Great sushi, you can tell that the fish are fresh. Highly recommend the Spicy 2 in one roll. The avocado salad is also a great appetizer. Definitely will come back. So had to edit my review, when we were getting the bill. The server said because it was our first time, they are giving us a complimentary dessert. Amazing service and very thoughtful

What a great find! We went late afternoon. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable., and the delivery of food was quick. The miso soup was standard, delicious and hot. The fried gyoza were a good size, crispy on the outside and well seasoned. The sauce was less acidic than some other restaurants but it was still tasty. We tried three rolls: chicken teriyaki, spider, and Godzilla. In short, I'd order all three again. They were so good. I plan to return and try more of the menu!

Although the place is small and not fancy, it has good sushi. This is not a place to go if you are looking for creative sushi dishes. But for your standard sushi- it is very good and the staff is very nice. Go there often when needing to get some quick sushi

It's spring break, and we had the place almost to ourselves, so the service was excellent. Good, fresh sushi, fresh salad, beautiful plating, cozy and comfortable inside. And we met Susie! Will definitely come back!

Staff was phenomenal. We order two app both amazing. I was not a super fan of the dipping sauce with the Gyoza but they were perfectly balanced and flavorful The edamame had a really nice taste with the right amount of salt not to salty. Please get a different cocktail and that was delicious and refreshing. The sushi was fresh and fun. We had 4 rolls and a few pieces of another item. The desert was fried Oreos. Yumm

FoodAgain, bigger group. We all ordered from the lunch menu. I had miso soup, spicy tuna roll and a crunch roll. Tuna could have been spicier. I asked for extra wasabi. Service Good service however a little disjointed. I asked for tea and our group had asked for refills and they were slow to fill. We a group of 5 and there was one other table that was seated halfway through our lunch. We did eventually get our tea and refills. Ambiance We all appreciated the video poker machines placed in a different room. Tables were clean. The room was inviting. We were curious as to why there were notes at the tables "please do not take chopsticks". Who steals reusable chopsticks from a restaurant?

An Unforgettable Culinary Adventure at Susie SushiSusie Sushi was a culinary delight that tickled my tastebuds with its fresh sushi. The quality of the food, mixed with the undeniable value of the lunch special, was a treat both for my palate and my wallet. The cherry on top of this delicious sushi-cake was the wonderfully pleasant staff, who turned the meal into a delightful experience. Like a homing pigeon with an insatiable craving for sushi, I already find myself plotting a return trip. Susie Sushi, you have undoubtedly earned another loyal patron!

Went here on a Friday and had sushi and some shrimp shumai. The restaurant is located right off of northwest highway in Fox River Grove...it's on an angle so sneaks up on you quick if you're going west on US 14. It's about a block west of the property with jewel Osco on it. It has a nice sized parking lot and some outdoor seating. We got there around 6 pm and it was not busy at all. You seat yourself and there's plenty of booths and tables (standard and bar height). There's also seating at their bar. The interior is nicely decorated with various cultural decorations and has a few TVs on for entertainment. Everything looked very clean. The sushi and other food is made behind a counter near the entrance which is away from the main dining area. Their air conditioning was not working well so be prepared for a steamy experience...especially if it's hot out. They had a sign posted apologizing for the AC being broke. Apparently, "the landlord won't fix it". It wasn't that bad though. On to the food. They have quite a few options for starters, sides, sushi and hot dishes. We opted for steamed shrimp shumai and the sushi & sashimi for 2 (10 pcs sushi,15 pcs sashimi & color dragon roll). The waitress was very nice and attentive. She took drink orders quickly and then took the appetizer order. Appetizer came out quick and was tasty. It came with a tinted broth that I've never seen with shumai. It didn't have much flavor but the shumai were good. The sushi took quite a while to come out...probably 20-25 min after we finished the shumai and we ordered it at the same time. It was nicely displayed on a wooded contraption but didn't have enough sliced ginger with it. The flavor on all the pieces was really good. The sashimi was thickly sliced and plentiful. The nigiri was a bit warm which I didn't like, but the rest of the fish was cold like it should be. The sushi and sashimi for 2 comes with a choice of house salad or miso soup (mix and match if you want). We opted for the house salad and the dressing was some of the best I've ever had. Pricing was just over $100 (with tip) for the sushi combo, shumai and 2 large beers. For the price, if you like sushi, the "for 2" entree we got looked to be the best value. I noticed one gross thing and that was a waitress cutting up drink garnishes without washing her hands first and without washing the fruits. This, unfortunately, if fairly common at bars. I recommend Sushi Susie for the great food, great service and nice location. We will definitely be back.
