Swamis Cafe

Decided to try this place because the lines at the Hash House A Go Go was too long and we were already parked right in front. When we entered the restaurant, we were instructed to order and pay at the counter and to seat ourselves. Since it was our first time here, we took a bit to order and meanwhile there was a good group of people that came by and ordered, which we took as a good sign... unfortunately our experience today was less than ideal.First off, the restaurant in itself is way too hot it made me nauseous. They do have a few ceiling fans but all it does is circulate hot air. The kitchen staff is a well oiled machine, however, one of the waitresses was severely slow. I saw my husband's food sit under what I'm assuming is a warming lamp for over 10 mins. And not to our surprise, it was barely warm by the time he got his food. No need to mention the temperature of my pancakes... He got the California burrito and they put huge unseasoned potatoes inside, might as well call it a potato burrito? I couldn't even see any other ingredients in it and it honestly shocked me when he showed me... after we finally got our food, the waitress asked if we needed anything else and I said "water"? She didn't check in on us at all afterwards and my husband searched the restaurant for ketchup for me, and his smoothie finally came when he was done eating and we were about to leave. I guess it's a normal service here because we saw a customer grab their own food at the counter... Based on our experience, I would not recommend this place. It's overpriced for decent food at best and even worse/slow service.

Walked in about a half hour to closing, gentleman at counter greeted us warmly. After finding out it was our first time in he gave us the rundown on menu, specials, drinks and layout of the restaurant. There were TV's throughout the restaurant and plentiful seating both inside and outside. We ordered a blue cheese burger with a side salad and yam fries. Everything was delicious! We will be back to sample other items!

Stumbled on the new in installment of Swami's after a morning workout across the street at Balboa Park. Perfect for a quick impromptu stop for breakfast or lunch and no wait / reservation needed. If you've been to their other installs you'll be familiar with the order and pay first model. Portions are large, coffee is hot, service was great and exactly what we needed for a sunny Saturday morning in Bankers Hill. Give this one a try!

The food was delicious! I loved their iced vanilla latte! It was the perfect amount. The food was delicious as well. You do have to order at the counter by the entrance. There is inside and outdoor seating, which were both good options since there was good weather. All staff was friendly and helpful!

Delicious food! Wonderful service. A hidden treasure. We were visiting from Long Beach and just enjoyed a yummy breakfast. The portion size is great! Great value for what you get. No skimping back here. Indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and enjoyed the peaceful setting. Look forward to our next visit.

Very confusing....they close at 2PM but have happy hour and dinner menus online. The online menu is MUCH different than the menu in the store and the prices charged at the register do not coincide with the printed menu. But they are quick with the excuses for the discrepancies.The food is good.....at best.....and the wine is ridiculously overpriced.

Food was delicious. Service was average. Had to get up and ask for soft drink we ordered at counter. Server never came back to check on us after we received our food. Never received refills or anything else we might have needed. Tipping at the beginning of the experience while ordering at the counter is counterproductive, in my opinion. Would not have tipped as much had it been the opposite.

Near Balboa Park. Indoor, outdoor seating. Great location and food. Professional service and good prices. Good vibes.
