Sushi Ari

First off the service was excellent! Cody is probably the best waitress ever! All of the sushi was yummy and the restaurant has a local vibe that's inviting and friendly.

I would give a 5 stars the first time when I first visit. I got uni and rainbow roll. Both of them are really fresh and tasty. Especially the uni, made me crave for more for a week. I was thinking this might be the place for me if I don't go to Seattle for sushi. However when I came back again yesterday, it changed my mind. The uni was bitter and all the sushi weren't fresh to me. It tasted day old or more to me. The sushi broke so easily before I even bite it. I was very disappointed on this and I spent $50 on it when the Otoro, uni and rainbow rolls weren't even fresh and did not taste good. The service were great, the hostess were super sweet and nice. For the environment, it was pretty busy for a Tuesday. There were a wait for a table but I got a take out.

Overall, the claim to the best sushi in Puyallup was pretty accurate, but I've only tried 2 places so far. Codie greeted me when I walked in with a very warm smile and an inviting tone to her voice. I immediately felt like I could hang out here. I ate way too much sushi because it was all so good. The catch is can you ever have too much sushi?? At this place no! Their selection is amazing and I would've taken more pictures of everything that I ordered and devoured, but I was starving and this place hit the spot! Jackie the sushi chef has good recommendations and I will return!

They didn't have Umi which was why I went there & it's on the menu, so disappointing. Also, the Saba fish was dry, along with the not so fresh Spider roll. The only thing that was decent was the veggie tempura.I don't recommend; however, there's not a lot of other sushi restaurants in that area.

It had been long time since last visit. Wish they opened earlier than 3:00. Got there when they opened, started with both seaweed & squid salads, very good. I had hot sake and hubby had "house made" lemonade, doubt it was freshly made but he liked it. Then we ordered teriyaki chicken meal, very delicious. Enjoy their house salad dressing, citrusy and palate cleansing. For rolls we had the Spider, Heaven of Tuna and Killer salmon roll. The hit was the baked salmon, warm rich and yummy. The other two were OK, hubby did like the Heaven one with its slight sweetness, didn't really see or taste the tuna. The Spider was disappointing, no crab or seafood to be found in the roll other than inedible hard fried tempura shell at the ends, odd. Our server was sweet & attentive for most part, just at the end I tried to get her attention for nearly 5 mins. but she was standing behind a tall case and couldn't see me. Prices were good on the teriyaki and salads but the rolls a bit pricey for lacking seafood. I think we'd go back and try other rolls and definitely get teriyaki.

One of my top favorite sushi restaurants in the area! Best service, and ambiance imo. It's quiet and intimate so a great date night spot! The sushi was fantastic and we'll definitely be returning. I've already done takeout a few times since then too. Overall, top pick!

Love this place it's just a really small dine in seating. Half the time we order to pick up. Calimari sauce is good, Killer salmon roll is my go to, or fisherman's feast. I have yet to be disappointed. No 5 star due to long wait period sometimes even with a call in order we were told 25-30min, husband gave them 40mins and when he got there it was another 20min wait.

I lost my appetite when I realized the sushi chef wasn't using gloves when preparing the sushi. I didn't see him wash his hands once while sitting at the sushi bar. He fed himself and touched his hair in between making sushi. The Ari salad and tempura (although vegetables weren't cooked all the way through) we're the only items I enjoyed. The nigiri also wasn't fresh.

This is hit or miss. The takeout I have ordered online has been generally pretty tasty and fresh. Although, when we dined in, my husband and I had half our order never arrive to our table. We tried asking but our waitress never came back. The half that did arrive had frozen tasting scallops, which was disappointing. It was very busy and unfortunately there were not enough staff to keep things running. We would love to try again due to the fact that the food I've ordered online has been tasty! It is quite small inside but it can fit quite a few people.
