Sunset Bistro

Great place, real nice ambiance,really nice bar.Went on a Tuesday and had the Special Jager Schnitzel, awesome good, get red cabbage and Spatial for a side. Wife had a Gyro, this sandwich was enormous in size and flavor, had enough to bring home for another sandwich. This place is a gem in the valley. Plenty of parking!!!! You can only get German food on Tuesday... Chicken soup is also awesome, homemade and plenty of chicken.......

My friend told me about Sunset Bistro having specials each day of the week. He said Tuesday's they have German food and they make a great schnitzel. My friend, brother and I all had the Jager Schnitzel (pork cutlet). It comes with 2 side dishes. I had the Potato pancakes ( a small side of apple sauce) and the Spätzle ( egg noodles). The Schnitzel comes with a small cup of mushroom gravy where you can liberally pour or dunk the Schnitzel. The Schnitzel in spots was a little tough but very good. I did use the mushroom gravy with Spatzle to cut the saltiness taste. The Potato pancakes with the apple sauce was delicious. Who would think a Mediterranean restaurant would have a different food theme each day and make great German food. Will give there other items a try in the future.

Sunset Bistro is a Mediterranean Restaurant located in Sun City. This is a small restaurant and bar with a patio. prices are LOW and portions are extra large. This place gets packed with loud blue hairs that know each other early in the evening. We tried a Greek Sampler platter (Greek salad, hummus, falafel and more). It was very large and very typical of Greek restaurant style.For dinner we tried the Gyro Platter and the Friday Walleye Special. Both really were good and both were extra generous portions. I have paid twice as much for walleye from other restaurants that was much smaller and not prepared as well as it was from Sunset Bistro. Also the potato was perfectly prepared.For those reasons I feel that Sunset Bistro is deserving of 4 stars.

Stopped at this place for lunch on Friday, sat outside. Great service! I had chicken shawarma sandwiches with a salad. The sandwich was huge! Chicken tasted pretty good! Other people ordered gyro and chicken kebabs. Everyone enjoyed their meals

Great find! Loved my lunch today. Passing through visiting a friend near by, found this place for lunch. YUMMY! The chicken and rice were delicious, Well seasoned that doesn't overpower at all. Tender and cooked just right. The iced tea option is black and for my taste, could have been far less dark (more watered down).The space is not large and it was almost completely filled. Heard the table next to us give lots of compliments to the server which was great to hear.

This is an update based on an Oct. 2023 visit which involved food I hadn't tried before. Our server was attentive and didn't even flinch when I had to call her back since I decided I wanted the Greek side salad rather than the house salad since I really like the olives. My friend's tortilla salad looked very appealing and he finished up every crisp bit of the edible tortilla bowl--he didn't want the meat that came with it as he's a vegetarian so they gave extra veggies instead which was a nice accommodation. It was MX night and the special was the ribs which came with rice, refried beans topped with cheese, and tortilla chips and salsa: I had to lick my fingers from the zippy but not overly so sauce that covered the succulent ribs that slid off the bone. The chicken shawarma, rice, and vegetables were as tasty as always. I prefer sitting outside than in the close quarters inside, but we came early and it wasn't completely crammed so it was cozy and pleasant. They have daily specials and they are themed like MX or Italian, but you'll never know what they will be unless you call or read the chalkboard first, but they are creative and a good deal. Remember to round out your meal with some beer, mostly bottled, but some on tap, or wine.

The food was delicious. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich. The baklava was also good. Linda and the other woman was very good at their jobs.

I had a Gyro plate and a Greek Salad. The restaurant had an extensive menu with many different types of food. This restaurant is one of my favorites in the area, and is one that we ride bicycles to often. Usually the Waitress is working solo and she always performs exceptionally well. I have never been disappointed by the food, and everything I have ever had has just been incredible. This is a restaurant that I can highly recommend and is one that I really enjoy being part of their regular customer base.

The worst food I've ever had. Bland and absolutely tasteless. They give you a lot. But it's really bad. The Greek salad dressing was so tart I couldn't eat it. The chicken shawarma was tasteless as was the rice.

Sad to think it was our first time and last time at this place. Food would have been so much better if the service was good. Who wants to eat at a restaurant when the servers look like they hate their jobs. Thank you - no thank you. Next time I'll go to Paulie's like I always have.
