I couldn't have asked for better way to celebrate my mother's birthday! We had reservations at 4:30pm--right when the restaurant opened. Our server Kiwi was superb! She knew the menu and explained everything with care and patience. I have been to Swift many times--but I still like to ask questions, lol. Never hurts, right?! We ended up getting the pound of king crab legs, the crab cake, New York strip, and all the fun sides: mac and cheese, double baked potato, etc. Such a great fare! I want to point out Rodrigo's service! What a great, welcoming guy! We bonded because of our knowledge of Mexico and our roots to the motherland. Rodrigo, gracias colega, por su buen servicio, cariño y atención! Demasiado agradecimiento por la calidad de atención que nos dio! Hasta la próxima! Rodrigo is Latino excellence with elegance and grace. Overall, the best dining experience to date at Swift! Cheers!

There were some things that were fantastic, but many that I felt were just your run-of-the-mill steakhouse things that prevents the experience from really popping.I would give Swift & Sons a 5/5 if everything was based on service. Our waiter was cheery, friendly, and fast. Drinks, food, silverware, everything was placed and taken away in a quick but not rushed fashion. We never felt pressured to finish up our meal, but also didn't feel at any time like we were twiddling our thumbs. Recommendations from our waiter were pretty decent.Unfortunately, the cocktails were the most disappointing thing about this establishment. I ordered a Penicillin, and my friend ordered a La Paloma, and both our drinks tasted VERY watered down. That's not to say they went light on the well liquor in favor of other ingredients - rather, it tasted like they cut the entire drink with a generous pour of water. If you're visiting, I would recommend you steer clear of the cocktail list, and perhaps opt for their wine options.Food-wise, the rock shrimp was a solid appetizer - kind of like a honey-walnut shrimp but with a little extra heat. We also ordered the oysters, which were fresh and went perfectly. Two steaks were the entrees - a regular 22oz ribeye and a dry-aged 22oz rib eye, to share with a table of four. I'm not sure where they source their beef, but keep in mind that their steaks taste extremely beefy - which I personally enjoy but some persons with lighter palates might find offensive. Sides complimented the meal, but were nothing to rave about (fries, mushrooms, mac and cheese, and green beans) - in fact, I found them to be quite forgettable.Lastly, the restaurant had an overall elevated vibe. The theme-ing was by far much weaker than Hogsalt restaurants (I'm thinking Bavette's), but it held up a casual-yet-refined atmosphere well. I'd recommend at least business casual to dress, but you won't get any raised eyebrows coming here with a T-shirt in the summer.Long review, but my general thought is that it's a place I'll be coming around to for happy hour occasionally, but might avoid the actual sit-down meal.

Swift and sons is just perfect. Fast service, lovely inside. Came here for my boyfriend's birthday and it was fabulous. The bread they give you to start is amazing, literally the best bread ever. Ordered the usual. Rock shrimp- best app ever and oysters were huge! Macaroni and potatoes always a must. And an 8 oz filet is just perfection, cooked perfect. To end the cookie skillet which was soo gooey and yummy. Will continue to come here again and again!

Brought our family here from Texas who love a good steakhouse and they had a great meal and time. Good service, cool ambiance, and good service that tells you the backstory of the cool ambiance of the space which I really appreciated. Food was amazing, cocktails were refreshing, wine was delicious, and dessert was decadent. Highly recommend!

We visited on Saturday night to celebrate my husband's birthday. I had reservation in advance for us. The vibe and ambiance was great. Our server was very polite. We started off with Zero Rose and Old Fashioned. The zero rose was amazing so did the old fashioned. We were served bread and butter on the house with our drinks. For appetizers I had the butter squash vegetarian pasta and my husband had crab cake. Crab cake was delicious. We then ordered a side of green beans, creamed spinach and Ribeye. In the end, our server got us two pieces of gourmet candies with a candle for my husband's birthday. Overall it was a nice experience. I would highly recommend this place and MUST TRY!!!

Had a business dinner here. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and has a very classic upscale steakhouse ambiance. Our group shared a variety of small plates and tried different entrees. The Beef Wellington was the star of the night-- it was presented lovely and is a must-try here. The Bordelaise Sauce addition to the Filet Mignon is another must-try. Also, the Mashed Potato side is simple but surprisingly good and worth getting. The other dishes and sides we tried here were good but not amazing or worth the price.

First let me say I was here for business and I didn't pay (there was 20 of us at 2 tables) I was given a very limited menu so I can't say based on the full menu. The salad was very tasty the sides were good and the salmon was prepared very well. Service was impeccable and the place looked very nice and super clean. With all that said if I had to base coming back here based on what I did eat. I might say no thank you. Based on my coworker who has eaten here many times, I was told I missed out on some of the best steak in the Chicago area. So with that info. I would love to come back to try the steak. I don't normally base my review on limited menus, but sadly my company's customer paid and set the menu. I would be happy to come back again if in the area.

We went to Swift and Sons for our anniversary and had an amazing time! From the food, ambience and customer service- everything was tops! Our server was super attentive and just knew when we needed service. He gave us great suggestions and was very informative. For apps we ordered the shrimp, French onion soup and beef tartar (try it...and yes its 'raw'). The French onion was our favorite! Our mains was bone in rib eye with bone marrow on the side and the salmon with a mushroom side. The rib eye was sooooo tender omg it was delicious! We really enjoyed every meal! And don't get me started on the deep dish cookie...omg and they make their ice cream in house, amazing the ice cream compliment the cookie so well, as the chocolate can be very sweet! For drinks we ordered an old fashion (they have like 4/ 5 different old fashions), naked & famous (mezcal based), ¡Buenos tiempos! (Tequila based) and a glass of Malbec. The old fashion and mezcal drink was out favorites! Our bill came to about $280 (without tip) so not bad at all!We cannot wait to visit Swift & Sons again!*SN: they make u order all your food at once & the French onion soup isn't for to go.

Mostly good, but not stellar. I came here for restaurant week. Here is a breakdown:-hamachi crudo: 6.5/10. the hamachi had that fishy taste that wasn't very enjoyable. also, the seasoning made this dish too salty for my liking & there was too much passion fruit sauce.-"balena" orecchiette: 8/10. good flavors going on & pasta was cooked to a good texture. however, the sauce was runny. very large portion though!!-beef neck pressé: 10/10. nothing wrong with this dish! the beef was super tender, seasoned well, & idk what they did to the carrots, but they were delish--carrots are typically an afterthought for me!-chocolate mousse: 10/10. lovely texture, not too sweet, candied hazelnuts are a nice touch. basically tastes like ferrero rocher ice cream... YUM!-deep dish cookie: 8/10. good, but kinda too sweet for my liking. i'm glad my friend ordered this and not me.-the BREAD!!! 11/10!!! seriously. most "fancy" chicago restaurants don't give out free bread. u gottaaa try S&S's! the cheese biscuits were especially good--tastes like an elevated red lobster biscuit.
