant. The black truffle soup dumplings in my opinion were just ok and not worth the price. All in all a great meal and at a very reasonable price point. Our whole group left stuffed and happy.

This unassuming restaurant has a huge menu full of so many delicious options. As someone who grew up with American Chinese food, I was so excited to see items that I'd never heard of before. As many people do, I have one dish that I judge most Chinese restaurants by - a dish that my dad introduced to me and we also share when we eat Chinese food together - ma po tofu. The ma po tofu at Taiwan Cafe was absolutely delicious over a bowl of white rice, but was different than many others that I'd tried. This dish was not as spicy as some, but was huge on flavor, and made me feel nostalgic and comforted. While wontons are pretty much universal, I still can't stop thinking of the chili peanut sauce that the wontons were covered it. It was sweet and spicy and everything one would want in a peanut sauce. The wonton wrappers were thin and delicate while the filling was hearty and full of flavor. Finally, I tried the roast beef in scallion pancake rolls. While I've had both scallion pancakes and roast beef before, I had never tried them together. The pancakes were firm with a hint of green onion, the beef was perfectly seasoned and tender, I believe I tasted a little bit of hoisin sauce (or something else sweet), and I know that this isn't everyone's gig, but the sprigs of cilantro brought the whole dish together, creating a third texture and flavor. I can't believe I ate all three dishes in one meal, but it wasn't hard considering how delicious each element was.The service was quick, the staff was super friendly from welcoming me in to the very end. This was hands down one of the best meals during my trip to Boston!

If you're craving good authentic soup dumplings. This by far has be one of the best places in Boston to get them.Location wise, this is the perfect spot in Chinatown. If you're walking from Boston commons / Boston public gardens. With the nice weather out, it's so nice to just take in the scenery, walk-through Boston, and then stop by here for a nice bite to eat and enjoy some true Taiwanese style soup dumplings. If you come on a Friday or Saturday night, do expect to wait, they tend to be a line, as this place is rather cozy.Personally, that's why I enjoy going for that walk around town and coming here just slightly after the dinner rush. So if you're gonna be coming here around 6 to 730, do expect to wait. The service is great, you don't have to feel intimidated, as the staff can speak English. They also have the menus translated in both Chinese, and in English so no need to bust out the Google translate. Food comes out rather quickly, so you don't have to worry about waiting too long. Most importantly the soup dumplings are spot on delicious. Once you bite into them, you do get that mouth full of delicious soup. (Do be careful it is very HOT!)

I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. The portion size were really big and the food tasted amazing. I really like the eggplant which had basil and tomato sauce. It was seasoned perfectly and had a lot of flavor. I also liked the beef fried rice and the Singaporean noodle who was really good. I highly recommend coming in big group so that you can try different food options. The food came out quick and the service was good.

Located in the heart of Chinatown on the 2nd floor, this tiny restaurant with not that many tables offers a huge menu with lots of authentic dishes packed with flavor and taste. You can't go wrong with almost any dish here but be adventurous and try out the more unusual offerings and save the classic and popular dishes for takeout.
