Was really hoping this place would impress based on ratings and it did. Went for noon lunch on a Thursday, seated promptly in the small dining area of 7 tables for 4 plus about 6 seats at sushi bar. Just one server and 4-5 sushi chefs/cooks. Server quick but spoke so quiet we couldn't hear her but managed to get everything right. We ordered one of the lunch bento boxes $20 that included 2 protein choices and came with/ miso soup, nice mixed green salad, CA sushi roll, scoop rice and we chose teriyaki steak & chicken. Couple minutes later we ordered the 3/$35 house rolls which has many options. Oddly we got the sushi rolls before the bento box which was ok. We'll order differently next time as our meats went vary warm after eating just one of the rolls. We prefer them sizzling. Bento was impressive visually and portion wise. Nice to see salad not just basic iceberg. All great but was a bit surprised the meats weren't more tender. Usually teriyaki especially chicken nearly melts in your mouth this was tad bit dry. Maybe they don't marinate the meats. Steak good flavor and perfect pink in middle but again a bit chewy. The 3 sushi rolls were all fresh and delicious. We ordered two different spicy tuna rolls although different they were both spicier than expected so may do just one spicy next time. But again each were very good and rice to filling ratio nice. Living in Puyallup we don't have many sushi options and are just so-so. It was worth the 15-20 min. drive to go here. We will be back! Perk too is delicious doughnut shop next door.

I used to love sushi, Konami, but I came in tonight alone, and something strange happened. My bill was $37 and change. I paid with a $100 bill. They shortchanged me $21. I caught it. I don't think they expected me to and it almost seems like they knew. "Oh so sorry." How terribly terribly disappointing. This place was always a 5 Star place for me before and we always tipped at least 25-30%. It's going to be a while before I come back and I'm going to watch my change like a hawk. You should too.

I love the sushi here! Also love how they have a 3 set of sushi you can choose from with great selection, and I think the price for it is great. I like how their sushi doesn't overload with rice. Overall I think it's a great simple spot!

Update #3 ! So i stopped ordering the miso soup since the tofu looked awfully disintegrated everytime i ordered it and so i ordered the seaweed salad instead. It was very slimy, an indication it was soaked too long. I also ordered the Seahawks roll and was super crunchy with a bit of spice.Overall, still will continue to order my sushi here. Unfortunately, appetizers arent that great here. Will probably just order two rolls next time and save some for later.

This place is outstanding. They have what's probably the most extensive sushi menu I've seen, along with a happy hour menu with very reasonable prices. Service is always fast and efficient, your water glass proactively topped up, and the quality of the fish is better than average. We've been here several times even though there are closer choices to us, and if you're in the area, this place won't disappoint. It's in the same shopping center as Haggen, so there's plenty of parking.

20 years ago, when I decided to leave Bellevue, several people suggested Lakeland Hills to me. I wasn't a fan of the general area and after visiting, I'll just say, this did not appear to be a place that embraced diversity. I chose to remain on the eastside, but have met more and more people from this area over the years and understand their joy in living here. I am not a sushi fan, but restaurant quality teriyaki is a meal I crave on occasion. This place currently has a score of 4.3 on Yelp, so I decided to make a lunch trip to check it out. I was a bit concerned, the Yelp page links to a website, but it's not online. Also, menu photos are years old and these days, you never know how prices have changed. That said, the menu appeared to be the same as it was years ago with very small price changes. I was hoping to do a Bento with Teriyaki, salad, rice, soup and Gyoza, it wasn't an option here. Their bento included sushi and I don't like sushi. I was tempted to ask if they would sub Gyoza making it the perfect meal, but I've found, if it's not offered, don't ask. Some people get offended when you question their menu. In this case, I decided to roll the dice and go with the Gyoza meal. It was 10 pieces, rice and soup. I was nervous when the server asked me if I wanted them deep fried. No self-respecting restaurant deep fries gyoza, but then I remembered where I was and suspect the deep frying started because someone that is not used to real Japanese food requested it and it stuck. You know, the same kind of person that would put butter on their rice. The gyoza were small, but they were also the best gyoza I've had in a long time, possibly a decade or more. Flavorful, juicy and delicious. The miso soup was also served at a completely unsafe heat, but I loved it. Food should be served hot and soup should sizzle, If I don't have to slurp my soup, or blow on it, you haven't done your job!The soy sauce was also made in house, it had that savory, salty liquor taste that you can't get out of a bottle. This place had 5-star potential, but I have some knocks. The portions were small; however, they were in line for the price paid. My lunch was $12 I would have happily paid $15 for the same meal with 2 more gyoza and a small salad, or $17 for the same with two scoops of rice. I left hungry because the portion wasn't hearty enough, but not so hungry that an additional side made sense. Personally, two scoops of rice or a bigger scoop is a must, that was the smallest portion of rice I've seen anywhere. If I were closer, this would be a weekly spot, unfortunately this is just out of the way for me. Better combo/bento options would make this place 5-star in my book and probably draw a bigger crowd.
