Really lack luster. We ordered from Uber eats. One of our soups was missing. The largest soup sizes are barely a small bowls worth. We ordered 10 different soups, and they all tasted the same! Very bland. The sandwiches have a paper thin layer of tuna or chicken salad on them and give me terrible gas. The 2nd and third ingredients in the salads were mayo and seed oil... The best part of the meal was the sourdough bread, which was tasty. All of this coupled with oddball operating hours, no weekends, and close at 2:30pm. But they are open at 9am, who gets breakfast soup. We wouldn't order again..

I do appreciate a nice healthy soup in cooler months and it always seemed a huge void in Chicago's food scene not to have a legit soup counter... well, that is until I happened upon this cheery place today while running a package over to FedEx inside the merchandise mart during a lunch break.Sunny Bowls may just be the city Goldmine as far as soup is concerned. Yes slightly tucked away but its apparently no secret! The lunch lines were forming just behind me as I stood a bit undecided yet excited about the great fresh soupy options! The gal at the counter named Lizette offered me to step aside to try a few samples, and oh so yumm! When I said aloud "where have you guys been all this time?" The owner named Bob exclaimed "right here!" Haha... we all had a chuckle as even a few more soup samples were handed over the counter to me. Please and thank you:)Everything is made fresh daily and this is not a chain, just a man who decided to open a small soup business. Note: they close 2:30p weekdays (not open on weekends), don't wait too late in a day to head over.I took a 16oz Thai Chicken Noodle soup and a 12oz Wild Mushroom & Wild Rice soup combo with a side of freshly toasted bread and an apricot spread. I couldn't pick just one. Had one for lunch & took the other home for dinner.I highly recommed you stop in, nothing better to warm a belly on a cold day! If today's experience is an indication, I'll be back quite often as winter is soon upon us!

I loved the price & size of the açaí bowl. What I didn't like was I couldn't get a definite answer as to whether or not the ingredients were organic & in the açaí or fruit bowl world this is sort of important. For the $12 Twas huge to say the least & the sweet potato was a welcome difference to the redundant açaí. I was told it tasted like a sweet potato & marshmallow & while that was true for my mere sample the bowl itself wasn't as good. Maybe the toppings & peanut butter contradicted the flavor but it was still a joy to enjoy an bowl in the infamous food desert of river north. I'm my limited knowledge the only other place in the immediate area to get a bowl is hi vibe & you're going to pay more money for that. They have a good assortment of things such as boxed waters & elixirs with rare ingredients such as ashawagandha. A welcome addition to the area

This spot in Chicago is one that I keep thinking about. The huge market area in this building - the choices are never ending and this little soup corner caught my eye. The owner was out greeting everyone - asking if we had been there before and then offered samples. I tried as many as I could because I LOVE SOUP. If there was a filter on my Yelp photos - soup would be one of the tops. I was eating soup in July in Chicago, I meannnn - and there were so many people eating soup in the Summer from this little stand.I tried the wellness soup because *aesthetic* and it was absolutely amazing. The broth was rich and the veggies were jam packed. I am seriously craving it right now. The staff was super helpful in choices and there are offerings of bread and noodles and the owner even said - "you can customize however you want." I stayed in my lane or I would have mixed all the soups and I am not joking.

Ohhhh wow... I LOVED this spot! I was drawn in by the colorful designs and was pleasantly surprised to learned Sunny Bowls is a soup shop (I was thinking more of rice/chicken bowl type of spot). The employees working were absolutely fantastic. When I walked up, they were eager to give me samples and tell me their favorite soup flavors. I tried the hangover, Thai chicken, and vegan corn chowder. Y'all, they were all SO. GOOD. It was so hard for me to pick just one! The hangover had a miso soup like base but was filled with noodles, vegetables and beef. The Thai chicken and corn chowder had similar creamy bases but the Thai one was more of a curry soup. I decided to go with it because the flavors work so well together. They have a toppings station where you can top your soup with whatever you prefer, but I went with the ones recommended by the lovely staff helping me.The soup is served with delicious fresh bread and it makes for the most perfect, filling lunch. Sunny bowls also has 'spreads' you can get for the fresh breads. Spreads include flavors like smoky goat cheese, tapenade hummus, and spicy tuna salad. Haven't tried these yet, but they sure do sound tasty!

Sunny Bowls is such an awesome healthy option for lunch downtown. The soup is amazing and the bread (and spreads) are just awesome. They even have a "Hangover soup" lol.

The soup is outstanding. The counter server offered me samples of every single soup! It's the best soup I've had in town. Things that weren't mentioned in other reviews that I find helpful- 1) it's in a food court that has other options, including a Billy Goat outpost. So you can go with guests and get different things. 2) the food court is pretty decent, a pleasant workday upscale cafeteria vibe. So you can eat on site. 3) they come with lovely sourdough bread. As the soup nazi says, "my mulligatawny!" It's the best followed by the Thai chicken, vegan corn chowder and ratatouille. 10/10 recommend to my fellow soup fans.

A review from a semi-regular customer since they opened. My experiences are strictly with the soup options to date. All are fantastic with the butternut squash, tomato and green goddess as my top three. Try them out to show some love!

Absolutely loved this adorable little soup counter and sad that we don't have anything similar in my current city. The soups were great, the people were friendly, you can sample before you select - all outstanding! We got Bubbie's chicken noodle, spicy butternut squash, a vegan mushroom soup and one other I can't remember and loved them all. The smoked goat cheese spread was also delicious. I would absolutely make an effort to return here next time I'm in town!
