Tacos Don Berto

The food comes out fast and is extremely good, prices could be better but for river north can't expect anything less. Good spot

I was coming home from a semi late night and stumbled across this place. There is metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. They are open late, 6 nights a week. They are a credit card only restaurant, which is right up my alley. They do not take cash. The restaurant serves tacos, tortas and tamales and you can actually see them making them through the front window. Their selection is limited. They have a choice of 2 kinds of tamales and 4 kinds of tacos and tortas. I am not sure if you can walk into the restaurant and sit down. I ordered my food through a little take out window in the front. I got one of each of the 2 tamales, chicken tingas and queso Jalapeño. They were ready right away. I think they were premade. I ate them as soon as I got back to my room. They were ok. Nothing special, I have had better and I have had worse. Well, when it is late, you are hungry and there are limited dining options, this place will do. I hear their tacos are delicious so, the next time I am in time, I will have to give them a shot, because the tamales just did not do it for me.

Cheap tasty tacos late night. Order at the window, pay cash, what's more to say. I was super hungry at 11:00 p.m. and nothing else was open so I cruised down to this place and ordered myself some carne asada tacos.

The place opens around 6p...until after midnight. The Al pastor tacos were ok...but the carne asada tacos were delicious! The meat seasoned well. The tortillas were great and had the taste! Chips aren't my favorite but their fine as a side. The verde sauce was nice and bright...and was pretty good. Carne asada tacos...they were fantastic!

Probably the worst dining experience I've ever had. Double and triple charged us for everything and refused to fix it. Made us wait hours while they figured it out and still didn't fix it. Would not recommend at all

Excellent tortillas, tried all 3 varieties of taco. The carne asana was superb. Unique Al pastor seasoning, really liked it as well.

Come across this place after a fun night. Food was pretty good. Will definitely be back
