Sushi To Go

Still a regular takeout spot for me. Amazingly, pricing here has not changed since the last time I reviewed them in 2016! This place is one of my favorites for that reason, it is a great value! Is it the highest quality, no. Is the maki super creative, no. Is it a perfect place when you want takeout tasty sushi that won't make you cringe when you get the bill? Yes, yes it is! For an even better value, their lunch specials are terrific, with great portions and very well priced. The lady that owns the restaurant, and is also the chef, is very kind and hardworking. The restaurant is always kept clean, and is very consistent. If you want "to-go" sushi in the Palatine area, there is not better spot.

A great place for well, to go sushi. Inside, it's somewhat small, with several chairs to sit and wait and a small refrigerator with drinks you can purchase, to wash down some of that delicious sushi. There is a menu up top and adjacent wall, where you can pick and order sushi at the register. Sushi takes about 10 to 15 minutes to prepare, and you're on your merry way. I went ahead and ordered the rainbow roll, spider roll, and tuna roll. Total was less than $30 and all the rolls were delicious and on point. Just enough ginger and wasabi with the order too, which some places skimp out on. Not here. I recommend, plenty of parking in the front.

The sushi is pretty good, i would order a lot more from them.But they get a VERY low star for the following reasons1) never answer the phones ... makes take out very hard (they have no dine in)2) they have very little staff working there doing everything, so it takes them forever to make your get your order made (it frequently takes an hour)3) their website hours are not correct, so you never know if they are openBasically ... if you are going to run a Take Out business, you need to answer the answer phone if you want people to place a Take Out order.Back the food. It is all made to order. It is all fresh. It is priced fairly.If you have time to sit in your car and wait, you will have a nice meal when the sushi is prepared.

Really disappointing. Initially when I called to place my order there was a significant language barrier. When I arrived to pick up my order the salad was brown, so I declined that ama did not want that. When I got home to eat the avocado on my rainbow well roll was brown as well. Finally, the service was terrible. She was not friendly or appreciative. And it seemed annoyed that I did not want to eat the brown lettuce salad. She also seemed annoyed that I asked for additional wasabi and ginger and even charged me for it despite the fact that I only had two teeny packets of soy sauce for two full rolls, Really bad service here.

I live nearby, and I finally decided to give it a try. This is a quick, little sushi place. This is not a sit-down place; the name states it all! I ordered two rolls and a side of edamame, all for under 20 dollars! I had the Alaskan Roll (spider crab, salmon, and some veggies), and I had the basic Salmon Roll. Both were rolled nicely, and they stayed intact. Neither roll was too big or too small. The fish was fresh, along with the crunchy crab. The avocado in the salmon was starting to turn a bit brown, but it was not old. Overall, this place is a small treasure! No, you won't get the intimate sit-down style, but you will get tasty sushi for a solid price! I am definitely coming back!

Second time ordering from here and both times have been good. This is not a sit down place so make sure you call your order in advance. I recommend their seaweed salad!

I have been eating here for the last 16+ years. It is the most affordable, and fresh sushi you will find on the go. If you are a tuna fan - the Spicy Tuna Tempura is crispy, rich, and delicious. If you want something lighter I would highly recommend their Yami Tuna. Don't sleep on their spicy ramen either!There are a lot of comments on the staffing here and yes, it seems it is (usually) one woman who owns/cooks/takes orders at the restaurant. Expect it to take more than 5 mins. However, I have seen her grind for almost 2 decades, and I hope our community can continue to support her and her amazing food!

They do not answer their phone when you try to place an order To Go. You know, like their restaurant name?

I have read no bad reviews about this place. the lady that I've always seen working is the sweetest lady and she works so hard. she makes all the rolls right in the back and they're so fresh. prices are amazing and some rolls are only 4$. this local place I totally recommend not only do they have sushi but soups and dumplings. 100% recommend

Fantastic and reasonably priced sushi. Each time we order from here the sushi is fresh made to order. Love this little hidden gem.
