Super nondescript location next to an auto repair shop. We came on a Wednesday evening at 6:30, and had about a 5 min wait. It's a small place so we had no problem waiting. Service was really kind, and they have lots of options, all very affordable. We tried a variety of dishes, from the sashimi and caterpillar rolls to ramen and entree combos. My friend enjoyed his birria ramen but another thought his tonkotsu ramen was only ok. I thought my entree (chicken teriyaki and tataki Kyoto) was pretty good. My caterpillar roll was ok as well, I didn't really see any cucumber on it but the eel sauce was good. I do think there's better sushi in SD but in a quick pinch and for the cost, not bad!

This is a tough one to rate for me personally. The service was great by the young lady as she took our order and provided suggestions and her preferences. The food is good but I wouldn't say truly authentic. If you are curious about Japanese food Sushi Yorimichi is a great place to try different things, especially during their Happy Hour where some of the items are $1-2 less than the regular menu. The food was good but not great. The fried squid legs was one of our favorites as they are fried fresh and hot with a nice plump texture and crunch. The yakitori was priced extremely well, however they were literally tiny. Take a look at my picture for reference. I would gladly pay a little more for bigger pieces because they were delicious. The menchi katsu was good but a bit dry and the side of shrimp tempura is of the premade frozen variety. Please correct me if I'm wrong. For those of you looking for sushi rolls, the El Runes was pretty good.Rather than giving them a 3, I rounded up to 4 stars because of the service and the descent food. If you're looking for authentic and premium sushi, Sushi Yorimichi is not the place. If you're looking for a good meal to get your Japanese fix then make sure you go during their Happy Hour.

Small sushi restaurant located in Linda Vista. I was excited to give this place a try upon seeing the good reviews. Here's our review of what we ordered earlier this evening:Takowasa (3/5): decent: pieces were big.Takoyaki (1/5): the inside consisted of all dough/batter, and a tiny piece of octopus. One of the Takoyaki balls didn't even have any octopus and was literally all dough.. Beef Carpaccio (1/5): terrible. The meat was tough and chewy. This meat tasted like it should not be served raw/semi-raw.Salmon Skin HR (4/5): one of the better items we ordered. However, it had too much rice.Beef Ribeye Skewer (5/5): the best out of everything we ordered. Tender and good flavoring.Linda Vista Roll (3/5): decent. Amaebi (3/5): meaty, but also tasted a bit mushy.Upon ordering, the server dropped off plates and soy sauce dishes for us. One of the soy sauce dishes were chipped... how weird haha. Overall I give the place 2.5 stars. Probably won't be returning.

Birria ramen and sushi! Who would have thought? I was hesitant to try this place, just because the concept of a fusion does not always seem that compelling. Believe it or not, sushi yorimichi can do both really well. Its a small intimate restaurant, definitely don't come expecting an omakase. However, their rolls were fresh and a lot of flavor. The birria ramen was out of this world with so much meat and perfectly textured ramen..and we were so shocked to see how cheap our bill came out to be. Again, it's definitely worth giving this place a chance, the parking lot and the outside make look rough but truly a gem,

Nice little neighborhood sushi spot, it's pretty small and can be hard to get into there during busy times.

What a delight to find a restaurant where everything tastes amazing. What initially drew me in was their wide ranging menu--especially their willingness to serve yakitori during lunch. Most Japanese restaurants only serve yakitori for dinner. And their daytime yakitori of wagyu, rib eye, pork cheek, and chicken thigh was a smoky flavor party delivered on cute little skewers. Also enjoyed their pasta carbonara. It did not rely on oversalting for flavor. Just enough buttery cream for a smooth mouthfeel. Just fabulous. Shout out to their salmon skin roll. The salmon skin was crispy without being overly dried out. Just perfect. The monthly special of salmon belly nigiri was ok. As was the grilled fish collar. Both were cooked just right and tender. But they paled in comparison to the more strongly flavored entrees. Service was friendly and responsive. Will definitely come back to feast again.

This might be my new go-to spot for sushi and for when I'm craving carbonara. Hidden gem in Linda Vista-- you've gotta check this place out!Parking/Ambiance/Service:There were a handful of parking spots up front and a few more on the side. This place is tiny! There were 3 4-person tables, 2 2-person tables plus 4 seats at the bar-- not best for large groups, just a heads up. The inside is decorated as a Traditional Japanese style restaurant, really felt like we were back in Japan! Low key, casual ambiance. Our party of 2 went at 3pm on a Sunday and we were seated right away. Our server was great and food came out very quickly.Food:We loved everything that we ordered. I wish we could have ordered more but these were filling enough. Pricing was very reasonable. The rolls were big (around 8-9 pieces). My husband and I shared all plates and we were pretty stuffed-- had to bring home leftover Udon. -Yorimichi roll ($12): imitation crab, crispy shrimp tempura, cream cheese inside plus suuuper fresh seared salmon, spicy mayo, eel sauce on top.-Surf and skate roll ($12): spicy tuna, crispy shrimp tempura inside plus seared beef, garlic ponzu, yum yum sauce, and fried onion on top. The beef melts in your mouth. -Carbonara udon ($13.25) with bacon- you can choose between bacon, chicken, or shrimp for your protein. Bacon was cooked and tasted like Pancetta. Perfectly runny poached egg on top. Sooo creamy, delicious, and filling. I recommend sharing this.-Grilled salmon belly ($8): part of their monthly special menu. This plate was surprisingly bigger than we thought. This plate was served last and it was grilled to perfection. Melt-in-your-mouth and very flavorful.Overall:I will definitely come back to Sushi Yorimichi to try out more things off the menu and to check out happy hour during the week!

I returned here recently for happy hour and I was impressed. Happy hour selections are only about a dollar less than the normal menu price, but the regular prices for this restaurant are already pretty affordable. We got two sushi rolls today and they both tasted fresh and flavorful. The presentation was nice and the rolls aren't too small. The soy sauce dishes looked like little Shiba Inus, so cute!! Service was friendly today, too.

Just happened to be in the area for a meeting. I looked it up on yelp and saw a great rating. It was correct. I showed up and it was their 3rd anniversary party, I won a gift card!I will be back. A very quaint and cute sushi bar. A really robust food selection, from sushi to yakitori to noodles to entrees. I barely scratched the surface and had 3 delectable items. I got 3 yakitori skewers (chicken, rib eye, wagyu) - all very good, authentically sized too (you can eat a lot of them)Pan fried gyozas were great, I'd like to try the deep fried ones too. Nice dipping sauce and made fresh. Tuna roll was exactly how you want it. Full of flavor, fresh, and filling. Make a visit if you're in the area! Everyone is friendly and helpful too.
