Summer House Santa Monica

Love the Cali vibes at this restaurant!I have eaten at Summer House in Orlando, but this was my first time at this location. We had reservations, which are definitely needed on a weekend! Our server was great, but the food took a while to come out. To drink, I had a classic mimosa. It was a solid mimosa and had a good ratio of juice to champagne. To start, we shared the guac, which is always a 5 star dish to me here! Loved it. For my entree, I had the huevos rancheros. I thought the presentation was impressive, but the large quesadilla wasn't filled with cheese all the way and it was hard to get to the middle. I really enjoyed the flavors, but the presentation made it challenging to eat.We were too full for dessert, but the cookies are a must try here! I have had them at the Orlando location and you can order them to go here as well. The food is great here, but the vibes are really what you come for!

Off the bat this is a GORGEOUS restaurant, the decor and natural lighting are stunning. Highly recommend sitting in the middle room with the glass ceiling if you're able. A friend and I spend the afternoon shopping around some boutiques in the area before a dinner reservation. We started off with the watermelon mocktail (super refreshing) and I appreciated that it came in a nice glass with a garnish just like a normal cocktail would. For food we tried the poke nachos and rigatoni alla vodka and loved both. Our server was also very nice and gave some helpful recommendations with the menu. It also looked like they were known for their cookie/dessert display in the front entrance, with many people stopping in to pick up bakery items. We tried a lemon and m&m cookie and both were good, but definitely indulgent since they're pretty heavy (more like a bar texture). Overall seems like a great spot for a girls night dinner or to bring family since the menu has such a variety of options! Note that street parking is available only if you can find it, valet is $17.

Summer House Santa Monica is a must-visit! We started with their burrata, which was absolutely delicious. The rigatoni alla vodka had an amazing flavor with a spicy kick, and the peas in it were a delightful surprise. The lobster rolls on special were massive and incredibly tasty. The steak frites was also a generous portion and the garlic fries were a perfect match. For dessert, we had their cookies, which were even better when warmed and served with a scoop of ice cream on top.Our waiter, Jessie, made the experience even better with his great drink recommendations and unreal service. He had the best attitude and made sure everything was perfect. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, with beautiful lighting that sets a great mood. Summer House Santa Monica is a gem!

Our go to brunch spot in the city that is consistently delicious! Anytime we have friends in town, we love starting our weekend off at summer house. We have been there several times now and absolutely love the food! The breakfast tostadas, breakfast burrito, and Mexican hash browns are all amazing. We have gotten the warm cinnamon roll each time we have been here as an App to start and it's probably the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. We also loved the jalapeño corn bread and the fresh pineapples with lime zest!The ambience is beautiful and the service is amazing.They have a cute bakery in the front with delicious treats. I highly recommend the espresso chocolate chip cookie!!!

With a large group (11 of us) visiting from out of town, some their first time in Chicago, I needed a good brunch option with a beautiful ambiance and reliably good food. Summer House did not disappoint. After contacting several restaurants who would not accommodate me with short notice, the host and all of the staff at this establishment truly were so kind and did their very best to ensure our visit was enjoyable! We ended up in a crunch for time to catch a boat tour, and we asked whether we could order quickly so we could eat and run. The staff did a truly extraordinary job to accommodate us - during a high volume lunch hour rush with a full restaurant! That is truly impressive and it was so appreciated. Every single dish ordered by our group was a complete hit! The burgers, deviled eggs, salads, chicken sandwiches- every single dish was a 10/10 from each of my guests! Additionally, huge shouts out to the bar staff for making well balanced and delicious drinks consistently!! I'd come here before and had that experience and they delivered with drinks that look great and taste great! Indication of a high quality well trained/skilled staff! While I didn't take pics of our food because we were in a rush, we have a shot of us which captures a bit of how cool the vibe is at this establishment. I really enjoy this place and they even have a bakery if you'd like to partake in some delicious sweet treats! I am so grateful to the staff who helped me impress my out of town group with great ambiance, delicious food, and strong and well balanced drinks!

This is such a beautiful restaurant inside. It was easy to make a reservation beforehand on open table. The horchata latte was delicious. I will say the portions of the avocado toast and the short rib hash were pretty small but very very delicious. I appreciated the extra avocado on top of the eggs on my avocado toast. The cookies are TO DIE FOR! The peanut butter and the chocolate cloud cookie are the most delicious cookies I've had in a while. I will definitely return.

Lovely, bright, airy restaurant. Came for brunch. Food and drinks were great. Very nice restrooms. No complaints about the service. Would return!

Summer House Santa Monica is a beautiful restaurant! I'm so happy they have a vegan option. I wish they had more options BUT beggars can't be choosers..and their vegan breakfast burrito is pretty good. They also had a vegan snickerdoodle cookie I may try next time. Service was great during their prime Sunday brunch time!

My friend and I opted to get a pre-Steppenwolf show at Summer House and weren't disappointed. They have a pretty extensive menu with a good amount of vegetarian options. I loved all the SoCal touches of the decor and ambiance, and enjoyed having the main window open at the front (even though that meant there were a couple birds flying in the restaurant and some bugs).My friend and I split the carmelized brussels sprouts, which were delectable. I ordered the Costa Mesa salad which I loved: it was fresh and hearty but a little too acidic for my palate. My friend got the tuna watermelon tostadas and the mushroom pizza. I had a slice of that pizza and the umami was just off the charts. Really good crust too.I got there for 6pm and it was already busy, but my server was present and came by often. My friend was running late, so I ordered for her and our food came out so quickly. Once she arrived and opted to order more food, it just took longer. The restaurant was of course busier, but other tables around us seemed to be getting their food before us, despite having ordered it later. It was really tricky to flag our server to get the check, and we had to run down the street to get to our show on time. (We made it!).I would be back, but I might get there even earlier if I'm seeing a show later.

beautiful inside but the food was bland, service was average. It's not worth it unless you only care about the aesthetic of your restaurant.
