So we used to go here regularly, but haven't been in a while. They are under new ownership and it has not changed for the good. The food was poorly made. Lets start from the top:1. They now bring out miso soup, but it just isn't good. It is like a cheap packaged miso soup from the grocery store, like the one that is in the clearance bin because no one buys it. No flavor.2. I ordered Saba, which comes with salad and rice. The Saba was terrible, so fishy it must have been really old. You expect an oily fish with a salty, fatty taste. This was dry and stunk.3. They replaced that with bulgogi, which was really bad. The meat was ok, but it just tasted like they dumped a bowl of sugar in a couple of tablespoons of soy sauce and called it bulgogi sauce.4. Other had Kalbi, once again sauce bad. Tempura shrimp, which was average at best. Tempura noodle soup - again tempura average. Then two other soups which were OK.5. We ordered some sushi rolls, but they were down a sushi chef and after waiting a long time, we gave up and canceled the order.Sadly, I won't be back. It is not the same as it was. Also, they are missing the things that made the previous place good. The Bim Bap is gone, so are the rolls that I liked (note that I can't say what the rolls taste like because we never got them and never will). All I can say to the owner, you are trying to do too much, you need to focus your menu and not try to make every dish on the planet. If you goal is to try and do everything, you won't do anything good. Talk to the previous guys, they knew what to do, what you have now is going to fail. I would start with cutting 75% of your menu, just focus on making a few good dishes then when you get that down, add to what you offer.

Finally came to sit inside and try something new!I love it here. I couldn't deviate from my favorite, flaming salmon. It's so good when made fresh. My daughter wanted to try beef udon. The broth was so flavorful and delicious, lots of meat and thick noodles. Yummy! We even tried some dessert, sticky mango rice. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it tasted ok. Not sure what I expected so im not one to say it wasn't good. A bit too sweet and mango wasn't very flavorful.

Great service, the staff is really attentive and nice. Sushi rolls are fantastic as well, they have great signature ones.

Excellent Sushi and Chinese food. The sushi rice is so fresh and light. The General Tso's Chicken was amazing large tender chunks of chicken with a light coating and a nice rich sauce. The Singapore noodles were good but very mild flavor profile. The Hong Kong pan fried crispy noodles were great with a nice variety of vegetables on top and a robust sauce. The Hawaiian Poke roll was good. The Flaming Salmon roll was great but rather smokey in flavor.

Sushi Chinoise is located by the Villas at Beardslee in a small retail strip. It's almost a surprise to find a sushi restaurant here. Parking is plentiful, including a garage underneath. We arrived after 7pm on a Sunday, missing most of their peak time. Apparently, they were super busy, especially with the sushi orders. They only had one sushi chef working that night. Be aware if you don't want to wait. We had excellent service from our server. Rounded up 0.5 Stars for service.Food wise, most dishes are between 3 to 3.5 Stars. The fish and seafood are pretty fresh, but it's clear that they mostly sell rolls as they served too-cold sashimi. Tempera is a failure, too. Cost is reasonable but not low. Portion size is ok to a bit dainty. If I was in the Bothell area craving sushi, I might return. Otherwise, I wouldn't purposely travel here. The Food:Tiger Roll, $16 - 3 StarsMenu: Snow crab, avocado, tobiko & Japanese mayo, topped with tuna & unagi, drizzled with unagi sauce & spicy mayoWe ordered two of these. The composition of this roll should have been great. Unfortunately, the unagi sauce is too heavy handed and ruined it. Too sweet. This is a dainty 8-pieces roll.Spider Roll, $12 - 3 StarsIt's a fairly standard spider roll. This roll is too small. 5 pieces total, including the 2 end pieces. Hawaiian Poke Roll, $15 - 3.5 StarsMenu: Tuna wrapped roll filled with avocado, cucumber, tempura scallions & chili sesame sauceThe tuna with the spicy chili sauce has a nice little kick to it. This is a dainty 8-pieces roll.Rainbow Roll, $15 - 3.5 StarsFairly standard rainbow roll. This is a dainty 8-pieces roll.Volcano Roll, $15 - 3.5 StarsMenu: Snow crab, avocado & spicy tuna with a drizzle of spicy mayo & unagi sauce. Tempura style. The presentation is rather cute. The unagi sauce is also too heavy handed making it sweet. This is a dainty 6-pieces roll.Vegas Roll, $12 - 3 StarsMenu: Tempura style sushi roll with spicy tuna, avocado, cream cheese & unagi sauceA 6-pieces roll with a slightly bigger cross section. Nothing special. Sunset Roll, $16 - 4 StarsMenu: Coconut shrimp, snow crab & mango, rolled in soy paper, crispy tenkatsu with spicy mayo & unagi sauceThis is their tropical roll. The coconut shrimp adds a different flavor profile. Seared Salmon Belly Nigiri, $7 - 5 StarsOut of everything we ordered, this seared salmon belly is the absolute best bite of the night. Highly recommend. Hamachi Kama, $8 - 4.5 StarsThis is off-menu and need to ask or pre-order. The hamachi collar is well sized and grilled perfectly. Toro Sashimi, 3 pcs, $18 - 2.5 StarsWhen it comes to serving sashimi, I consider one of the biggest no-no's is serving it too cold (or too warm, eew). The center of the toro was borderline icy compared to the edges. Shrimp Tempura, $12, Veggie Tempura, $12 - 2 StarsThe tempura is rather ugly and poorly executed. There is much better tempura at many other eateries.

A hidden gem near Bothell Downtown. Happily stumbled upon it today and tried some of their dishes. It's close to 405 and has a nice ambience. Next to a bar (public house) in case you have to wait for a table. For us it was a breeze check-in and food showed up within 10 minutes of ordering. Tried the Seahawks roll and the volcano roll, along with the beat Bobby flay bibimbap. Tasty food across the board, note that the bibimbap is a cold sushi version and not the hot version. Another tip, their house Merlot is very good. So save money by ordering the house red.

This review makes me really sad. We were regulars at this restaurant, until they recently went through an ownership change. The new owner chose to make the menu more generic, not only taking away tried and true crowd-pleasers but also most everything else we ever ordered. Gone are ingredients (I'd assume are more expensive) like escolar, eel, mango and chopped squid. Also? He fired the entire staff- with no notice. Prior to that we had remarked that the once immaculately clean, tight ship run by manager Ginger, was slipping- their previous always 'excellent' health code rating was now just a 'good'. We're sad to close this chapter, but happy to take our money elsewhere.

If you want to wait a LONG time, this is the expensive sushi place for you. While the food is tasty, it's not worth the money, and the service is the worst I've had in a long time. We haven't visited here in a long time and now we most likely won't be back. Once someone finally came to take our order, the food came quickly, but no one ever refilled our drinks. We also would have ordered more sushi if anyone had checked on us. I am aware that some places continue to have staffing issues, but sharing with the customer goes a long way in understanding. The table next to us had some of the same issues, had to ask for a waiter in order to get drinks and apps started, then had to ask again to place their food order. You shouldn't have to request initial service at a restaurant...

Sushi Chinoise is lucky to even get a one star. I will no longer be wasting my time or money at this location. Been coming here at least once a month with my co-workers and we used to love everything on the menu especially the beat bobby flay. Recently stopped by and to our surprise the whole menu has been revamped (and not in a good way what-so-ever) they got rid of many of our fav dishes. The prices for the dishes are nowhere compared to the quality of the food. My co-workers were less than satisfied after this recent trip and will no longer be making our way here. We will be in search of a new spot unfortunately. This place used to be it but it is no longer the sushi place for us.

This has been my favorite sushi place in the Bothell/Woodinville area for years -- a really innovative, high-quality menu with a lot of unique choices. But a couple months ago they revamped their menu with the most generic-pan-Asian-restaurant menu and removed literally every item I've ever ordered there before. I assume there must have been an ownership change since even Chef Thoa's most famous dishes are all gone.
