Sushi By Bosso

Very friendly staff with fresh ingredients. Assorted Sashimi plates: the variety of sashimi was very fresh. I really enjoyed salmon, scallop, and yellow tail. The only trouble I had was eating tuna belly (toro) as it was really tough - the fat and muscle part was not fully separated. Black cod with miso: very tender and savory. It was so soft and juicy, and want so well with miso sauce. Mandarin jelly with whipped cream: was labelled as signature so ordered but pretty disappointed as the combination did not work well. The mandarin pudding was too sweet with the cream being also sweet. I was hoping to try different desserts :/ Other than that, the staffs were very friendly and the overall vibe was great!

Was craving sushi and passed by this "hot and new" gem. So happy I went in because I'll be back for sure!! Sat at the bar area and ordered an Aviation cocktail and Bosso omakase nigiri 13pc. I wanted something light for dinner and this hit the spot. For someone who dislikes eel, uni and ikura, I still wanted to try the set anyway and wow, I was surprised that the uni wasn't as fishy as I thought it would be. The uni was good here!! Normally I hate it so I'm glad this place surprised me! I told the owner(?) and he was saying something about it that now I forgot heh oop. Fruit-fly memory. Drink is strong enough but not too strong where you drunk you know what I mean? Lol Only thing Ill say is the drink menu is hard to read when the letters are vertical but I get you were trying to go for the japanese style of writing vibe maybe? LolThe vibes are here for sure. Date night or solo or with friends, you'll be guaranteed a cool vibe. Service is great here too. Friendly people. They greet you when you come in and leave. So cute! I'll be back!!! For another round of omakase and maybe a dessert next time!

Great food on Newbury st! They serve Omakase nigiris 13pc for dinner, 11pc for lunch at $38 and $37 respectively. Dinner comes with miso soup and lunch comes with miso soup and salad. Both come with matcha mochi which were freshly made and so delicious! Fish pieces were not as vibrant in color compared most other good sushi restaurants but that might be because they choose fish without (much or any! coloring added. I'm not entirely sure. Fish options for the omakase dinner included sea bream, ikura, uni, squid (one of the best i've had!), unagi, salmon, fatty tuna, regular tuna, marinated tuna, yellowtail, jumbo shrimp, scallop and omelet. Rice was also not too much which I appreciate. Also ordered the potato salad which is one their signature. Comes in a bed of fried onion. Potato salad is made with boiled eggs, pickled vegetables. Not too salty or sweet. Service was wonderful. Our server was very kind and friendly. Tailored to our needs well! The interior is a mix of modern, class and Japanese styles. Very clean space and comforting yet upbeat music.

Stopped in for lunch, wonderful omakase nigiri plate for $38! Nice variety of fresh fish and uni. Would have preferred a little more rice under the fish but that's personal preference. Paired it with a glass of sake, just wonderful.They opened a month ago and have wine, beer, and sake. Limited rolls, seems to be more traditional sashimi and nigiri, proper sushi if you ask me ;)

I stopped in for lunch after seeing the sign advertising sushi out on the sidewalk. I ordered the bosso omakase nigiri, that came with 11 pieces of nigiri, along with miso soup, salad, and two pieces of matcha mochi for dessert. The food was excellent, all the sushi tasted fresh and the cuts of fish were delicious. Service was fast and attentive, and the owner (who was also the waiter) was very friendly in the restaurant. I'm only in Boston for the weekend, but if I come back again Sushi by Bosso will definitely be on my list to visit.

I went in for lunch alone (and maybe that was my mistake), and I dont know if they changed their menu, but I didn't receive the uni with my bosso omakase like how I've seen online, and they also told me they didn't have the scallop. They said they I could substitute with another piece, so I ordered the fatty tuna, and they told me it would be extra for the fatty tuna. The fatty tuna pieces that I expected to be tender were not tender,they were stringy and not great. I was kind of sad because it felt like I got scammed. Everyone I know was hyping this place up, so I was pretty excited only to be met up with disappointment. :( Unfortunately, I didn't take photos, so I got no proof, only my own review of what happened, so rip me

It's a beautiful restaurant and the seafood is very fresh! The service is great and the staff were very welcoming. Prices are reasonable (13 piece omakase for $38) and the food is delicious! I'd come again for sure!!

Been a few times and am trying new items each time. Start with a sashimi platter on your first go around. Or a maki roll or sushi platter. Caesar salad with blackberries is a nice touch. Service always nice.

This restaurant's speed is terrible. We were waiting for very long to receive our food. This restaurant is understaffed and a quick meal turned into an hour long fiasco. The food we received was good at best. The wagyu beef was good but not worth $28. This is a new restaurant but seriously they need to get their stuff together.
