I was winding down my night out with family and we had a major taco craving! We wanted to try something new (to us) that would also be open semi late and was not a full blown dine in.We yelped this and made our way over...this is in the neighborhood which means parking is not the easiest so it may possibly be a double parking blinker situation. It's a little tent with a grill and everything is made to order. There was a nice clip of walk ups and he cooks until no more folks roll up...so although Yelp says 11pm...if there are people ...they will be fed! Since it's in the neighborhood definitely want to be cognizant of not being rowdy. I had 2 carne asada steak tacos and a steak quesadilla! Flavors were on point! I ate a taco out of the trunk of my hatchback and had a quarter of the quesadilla...and was stuffed! Took the rest home and had a whole other meal!Fairly quick, tasty, no frills street tacos! Level of sketchy was mild but as in anywhere..when out later, you'll want to be aware of your surroundings.

We've been coming here for years now. It's one of the better lowkey taco spots in Chicago. We came here again yesterday after about a year of not visiting. The tacos weren't as seasoned and flavorful it used to be and they seem smaller. Maybe the cook was just having an off day. Nonetheless, we will definitely revisit cus $20 for 6 tacos is a pretty decent price (in today's economy lol).

I LOVE THIS GUY!!! NEVER FAILS ME!!! Been living in Pilsen 1 year and a half. Was already a fan before I even moved here.Nooooow he's my buddy. He definitely has his customers ON LOCK.For good reason. This is not a fancy place. He is a street vendor. But the tacos are GOOD and he ALWAYS fills them with plenty of meat.I'd say 2 of his tacos are enough for a normal adult. At least it is for me.Im moving next week so I wont be seeing him as often. But I PROMISE I'll be back!!!!! DEFINITELY!!!

This place is as authentic as it can get! Had to walk through a thin alley into a backyard area with a tent up and a grill. The carne asada and al pastor tacos are huge and are currently $3 each. They are bigger than normal street tacos. I was sad that day he didn't have lengua but said he normally does. The salsas were okay but meats were very tender and not super salty so eating 4 was easy for me! It filled me up so much and was very fresh. There was no skimping on meats or toppings. I believe If you want guac/cheese/etc it's an extra charge. I will definitely come back to try lengua! This is definitely a spot to stop by! I love hole in the wall places and so glad I found a taco spot in chicago that's not a restaurant!!

Decided to stop by here after reading all the amazing reviews for this place and it did not disappoint! Maybe top 3 of best taco places in Chicago?!? The food did take a little long to receive because he was grilling everything from scratch but well worth the wait. The meat was flavorful and crispy, the onions and cilantro added a nice freshness and as you can see from the pictures every taco was overflowing with goodness. Idk if his salsas were homemade but i rationed that avocado salsa to add to food later in the week as well, it was delicious and just the perfect amount of spice. Value and quality cannot be beat here!! There's no place to sit and eat at the stand but Harrison Park is a short walk away if you're not going straight home with this deliciousness.

I had some time to kill, was around the neighborhood, and this place popped up on my my search! Overall,I was pretty happy with the tacos, i had 2 asada, 1 al pastor, one chicken. I think my favorite was the asada - i would love to try the lengua next and also the steak burrito. All three salsas were pretty delicious and on point, not one of them was TOO spicy but the red one had a bit of a kick to it ( i personally love spicy salsa). Something I missed that I'll mention on here for any future customers, I didn't realize this was not a sit down place, its a street vendor outside. I personally dont care and almost prefer it (though i had to eat in the car because it was raining), but just FYI. The al pastor is not the al pastor im used to it, but was still pretty good. Would 100% come here again.

The place to go for street tacos/Mexican cuisine. Pay attention to the days and hours of operation. Listed hours of closing is 11 pm, however once I sped over and arrived at 11:02 pm and my man was still cookin. I asked him how the hours work and he says as long as there's a chain of people who keep coming he takes orders. What a nice guy. Man of the people of Pilsen. Parking is all street parking, but if you go later at night you can just pop on your hazards on the side. Chill vibes only. Just walk up and place your order, stand on the side or wait in the car. Pay at the end. Ps - CASH ONLY. Food (8.5/10):The food here is legit authentic street style food. Recommended items for me is the Al pastor tacos. The steak is pretty standard. There is lengua as well which I enjoy. If you're lucky he sometimes also has cabeza. A not so well known but must try on the menu are the quesadillas. Like get a cabeza, steak or any meat with it. It's fire. There are tortas as well which are huge but I like the quesadillas more. Overall the servings are huge. You can't even wrap/bite down on your taco without spillage. The best sauce is also the green avo based sauce. Value (8/10):I can't remember exact pricing but tacos around $2.50. But remember these are loaded tacos. Good value otherwise. Quesadilla with meat I think are around $10. Ambience (7/10):Street style vendor. No official vibes just chill vibes only. Very low key, quiet and wholesome. Can exchange a few words with the owner as well he's chill.
