Taco Verde

Appropriate that I write this review on National Burrito Day. On my first visit to Taco Verde, I ordered the Birria (beef not goat, and halal like everything else!). But while I was waiting I chatted with the super cool Nabil who was one of the partners there. While we talked I lamented that the one food I was disappointed that Chicago doesn't have a great option for was a Mission-style Californian burrito. Most are (not surprisingly) more of a Mexican style, heavy on lettuce but no rice and beans or the beans are refried. To which Nabil replied "I wish you told me sooner, because that's the style of our burritos!" Now, I certainly didn't regret that birria taco I got, because it was outstanding! But next time I was there, I was certain to get a burrito. And I was NOT dissappointed! Finally at long last, after 20 years here I have the sort of burrito I've dreamed of having here!!! And if you are a steak fan who doesn't hate corn, I think that their Stelote burrito is a damn perfect burrito. I don't live too close, but this is a burrito I go out of my way for. And when they showed up as available for delivery to me in Evanston on Grubhub I was thrilled. And typing this review was a great time for me to pass the time while I wait for my birria burrito to arrive. Nabil and Karim have done such a fantastic job with this menu!!!

Decided to give them a try despite hearing bad things. The place has 3 parking spots and is in this very narrow strip mall. All the other businesses put up "reserved parking will tow" signs. And there is no where else to park. Saved my money and I guess saved my stomach from diarrhea. Avoid

This was my first time trying Taco Verde after seeing a reel on Instagram promoting the restaurant. Although the space is small, it is well lit. We decided to take our food to go, though, due to the limited seating as we had a toddler with us. We waiting a while for our food, though no one else was in the restaurant. My friends and I enjoyed sharing the Birria Pizza and churros. The horchata is a must get drink!

Best Tacos I've ever had. They were delicious, and the service was kind. They're doing good as a new place!

Once again, this place ROCKS and is not busy. We had steak tacos, birria tacos, chicken quesadillas, bean and rice. All fantastic!

Came here today with my family. It's a small takeout or come with a Friend, eat and run type place, the AC was not working and it had a very strong cleaning product smell like bleach , we pretty much walked in and walked out did not try the food . I couldn't take the smell of the bleach and the no AC .

Fantastic tacos - the shrimp was so flavorful! Don't miss out on the lunch special. Will definitely be back!

2nd time I received food here and it was Great! The service was also very good and highly recommended for tacos and burritos

Benny is so nice I was like 2 dollars short and he paid them for me and he's really nice and takes orders fast the birrea tacos are so good and their birrea pizza this place is really good for a new place

Insanely tender meat in the birria pizza! The large bowl of consumme for dipping had so much flavor. Fair warning, super messy to eat lol. I wish this place the best of luck because, if going viral wasn't enough to keep the last restaurant at this spot open, y'all going to need it.
