This is one of my go to spots for sushi! My absolute favorite is their baked scallop roll and their college roll is a second favorite. Service can be a bit slow when they have a good amount of customers since usually there's only one or two serves working. They usually have music playing which is nice, and the seating is in booths so you have your own private space to enjoy your meal. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because their menu items are very similar, so you won't find as much variety as other sushi spots.

This is without a doubt the worst sushi experience I've ever had. The restaurant is hot, there are flies inside, it's all in all not a good environment. Now for the food. I ordered nigiri to start. The fish quality was decent. Definitely not fresh, but hey you get what you pay for. But the rice under the fish was hard. Like it was sitting out for hours. The taste and texture of it was totally off-putting. Next was the "no name" roll. Again, you could just tell it was not fresh. Cheap ingredients that felt like they'd been sitting out for hours. The gyoza tasted like Costco brand gyoza that had been dropped into a fryer. And lastly the grand finale, the stuffed jalapeno. This was not just the worst stuffed jalapeno I've ever had, it was one of the worst food items I believe I've ever had. Old warm cream cheese covered in spicy mayo and eel sauce with some type of dry crumbling mystery meat mixed inside. It was absolutely heinous. All in all I would not recommend this place and will never be eating here again. Choosing to eat here made my life worse. (The waitress was very nice and helpful though, nothing wrong with the service)

Okay, this was my second time coming to Sushi Factory and it was exactly as I remember. Simple, decent, affordable, and satisfying. It's certainly not something to look forward to as you would a beautiful omakase, but it scratches a certain itch when you want a few standard rolls like a spicy tuna and a carafe of sake without breaking the bank. The sushi doesn't stop at the spicy tuna rolls as I suggested above but I don't really get too adventurous at places like this. Stick to the basic fish that is readily available and popular like tuna and salmon. I could be completely wrong but I tend to believe that fish like this would be ordered by the customers more often and in turn the restaurant probably orders them more often too. Are they going to be fresher than the others? I'll keep telling myself that, don't burst my bubble. In summary, there is a time and place for cheap(ish) sushi and when I have a hankering for it, Sushi Factory is just close enough for me to indulge.

I have loved the sushi here for a long time, but would like a better explanation and issue resolved... We order at least once per week via DoorDash.Tonight we had an order confirmed through the app, a driver was sent to the restaurant, and upon arrival at Sushi Factory they were told "the order was never processed and the kitchen is closed" so you as a driver, and our client as a patron, are screwed. I simply ask for a level of accountability. Our order was placed 15 minutes prior to close and shown as accepted. It's a huge inconvenience for a DoorDash driver to waste their time and gas going to a restaurant and being told this, furthermore, it wasted our ability to order else where since many restaurants are now closed. I hope the management can look into this and ensure that this issue is handled and doesn't occur in the future.

I'll start with the good and say our waitress was very nice, and she was working hard running from table to table and taking care of to go orders. With that being said, this is probably the worst sushi place I've eaten at, and the most expensive. Vons sushi is better. They bring you full orders to fill you up on one or two things even though is almost $40 per person, so you can't try much of the menu. Really not worth it. Very bad experience. I felt sick looking at the sushi they brought out because it was very unappetizing. Everything that was fried was super oily like it was fried in old oil. First and last time here, and I do notttttt recommend this place!!!! They charge you for sushi you don't eat, and again, they bring out a full 8 piece roll to fill you up so you can't try multiple menu items. So disappointed. I'd give it a one star if the waitress wasn't so polite and patient.

I've repeatedly skipped over this establishment many times reading reviews and wanting to try but never attempting to since I thought it was be subpar and similar to the old RB Sushi. Well I'm so glad I gave this place a try! Especially with it being closer to home and since Olleh shut down now.Its located in the corner of a tiny plaza with limited parking in the back along with street parking. Its right across the street from Sang Dao and oddly I've driven past hundreds of times but never noticed it. They have all you can eat option or a la carte. We opted in ayce. You have about 3 rounds but the girl said its unlimited rounds but we ordered so much food and only did 1 round anyway. If I'm not mistaken it was about $37/adult and kids 4-10 were $18 so about average. They also have a nice happy hour list too!I really was expecting below basic or basic sushi rolls but honestly the rolls we got was pretty good. We ordered sashimi which didn't taste fresh but it was decent. Their hot foods are really good too! Definitely telling my friends and family about this place and will be a loyal customer!

I got these two rolls to go and they were both super good. I had both of these rolls to myself and it was definitely filling. The sauce on both of these rolls were delicious and I would definitely order them again.

Ordered a simple avocado roll. Received a warm, brown, mushy roll. Where is the integrity? Why run a business if you don't have pride in the food you serve to the community?

My best friend and I were craving sushi and we decided to give this place a try because it was the closest sushi spot near SDSU. We were going to do take out but we decided to dine in because we loved the decor and the music they were playing. The ambiance was welcoming and it was not busy during the time we went. We got our food within 10 minutes and the sushi was amazing! I could tell this place is definitely the go-to neighborhood sushi spot by the amount of take out orders they had. I love to support local businesses and I will definitely come back.
