I came here with local friends who were excited to return to Sully's for their first time in over a year. Yet they were disappointed at how empty it was at 10pm on a Saturday night. I think it was a combination of no Celtics or Bruins game going on, and/or maybe regulars weren't yet familiar with their new-ish "limited reopening" hours. Or maybe it's a reflection on peoples' changing tastes in the area??This really is a fun place to go no matter how busy - or not - it is. For a "dive" place, the selection of beer, drinks, and pours is pretty good. You've also got pool tables in the back as well as Golden T (admittedly a gravity well for my friends). I'm not sure it's actually someplace I'd want to spend an entire evening, but definitely a place I'd want to include in an evening out and about.

Convenient and clean(it's a Dive) when you are in the orange or Lowell line trying to grab a beer or two before heading home. Well, didn't spend a lot of time however the place felt warm on an Friday evening. If you have a game to catch good luck finding a place to catch a quick glass of beer. This place is cash only so you'll get your beer cheap however there will be 100s like you as well. Be aware and play it safe. I do see myself coming here more often just to grab a quick drink or two. Oh yes : you'll be getting plastic cups and I bet it might turn into solo cups late in the night.

Downtown Boston DiveHad a few beers here before the Celtics game. It was right up my alley. A dive bar with interesting and diverse Boston clientele. Pool tables in the back, and "the best vending machine in town". Situated at the corner of Canal makes this an easy pit stop before heading into the new garden.The quintessential dive bar near The Garden. Best bar to get a buzz on and go watch the game.Thanks

A simple no frills dive a must for any td garden event pre game id rather spend my cash here and drink then at the garden itself

We stumbled on this place to get out of the rain and, well, when my feet hurt from walking all day the only remedy is a foot massage or a good beer. Today it was beer.I had no idea we would stumble on a crowded pre-game of what I later learned to be Bruins fans (I know little of hockey for the record). It was a sea of yellow jerseys in the place and a good vibe.Beers were cheap and dark and the bartender was friendly and attentive even though he was moving quick to serve the crowd. I soaked up chatter with some locals with thick accents who gave us good recommendations for things to do while in Boston, had a couple of pints, and moved on. I'd go back for sure.

So not sure how much of the dive bar experience is needed to be authentic! Here is mine... sat at bar, smelled, broken bottles at my feet, beer skunked and fruit flies were fun. So this place may win as the "dive Bar"! Kinda not so great! Much better places in Boston near the garden and at six bucks a beer! Bye bye! Find a better "dive bar" when in the area!!

Just a great place to enjoy a cold beer or a spot of Irish Whiskey. Dark, cozy, and full of history. The service is excellent.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Refused to accept my ID because they "didn't feel comfortable" when it is a real ID. They didn't even attempt to scan it and just said they wouldn't feel comfortable accepting it. Wtf

Came to Boston looking for that bar experience and didn't get it. We got back on the train from Salem and were recommended Sullivans for that dive bar. This is exactly what I wanted and expected. The bartender, Derrick, was great and has been here almost 30 years. He gave that Boston banter back and forth and this was the best bar we have been to all trip. I would highly recommend. Remember, THIS IS A BAR and not a restaurant.
