Szechuan House

Looking for cozy booths, a little mood lighting, and good food? Szechuan House is your place! The fried wontons they start you off with were a bit overcooked, but that didn't stop me from eating half a basket of them-- they were still great! The upside down crispy noodles were tasty! They were in a clear sauce which was quite delicious. They have a little parking lot available, which made coming here convenient. We came here on a Friday night around 6 PM, and we were just about the only ones in the restaurant. It seems like they get a good amount of to-go orders. Definitely want to come back to try some of the other noodle dishes!

Dinner was delicious and service was great. It helped to dine here for an early dinner. Better parking and less people!The salt & pepper wings appetizer was delicious. Mongolian beef was very tender and full of flavor. The hot pot we ordered had shrimp, scallops and chicken and vegetables in brown sauce (can't remember the exact name of the dish). Very, very good dish!

Terrible food. Terrible service. Don't waste your time.Came here twice. The staff is rude. If you order out they take forever and won't tell you when your food will be ready. Food is not worth the wait. Portion size is reasonable but low quality ingredients and below average taste.Save yourself a headache and don't come here.

Old Chinese bistro that serves many of the classic Chinese-American dishes you can find anywhere. One unique thing I tried was the Mu Shu Pork for the lunch combo, which was basically two pork burritos Chinese-style. It was not bad and with the complimentary wonton strips, I was pretty filled up by the whole meal.

Ive been living in Mira Mesa a little over 30 yrs and this place has been here just as long if not longer. I have to say I had a bad experience with them probably over 20 yrs ago and never returned until recently.No California Chinese place compares to the east coast for me, with that being said, I recently gave Szechuan House another try and I absolutely love their House Special Egg Foo Young! It's so frickin flavorful and taste authentic to me (but who am I). It comes with a large container of the sauce which is packed with shrimp, chicken, beef and veggies, served with 1 good size egg foo young patty. Its definitely enough for two people or left overs. I've ordered it 3x this month alone. It's gonna be my go to EFY from now on. I've also ordered some cream cheese wontons, egg rolls and the salt and pepper wings (the wings I would pass on those again)Obviously if an establishment has been around over 30 yrs then they are doing something right.. sure there's ups and down and always room for improvement but they are getting a solid 4 stars from me.

Fast, good and great service!My first time there. It was suggested by a friend and it didn't disappoint.

I thought the food was great. Classic Chinese cravings like chow mein or saucy chicken. None of the dishes were off in any way they don't try to do anything weird or too specific. I thought the fried rice was good. A place I'll go to for classic Chinese takeout.

I have been here so many times, and tried so many beef dishes. Beef with jalapeño, with broccoli, and so on. They were all very good, and able to be made gluten friendly. Wonderful service, Seating inside, nice restroom, and parking in lot right out front.

The food is ok but no t real Szechuan food. Basic stuff. I had 2 dish's but neither can get a "wow".

Service was great. Good food portions. Nostalgic ambiance. My kids loved their sizzling rice soup and honey chicken. We had a wonderful dinner.
