Sushi Kappo

The SO had heard that Sushi Kappo was the cheaper alternative to their fancier sister restaurant Ebi Sushi, so we came by for a weeknight dinner. Its interior was pretty humble, probably seen better days. I could see the wear and tear on what would have once been a cute trendy restaurant. The menu boasts a variety of Japanese and Japanese-adjacent foods - sushi, common apps like gyoza and edamame, ramen, sushi burritos, poke, and donburi. We elected to stick with the sushi. We ordered 4 rolls to share: salmon with avocado, Crazy Maki, caterpillar, and Miso Salmon. And honestly they were all pretty good! They were nicely presented, were a good size, and most importantly tasted good. My personal favorite was the Crazy Maki. Least favorite was probably the Miso Salmon which had both a thick sweet miso sauce AND black truffle mayo and together made for a kind of weird combo. Importantly, the prices were reasonable in my opinion. I feel like it's rare to see a sushi restaurant offering special rolls less than $15 now.

Since this place is nearby and seems to have some good dinner options, we came here on the later side and got two bowls of ramen. The bowls came a little slow for there being no one else in the restaurant, and one of the bowls had a soapy taste. I wasn't particularly impressed with the flavor or toppings either. For example, the meat looked saucy and delicious but was dry and difficult to chew. I also felt that the portion was a little small for the price. I don't think they are known for their ramen however, and may come back to try their sushi.

Sushi Kappo has bubble tea and fruit iced tea drinks now!!I went on Friday evening to get a boba tea but they were out of boba so went back on Saturday afternoon and got a Taro milk tea with 30% sugar and very little ice. It was nice, milky and creamy tasting and the bobas were nice too. Place was mostly empty and it was only a short wait for the tea. Service was friendly.We usually just get sushi pick-up from here or in the summer sit outside so first time sitting inside while waiting for the order. Cool interior wall and ambiance.They also have a couple other new entree dishes on their menu now so will have to return to try those at some point.

Sushi Kappo has quickly become one of my favorite sushi places in Boston. I got the Boston sushi burrito, which has salmon, crab meat, cream cheese, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, crispy tempura flakes, and tobiko. The salmon is very fresh and the portion size is just right. At first, I asked the staff if I can have the cream cheese removed because I am not a big fan of having a chunk of cream cheese in sushi. However, the staff told me that the cream cheese is actually mixed in with the crab meat. I took her recommendation to keep it and it turned out great! This place is located in the Fenway area and a 10-min walk from the MFA. I will definitely come back here to try other things on their menu.

We came here as a second round of food to eat lightly, to which the food wasn't bad! It's what you would expect from a sushi burrito. The sumo burrito was solid (had a lot of flavor of the eel) but the Kappa burrito was not as good because you couldn't taste the salmon/just a bland burrito overall. The people were super friendly. Love the setting of the place and was a nice area to chill! I would come here again if I wanted a small bite of something during the day but not the first place to think of.

Best. sushi. ever. the spicy crispy california rolls are to die for. i even scraped the plate clean of the crispy bits. we also got the pork buns. the bun on the outside was pillowy soft and the pork was tender. the tan tan ramen was delicious and the egg was cooked to perfection. the pork dumplings were good, but nothing to rave about. the sauce that came on the side however was impeccable. not really a sit down and get service kind of vibe. you order at the counter and they bring it to where you're sitting. the boba is also delicious. i 100% recommend this place to all.

Super yummy lunch place! I tried the Kappo sushi burrito and it hit the spot :) I loved the different fillings--great flavor and texture, and I felt like the ratio of fresh vegetables to fish was good. I also appreciated how there wasn't too much rice, which sometimes detracts from sushi burritos at other places that use it as filler. Poké places often have sushi burritos that taste more like poké--this one tasted closer to a maki roll with extra veggies and crab salad packed in.I think it was a good amount of food for me--I was quite full after finishing, but I could imagine other people with bigger appetites being not quite full with just a sushi burrito. There are a number of other options on the menu that look great, though!Overall though, it was super delicious, and I'm definitely going to try to come again! The outdoor seating was great for social distancing and was nice during the midday, especially now that it's springtime.

Food: OMG HANDS DOWN BEST SUSHI IN TOWN. SOOOOOO YUMMY. All of these rolls were BOMB, decently priced for their size, GREAT variety, food was fast, I came with 3 friends and we ate a good amount because it was SOOOO good (we're HUGE foodies). Even their edamame was delicious. Sushi Kappo IS THE BEST - I don't think you can ever go wrong with anything from there. I'd come back in a heart beat.Location: GREAT outdoor seating, St Peterborough St (and Fenway in general ) has TONSSSS of amazing restaurants and great night life if you're into that stuff (I'm not, lol). Great place to hang out in the summer, the Rose Garden by the Fens is also pretty in the summer. I loveeee all the restaurants on St Peterborough.

Was advertised online that there is a " Happy Hour! 10% off all items!" Upon driving 30 minutes to get to the location, the worker first claimed that it was no a thing anymore (despite the website dating it June 2). After talking the worker then said I needed to order online to get the discount, which was also not true. Lastly she claimed that the things I ordered was not eligible. Feels like a scam.

Mostly a takeout place. Service is very good! Had a poki bowl and a burrito. Good for what it is and if you need something in a rush.
