Taco Viva

Guess what?! Of all the places we adventured to this week this was one of our top finds. SBL and I couldn't have been more happy with Taco Viva. Walked in and right away our nostrils were Judi chopped with those fabulously good grill smells. (The nose knows) the place is new only open for a month and a half. Inside was clean and aesthetically pleasing and decorated well. The menu is painted on the wall and they have a line you follow to tell the chefs what toppings you want on your order. The main guy was training a newbie and he was so patient and kind we said we would have loved that guy teaching us anything when we were in school. I ordered the mula with chicken on corn tortillas with sides of chips and queso. SBL ordered 3 tacos, a chicken, asada and a pastor. We took it home and it weathered the storm of me driving thru rush hour traffic. They weren't greasy, just juicy. They were spicy in the best way and so stupid tasty it brought me to bring on our new measure meter called The SHUT YOUR FACE IT'S SO GOOD METER! Both SBL and I give this place a two thumbs up and a happy tummy rub. For a bonus they give away stickers too so if you see a car flyin by with twelve Taco Viva stickers plastered all over it's me, good times.

I've been driving by this place for a while now since it was under construction. I finally had a chance to pop in and went for the Taco and Vampiro Al pastor. The inside is very nice and spacious which is always great. The menu is small which I liked as well. They modeled the place after some famous taquerias in Mexico, which they highlight with some pictures. Being from San Diego I have had the chance to go to two of the ones they mentioned so I was stoked.I had a carne asada taco and a pastor Vampiro. The asada was good, but missing something. The Vampiro was really delicious and was a huge fan of the chipotle tasting sauce they had. Unfortunately I think someone went way overboard with the salt on the green salsa they had out. While it's cool to see places making tortillas by hand, it's risky because "home made" is not synonymous with "good". The tortilla they had worked really well for the tostada, but not so much for the taco.They did a great job hiring very friendly staff members which is great to see. I'm not a huge fan of having them all scream welcome and goodbye to every customer. There's enough positive energy from your interaction at the register and the cooks :)Overall a cool place with solid food and will be back to try some more of their menu!

Can only use some hotter salsa at salsa bar! Otherwise 5 stars!Great spot, very inviting and friendly atmosphere and staff. Fantastic selection of Mexican bottled sodas as well as fountain drinks and cerveza.The food is great, well-portioned tacos, mulas and vampiros. Order first then visit your preparer to get customized (con todos is great). This place should rightfully do great business, check it out, it's very good!

Glad we got here early because Taco Viva is a hot spot for lunch! I got the carne asada & the pork al pastor both con todo. I love that they put some sweet pineapple on the pastor, which was a nice balance between spicy and sweet. Their hot sauce has some good kick to it too! Will definitely be back.

Cool new place in the neighborhood, I smelled the tacos at the car wash next door and had to check it out. I've been twice now and the cashier even remembered me from last time which made me feel very welcome. The ordering process can be a bit confusing if it's your first time, you order and pay at the cashier, then you go to the counter and give your receipt to the guys back there and they prepare your food for you. I like everything that they put on the tacos and they have even more salsa options at their salsa bar. I've had the al pastor, pollo, and carne asada tacos and they are all good.

This place surprised me . I ordered 1 carne asada taco on a freshly made corn tortilla it was REALLLY good. And I ordered 1 taco de pastor on a flour tortilla and I will say I didn't really care for that one bc it wasn't spicy it was sweet and not too crispy or charred how I normally prefer it. But chewy so I didn't like that too much .But the tortillas were so goood. The salsas here are really good and flavorful. Also ordered side of beans and guacamole and chips those were tasty.And lastly the carne asada fries we're the best I loved them.The service was great everyone was very welcoming and nice. The restaurant was really spacious lots of seating but all the tables really messy. Seats were sticky tables were sticky and so were the floors so that was pretty uncomfortable eating like that but I'd still give it another chance and come back .

I will stop you right..... there! Tortillas to perfection with a kitchen feel that i can only match to TJ. Kitchen will shoot the shit with you up to passing you your plate! Arcadia you are on the map! Keep it up guys!

The food is good, the service was awesome. We were helped by Crystal and she was so nice and helpful! The vibe was awesome too! They only have 3 options of meat; asada, al pastor and chicken. They have a vegan option; mushrooms. The tortillas de maíz son hechas a mano. Overall it's a great place!

The food here is unreal! Might be my favorite tacos! Great service, reasonably priced and just all around great. Love coming in when Crystal is working, she's fantastic!
