I've visited other Sweet Alchemy sites in the University District and Ballard. However, this was my first visit to the Capitol Hill/Chophouse Row site which was formerly Kurt Farm Shop (5/7/23). Scored on free street parking by Chophouse Row, I decided to have at scoop of ice cream after visiting nearby Ellliott Bay Book Company. Friendly counter person. Ordered a milli (6oz, $6.50) serving of their Darkside chocolate ice cream. I chose to sit in the courtyard with others soaking in the pleasant spring weather. Pro tips: I still have three clean pint containers in my car trunk. These can be returned to any site for a discount when future pints are purchased. Make sure to start a punch/stamp card. Also, if you're a UW Alumni Association member, show your membership card and receive a discount. I keep forgetting to do the latter two. The greater Seattle area has quite the abundant selection of indie ice cream and gelato shops. Sweet Alchemy is a worthy splurge!

This is a highly reccomended creamery online. I'm on the hunt to find the best ice cream spots with Salt and Straw being the benchmark. I ordered the vanilla ice cream was unpalletably sweet and icy. Imagine the texture of the freezer burnt ice cream when ice crystals start forming. Perhaps I came on an off-day, but I couldn't finish the cup. Service was good though.

Unique, non-standard flavors! At first, I had a difficult time figuring out which flavors to try. I decided to order the Persian Rose Ice Cream (cardamom and rose water ice cream with pistachio bits) and the London Fog Ice Cream (earl gray tea with their own blend of vanilla). I personally enjoyed them, but can see why some may not, since the flavors are different from the usual ones you're used to seeing. Sweet Alchemy Ice Cream has a good amount of creaminess, and I ended up wishing I had ordered the largest size. A few notes: The business is located down an alleyway, so you won't see it from the street. Also, parking during a weekday evening was extremely difficult to find and I ended up getting dropped off.

Brooo this place is so good I met someone who said it was just "meh" and they were automatically cancelled to me. I knew that I couldn't trust them or their taste buds. True story. I love all the flavors here - this place is a Seattle classic and a must-try at least once. Their London Fog flavor is definitely my favorite though - they don't do samples but you can get as many flavors as you want in your little cups. I luv Sweet Alchemy

Randomly saw this place walking down the alley full of shops. great find! Friendly service, a plus! We ordered the Pumpkin pie and Black sesame. Pumpkin pie is vegan, yay for vegans and those who are lactose! It was good, let me tell you that though. As for the black sesame, it didn't have enough of that black sesame taste? but more like flavorless ice cream, i don't know. Probably would describe the taste much like vanilla? Everyone should come here and check this ice cream shop out. I know I would to try the other flavors.

Creamy and has unique flavors. Doesn't really have traditional only vanilla or chocolate here so this isn't the spot if you're looking for that. We got the dark side and it had a good chocolate ganache flavor. My boyfriend is a sweets kinda guy and approves.

Just a nope for me personally... I didn't even finish my ice cream. We tried some of their top favorites but I just didn't like them. Rose water and lavender. Too flowery and soapy for me. But if you like floral flavors go for it! Cookie Monster which I got a little sliver was not bad.

Best ice cream spot in Cap Hill! They have lots of unique flavors and it's hidden in Chophouse Row, sometimes with live music playing as you enjoy your ice cream. Much better than Molly Moon's or Salt and Straw. They have unique flavors that rotate seasonally, including makgeolli, sakura, London fog...There's no indoor seating though, so watch out on a rainy day!

Ordered Darkside! The texture was pretty icy and wasn't consistent. Unfortunately it was same with the flavor, each spoon was different weirdly

We stopped by this place since it was nearby and it was a hot day. This place is definitely smaller than the UW location and didn't have as many flavors. Also they didn't allow samples so you kinda have to just know what flavors they are.The people here are nice though and knew what is in each ice cream. She was able to explain everything clearly. The cookies are also baked onsite so it was fresh which is nice. We got the waffle brittle ice cream as well as the monster cookie. The waffle brittle cookie was still warm and soft you if you want the frubchz definitely wait until it cools down. The flavor was good, definitely on the coconut side. The ice cream was good, I did wish there was more do the waffle chunk though.Overall it's a good place for ice cream and I would come back if I'm in the areaOverall, the place is small but serves it's purpose. They still do punch cards here as well.
