A friend recommended Sunnie's as one of her favorite taco spots in San Diego, and we were not disappointed! This was our last stop on route to the airport after long weekend vacation in SD. We arrived around 1pm on Monday afternoon, there was 1 other group eating outside at picnic tables and 2 other customers waiting for orders inside. I ordered the battered fish taco on recommendation from my friend, and then asked the cashier for her favorites -- Carne Asada and Carnitas. Our tacos were ready in about 5 minutes. We then devoured the tacos on the ride to the airport, otherwise Sunnie's prime location next to Sunset Cliffs would have definitely justified a picnic.The tacos themselves were very generous sizes. Another member in our group ordered the TJ mini tacos, and those were more of the normal taco size I'm used to. All the tacos were delicious, but my favorite was definitely the fish taco, closely followed by the Carnitas! Overall, a great way to end our trip in SD!

Dad and I stopped in this morning for coffee and a bite to eat since it was a quick walk from the hotel and didn't have a 30min wait time like our first stop.We both had the Surfer's Special Burrito, mine with black beans, his with refried. It was okay. There wasn't really anything, to me, that stood out or separated itself from other similar style eateries. It was a rather bland breakfast burrito, considering, so I did use their 3 hot sauces/salsas to help infuse a little something.Probably not somewhere I'd come again, however, a place I recommend you do try at least once and make your own judgement, as it wasn't bad. Just average in my opinion.

They can be good and they can be bad. Such is the problem when you have a sweet location. I lived right across the street.. i love mex grub however this was always a last resort when hangry and lazy. The inconsistencies included missing ingredients with the most worse being chicken bones found in a salad that I immediately tossed and chicken bones in burritos/tacos. I quickly lost confidence and didnt feel safe eating their grub. They are the nicest people for sure, I just wish the quality was A+ style.

Just stopped in for a quick afternoon snack. Friends and I ordered soft tacos- tofu, battered fish and grilled fish. So fresh. Accompanied by 3 different hot sauces. So good. No tables so we just stood and ate them at the window counter. Visiting Point Loma from Seattle so I relished every bite.

I've had good food and bad food here. It's not consistent and you never quite know what you're going to get. This morning my breakfast plate had ZERO seasoning on it, even with salsas it was still bland. Burrito was bland also. The chilaquiles are good if I remember correctly. Quality of the food is not the best either, refried beans seem to be sitting out all day. They also don't have free water, bottled only. That's ridiculous to me. I love that this is a no frills place and a nice place to stop at when walking on the cliffs, but unfortunately it's not worth it anymore.

First time here. Heard about it through Reddit. They have the best California burritos I've ever had. I stopped by my first night and we had to come back for a second time before heading back home. Their service is very friendly and sweet. Definitely a go to spot when you're in ocean beach!

Honestly very lackluster burrito joint with so called fire burritos but left me wanting so much more. The fries were clearly frozen and the quac was prepared or something out of a jar. The sour cream tasted old. My friends burrito was so wet and messy she couldn't eat it, and barely had any shrimps in it. We got 4 burritos in total plus carne asada fries that were just plain awful. $74 total --- Save your money and go to Hugo's, no shame to Sunny's but it's just bad

Woulda been a 4 star but the dude working gave me two sauces and refused to give me more though my group had 5+ tacos. Made no sense. Tacos were fine, we really only grabbed them for their taco Tuesday deal but just so thrown off on being stingy with sauces for customers.

Food was very meh. Fish felt like it was fried out of frozen meal. Meat was a bit on the lacking moisture side. Shrimp taco had shrimp shell.From the east coast so shocked when we were dining and they said no restroom for customers.
