OF in the bar in the front of the place. But a friendly heads up, this isn't the same spot.

Pre dinner 12 seat cozy lounge area. Fairly certain this is where I was supposed to receive my champagne cocktail.
The crab nigiri with the optional truffle shaving on top. 10/10 I'll return for this bite alone.

The extra $20 bite afterward. Otoro with frozen fois gras shaving on top. Sounds odd, but it was delectable.
1st course. Tartare hand roll. Excellent. Mint leaf a nice touch.

It is quite exciting to see Nashville have a sushi omakase now. Sushi Bar Nashville is one of five locations from the Sushi Bar Hospitality group. This is my first time dining with them and long story short it was a great time. From start to finish, the meal was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was expertly crafted, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors and textures that delighted the palate. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment, with its sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. You start off the evening with a refreshing cocktail at Golden Sound and once it is time to enter the dining area, you are taken to the private sushi bar where you'll enjoy the meal. I appreciated the chefs' detailed explanations of each course, which enhanced the dining experience by providing insightful context and highlighting the artistry behind each dish. The chefs also encourage interaction with them as well as your fellow patrons. This is great for extroverts but if you're someone who is more introverted then that could be a negative. Overall, it was a memorable experience that combined exquisite cuisine with a thoughtful presentation and a warm, inviting setting. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-tier omakase adventure. I will certainly go back again to see how the menu evolves with the seasons.

My friend and I came to celebrate my birthday. This experience felt very special. Our reservation was for 5:45 pm, but they let us know to show up 15 minutes early for a welcome drink. When we arrived we were in a private room with other patrons and a lovely cocktail and mocktail to sip on before our names were called to eat. It seems they wait for everyone to arrive before they seat you all so it's very important to not be late or you'll hold up the other patrons and the service itself. Once our names were called, we were led into a back room and found our name plates, which were our seats. A handwritten card was waiting for us, which I thought was a lovely little touch. The food. This omakase spot had a variety of different dishes for us to try, but the unique thing was the toppings. Each dish had a carefully executed topping oozing with flavor onto the meat. The meats were all very tender and easy to eat. The chefs would tell you about each dish before serving you. Each dish was carefully crafted and looked very appetizing. A tip- If you go, be sure to keep the plate they serve the meat on - on the counter!!! Some guests kept bringing their plate down and it would disrupt the flow a little bit. Overall, I really enjoyed this experience. I liked learning about each dish, the name cards, the welcome cocktail, the dishes all looked wonderful, and the dessert was the perfect refreshing way to end. I am not giving it 5 stars because for me while the toppings were unique and tasty, they were also a bit overpowering and didn't always allow you to taste the actual fish. I really like fish so that may be a preference. The restaurant definitely takes extra steps to make this a special night out. So while the toppings may have been overpowering for me, I would come back again. Oh one thing I thought was very unique was that they not only had a sake pairing option, but a wine pairing option, a champagne pairing option, and a premier sake pairing option! I felt that was another nice touch because not everyone loves sake so if you have a friend that loves wine or champagne then they have options besides sake.

Memorable experience. Will book a 9:30 seating again and hope they have an optional extra delicious bite afterward for $20 (in this case otoro with frozen shaved fois gras on top). Lots of clever flavor combinations that work very well, with the only miss imo being the one w the dollop of salsa on it. Almost had fish taco vibes but the intent was thoughtful and well executed. Delicious sake pairing for $95, highly recommended. Would have liked at least 1-2 more hand rolls, as there was only 1 (tartare 1st roll) included in the 16 courses (17th is desert). Unless ya get lucky at the 9:30 seating there isn't an option to buy additional pieces of your favorite bites. Do not come hungry, view it as edible art. Eat a snack before to make the most out of this experience. The head sushi chef and his staff are all very engaging which is a nice touch as some of these type of places the staff is cold/distant. The pacing is perfect, you never feel stuck. The next piece is being prepared before your eyes and then one of the staff explains in detail the process & ingredients. 2 hours flew bye.Would be 5 stars but had to eat afterwards after spending $470 due to being still hungry ($165 is just the starting rate for the omakase... you'll want the truffle and caviar upgrades they offer pre meal for the 2 pieces they pair with, and ya won't regret it..) . Granted, $30 of that was due to them not notifying me of the pre-dinner free cocktail so I had to buy an OF at the bar in the front of the establishment which I came to find out is a completely different business. You might be thinking this is user error - and you're correct - but upon sitting down we asked the bartender if we were in the right spot for the sushi place and he said yes. And after responding to Sushi Bar's "where are you" text with "at the bar", they didn't come get us nor did they offer the complimentary cocktail when waiting in the lounge area pre-dinner (about 10 mins of sitting on a chair looking to make eye contact with someone to order another drink). At the time I wasn't even aware I was supposed to get the free cocktail, as the guest I went with received the instructions, I'm just reading other reviews and feeling a tad slighted. Wordy complaint but don't get it twisted, this place is fantastic, serving up the city's finest sushi and I'll definitely be coming back in the future!

WOW! A culinary experience i've never encountered in Nashville- and I've been here 13 years. Enter 15 minutes early and receive a complimentary welcome cocktail in a really vibe-y area. You are then escorted into the main dining area that seats about 12 for a very intimate and personalized experience! Anthony was so knowledgeable about the foods, Daniel was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, and Travis was constantly around in case we needed anything else. They ask for allergies before you get there and confirm when you arrive. Please note, there is not a menu, it is omakase and it will be mainly sushi/fish - meaning you can't just decide you want a steak instead, but trust me, you want what they serve you!! I will be going back!! It was amazing, a perfect date night spot or even solo- everyone was chatting so you will get to know the people around you (if you want to)!

Wonderful experience. They text you a couple days before your reservation to get the names of people in your party so they can personalize the experience with name cards at your seat. You arrive early for a welcome champagne cocktail in a separate lounge, then you are led to a 16 course sushi tasting menu. They explain each dish and make the sushi in front of you. It was so delicious! My one recommendation would be to eat a modest dinner a few hours beforehand. Not very filling, I would treat it as a tasting and definitely get a bottle of sake, their selection is great.

This is an amazing addition to the Nashville food scene. My son and I have experienced Omakase across the country and this was a standout experience! The fish was fresh, the unique flavor combinations were amazing and the service was impeccable! If you love food and sushi, you don't want to miss out on this!

A truly unique and superb experience.I've been to the Austin location and had high expectations. The experience is curated from the moment you arrive and get a welcome cocktail in the lounge. The room is small and your 17 types of nigiri are listed in order behind the chef. The quality of seafood was the best in Nashville and the creativity in each bite was refreshing. Every bite was different and I had multiple flavor combinations I have never had before. They have a decent sake menu but also offer curated sake and champagne pairings should you choose.Highly recommend.

We were here for my wife's 30th reunion and decided to swing by the gulch. Coming from New York we have some of the best sushi in the world and I have omakase hundreds of times in Japan, New York, Canada, and many more places. This is a honest review. Most l Fish was decent, have had fresher fish before. The toppings overpower most fish ( probably because it's not very fresh). The service is confusing multiple chefs are making my Sushi so every piece comes out different? Rice portion and fish portions varied all throuhout the night. Half the time the rice of falling apart even before picking it up...Our chef was knowledgeable but the other chefs looked very inexperienced and nervous. Was not authentic but seemed American corporate feeling to this omakase. If you've never done omakase before you might like it. But there are definitely others out there that are much better and for a fraction of the price!
