Ordered carne asada fries, ended up with meat quesadillas with grease on the bottom

As a native San Diegan, I've never been more disappointed in a taco shop in my entire life. I don't know where to begin with all of the ways that this place dropped the ball...First, I ordered the 3 tacos & a side, and I was given 3 rolled tacos with no side. Then, I asked for red & green salsa twice, but I was only given red. Next, I ordered a side of rice and a side of beans, but I was given only a few spoons of each in the well of a styrofoam plate. The rice was undercooked and was crunchy, and the beans were probably the most bland refried beans that I've ever tasted. How do you screw up refried beans!?The Asada Deluxe Quesadillia was anything but deluxe... What made this deluxe? It was a few strips of meat and some cheese in a burned stale tortilla. In fact, the Carne Asada Fries was probably the weakest rendition I have ever seen. Sadly, the fries were small McDonald's type shoestring fries, the cheese seemingly consisted of melted clumps of cheddar, and the carne asada was not chopped enough. Just imagine McDonald's fries with clumps of cheese and strips of beef on top. Nothing more, nothing less...We are blessed to live in a city where there is a taco shop on every corner, so I won't be back until they step up their game to measure up to the competition here in San Diego, and take their craft a little more seriously. Based on the other reviews, it sounds like this place might be under new ownership, because the reviews were better in the past. I gave them 2 stars instead of only 1 star, because there might still be hope for them to restore their glory if they're willing to listen to their customers.

Even with the generous portions ($4.50/taco but it was double the size of a regular taco), the taste was extremely bland, dry, and forgettable. They did not even include limes with our order so there was no kick to it at all. The meat was barely seasoned, the al pastor was too lean (no fat = no flavor), and the tortilla was undercooked. Even the horchata was too sweet, almost like drinking melted marshmallow. This was an extremely disappointing experience given the plethora of good Mexican spots around here!

Surprisingly this was the only Mexican shop that we found that was opened on New Year's Day. It wasn't my first choice but it was opened for take out through the drive-thru.When trying a place for the first time, I always get the basic carne asada burrito. The burrito was on point but no guacamole. It's also slightly smaller than other nearby shops. Tortilla remained soft which I liked. The meat was not chewy and it had flavor. The fish burrito was the opposite. It was a bust. You can tell it was previously frozen and the batter kept on breaking and tasted all doughy. The service was super fast. There are so many other Mexican shops along this street that I haven't tried therefore I won't be returning here.

Appreciate the drive through (which I feel is majority of orders but they do also have walk-up). Easy to find on the corner of the street. Variety of items and unique items as well. Such as Hawaiian burrito which my boyfriend recently got (comes with ham, pineeapple, shrimp...). He gave it a 3/5. I agree on my one bite. It was good but has to be something you are in the mood for. They also have potato rolled tacos-those were yummy and their guac was freshly made and delicious all on its own.I ordered the #11(mixed burrito which is shredded beef & beans, beef taco, and rice). The two sides of rice were soft, fluffy, and tasty. I love RICE so was pleased with that. The beef taco was also super good and crunchy. I really like their red hot sauce, even bought a pint of it for $4. The beef burrito was mixed with beans and topped with enchilada sauce. I just wanted to try something different and although that burrito was not bad, i wouldn't order that item again. There was more beans than their was beef, but also the burrito itself felt like it was more tortilla than filling. I was not a huge fan of the enchilada sauce and would definitely not order a wet burrito again. It's my preference due to I like holding a burrito in my hands while eating, and that was not an option because it was quite messy to hold (I did briefly try it lol).Overall, I will be back since I have been coming here since my college days. I don't come often though, just when I'm in the area. And as far as I can remember, the drive through always has a wait. I've never experienced a fast wait time, but it's all good since I'm in my car listening to music. I appreciate the staff, they are super friendly with smiles.

This place was one of our favorite taco shops in San Diego, but last few times we have ordered the food has been not good. I normally order a bean and cheese burrito the cheese isn't even melted it's just Cold cheese on warm beans which is just disgusting. My family has been coming here since I was a little kid. It's really disappointing to see such a family favorite lose their quality.

My go to taco shop when I'm back home in mission valley. I love the Carne Asada Tacos and Rolled Tacos. Salsa is the right amount of heat everytime.

Nothing too crazy. Typical mexican food. This has become my local Taco shop since moving to the area. So far all the food Ive gotten here has been good. Its mostly drive through orders but they do have tables outside to sit and eat. They have only messed up my burrito once, which is pretty good for the amount of times I have been here. So Im not complaining!! Lol

I'm not sure if there's a new cook but every time I order a carne asada burrito it is way too salty. This used to be my go to Mexican shop close to work but not anymore. I rather go to sombreros and that's saying a lot about their food. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

I'm a huge fan of pollo asado. To-date, this is the best pollo asado burrito I've had in San Diego. I also tried their carne asada fries but wasn't all that impressed. Either way, they'll have my business any day over the place across the street.
