I went to place an order there and just felt attitude the second I walked through the door. It was a totally different experience than under the previous owners. Maybe she was having a tough day, but the woman who took my order, rang it up, and I was astonished by the price and as soon as I asked her to take off a miso soup, I caught attitude. Then I asked her to remove the edamame. I wanted to add as well and I got even more attitude. She told me 10 minutes. I waited in the car but there was nobody there and I had clearly parked right in front of the door. Did she bring it out or alert me? Last time they did... but last time it was a different owner. I picked up the food and she said coldly have a nice day. I was like... man, this gal must have had a really tough day. Regardless, it's just not good to display that to customers. Bottom line is, I did not feel welcome, the sushi is overpriced and about as good as any sushi I've had. It was fine but I didn't appreciate the attitude. If your sushi is overpriced and I'm realizing it before your very eyes, maybe you should knock a buck or two off and you'd sell more? Idk. Thank goodness Gorilla Sushi is equidistant from my house. I was excited but the experience was underwhelming.

My favorite sushi place. We had the Philly, Sassy Girl which comes with Crabstick, cream cheese, shrimp tempura torched with spicy mayo, unagi sauce, crumb and scallion. Salmon Nigiri. Everything is fresh and nicely prepared. They have a nice selection of sushi's to choose from. Highly recommend.

Good quality sushi and great prices!I came here after seeing that it newly opened and was wanting to try some new sushi. Ambiance was nice and we sat next to the window. The Thai iced tea was really flavorful and had good sweetness to it. I would recommend this for sure.We got our first set of sushi which was the sake (salmon) sushi, and the spicy salmon. Each order comes with 2 pieces for $4.99. Not bad! The salmon was a decent texture, but I've had better. The spicy salmon had a very delicious flavor to it, but it was a little bit chewy. The next rolls that came out were the Zombie Shark and White Ocean. The Zombie Shark was a great concept, but I think the execution could be improved. I wanted to give salmon skin another try because I thought maybe I just had a bad experience...I tried 2 pieces and had to stop eating it. I think the texture was a little off putting for me, but if you're someone who likes salmon skin I can see you enjoying it more. The White Ocean was delicious. I really enjoyed the texture and flavor, but I think there was too much mayo on each bite.Would I come here? Absolutely. I would maybe stick to their non-mayo rolls, though.

3.5- I've ordered takeout twice. Seems reasonable for the price. Rolls are a bit loose, so they can fall apart if you're not careful. I like that they label the containers with the rolls.

I placed an order online for pickup and it worked! I have heard that this place opened a few weeks ago and wanted to try it. Since its Friday during lent, I thought sushi and a shrimp shumai would be in order. I am working from home and this place is not very far from my house. Ordering online was pretty easy. The only thing was they have a bit of extra fees on the website. There was almost a 15% increase for "additional charges". I appreciate that it was pretty transparent, but they might as well just increase the price of the food. They didn't have the food immedietly ready when I arrived, but had it out in five minues. They also included a miso soup on the house which was nice. While I was not the biggest fan of the fried shrimp shumai, the sushi was great and the miso was excellent! The sushi seems pretty darn fresh and the price for that wasn't terrible. It was a good portion size. Will I be back? Probably! The sushi was pretty good and compared to other locations, the price was pretty right. I will probably skip the online ordering and the shumai next time around and just dine in!

Some of the best sushi I've had in Chicago. Tasty and fresh ingredients with a nice variety of rolls at modest prices. This place is a weekly go-to for us.

What a disappointment, and unpleasant experience; waste of my money and time. Should've gone elsewhere where to get the cravings filled. Subpar food, unfriendly, and inattentive customer services. Not worth the 1 star, but had to add a star rating to complete the review.

I really enjoy both Thai food and Sushi, so when I saw this place walking around at a holiday craft show in the area on days I was excited to try it out. I didn't go that night because I'd already eaten, but was back in the area today and decided to order. I was near bye so just walked there and placed an order and it was ready fairly quickly. I got the spicy miso soup and one avocado roll and one shiitake mushroom roll. I was happy to see the shiitake roll on the menu cause it is not as common as other veggie rolls and the two places I used to order from shut down. I love the spicy miso soup. The flavor was amazing and the jalapeños were fresh. A great comfort food after waking around on a colder day. Both my rolls were very good too. Staff is quiet but friendly. I will definitely be back, especially for the soup, a new favorite of mine!

Overall, disappointing. A dark, cramped kind of place and not good value for money - at least in my opinion. Presentation was underwhelming and the waitress was, well, 'dry.' No, 'hello, welcome, is this your first time here, let me tell you about our lunch specials.' Nope, none of that. I ordered the 5 piece Mexican signature maki and 2 pieces of tamago. It came to almost $17.00 which might have been ok, but I was still hungry when I got home.

Tried calling to place an order, they picked up then hung up. When I got to the restaurant, the one person working, there was on the phone clearly having a personal conversation while I stood there. When she finally got off the phone, she muttered some thing and proceeded to ignore me and give the people who were dining in their bill. When she finally got a round to taking my order, she just said, what is the name on the order and I explained that I did not have an order already placed, but I wanted to place an order. She looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears. I placed an order, she took my card swiped it and spun the machine around for mw to leave a tip. Yea, I've gotta tip for you! If your that unhappy with yourself, just quit. Bad customer service. Not coming here again.
