My go to sushi spot! The food here is great. The rolls are big and the prices are very reasonable. The parking lot is really small though, so you might have trouble finding a spot during lunch time. However, at night, the businesses in the plaza are closed so parking is better.

Sushi Kami is an unassuming sushi spot in Rancho Bernardo area. They may be Korean-owned because I heard their staff speaking Korean amongst themselves. They have a small parking lot. Across the street is Phil's BBQ. They have an extensive menu. They list a bunch of rolls, but it would be helpful to have photos. Sushi is good. Udon is good. The rolls we got were really pretty. Maybe it was the lighting or the ingredients they use in the sauce. They were glazed-looking rather than doused in spicy mayo sauce. When we first got there we had to wait because they didn't have tables available for five people. But when we checked in a second time, they asked if we wanted a booth table and have a chair at the side. Why didn't they say that in the beginning??

We were doing errands in the area and I discovered this great sushi place hidden right by some office buildings. This place looks tiny on the outside but is the perfect fit for a nice lunch. The decorations and environment really sets the scene for the sushi.They have a great layout for lunch and a nice menu full of specials and numerous rolls. The waitress was great and had plenty of recommendations. We ordered a few rolls as well as a lunch special for our table.The food prices especially the lunch special offers all come with miso soup, salad, and the prices are great! They cater a lot to the local businesses. The rolls and food were delicious. Highly recommend this place for a perfect lunch and dinner place! Check it out!

Sushi Kami is one of my family favorites, and always a spot we visit in San Diego. The prices are decent and the quality of the food fairly good. Normally it's not very busy, either, but the parking lot can be a bit tight at times.

I tried the sushi combo "b" for lunch -- it was filling and hit the spot for roughly $27. The nigiri was decent quality, I've had better and I've had worse. I think it's a pretty good deal for the amount of food, so I would probably get it again if I were in the area.

Disappointing. I was here a like a year ago and thought the place was pretty good. Came back today and was not at all impressed. The rolls are more rice than fish. Every roll had "krab" in them. Reminded me of AYCE places that stuff excessive rice to fill you up. Flavor was meh. Fish was more chewy than anything. Won't come back or recommend. Service was quick, place was just okay but can get noisy.

This is the best place in town if you want to get fresh and delicious sushi. The ambience is casual and the weight staff is super nice and attentive. It's really the only restaurant I go to in Rancho Bernardo.I highly recommend the salmon skin hand roll, the lemon, salmon, roll, and the mango roll. Also, make sure you ask for fresh cut wasabi because it's way better than the usual kind. I also really like that they have gluten-free soy sauce.

Solid spot in Rancho Bernardo for specialty rolls. The nigiri is okay but kind of expect that for mid-tier sushi. We went here for my dad's birthday and got a bunch of apps, specialty rolls, and the Kami Combo B. The highlights were the tuna tataki salad, the kama, and some of the specialty rolls. The nigiri from the combo was okay. The fish was pretty good but wished it was cut more delicately and not so chuncky. Overall great spot, staff was awesome, and decor is inviting.

Food is decent but quite expensive. 1 sushi roll cost upwards of $18 with only 8-12 pieces. Considering the price I expect better quality food. Their bento box is also $20+ which is quite expensive given the quality. Again food is OK, but for the price, you can get better quality food elsewhere.
