This place is an absolute must visit!!! It's a whole vibe!!!! Live D.J. to keep the flow going!!! Great service and a wide variety of food for all taste buds! The price is seemed a little high but after the first bite and speedy service it doesn't even bother you!!! I would do it all over again 100x.I would definitely recommend this place!!!

Super vibey spot for brunch! We made a last minute resy here and although this spot wasn't our first choice for brunch, it still was a hit. Most of us at the table ordered the shrimp and grits. I'm a new grits fan and this one felt more like gritty than i would have liked. I feel like It lacked in flavor a bit and the creole kinda sauce in top was a little bland. Adding some hot sauce did do the trick though. I also ordered a side of catfish and it was fried and cooked to perfection! The aioli sauce that came in the side enhanced the flavor even more and adding some of that to the grits with the catfish on top was the perfect combo. Depending on the crowd and the DJ (the one when I went was playing tunes) this place could be a little loud, making It semi hard to hear what people are saying. Overall it's def a restaurant worth visiting for a good vibe and decent food.

This place was great. The service we received was kind and attentive from our server. He came to check up on us pretty often. We also liked the food, but those the price points were pretty higher in price. We loved the catfish and grits and most especially loved the salmon croquettes. Those were by far the most flavorful part of what we had. Mocktails were about $15 too. Loved the decor inside and how they had it set up. I liked having the DJ there but the music was so loud, having conversations at the tables was nearly impossible.

This place is a whole vibe! . From the decor to the DJ to the food, this establishment has it all. I ordered the catfish n grits along with the red kool-aid. Food was delicious and I was shocked how quickly it came out from the kitchen after we ordered.Please be sure to visit the bakery shop they have connected to the restaurant. They have cute items for sale along with bakery items. I ended up ordering the mini peach cobbler pie and a couple of their cookies. Staff was warm and welcoming. I've heard so much about this place and now understand the hype. Looking forward to returning.

Came here with a large group of 14. We booked in advance and had to put down a deposit for the table. But $10 pp was put towards our meal, I believe so that was good. We were in town for the weekend and found Sugar Jam from tiktok. TikTok hasn't steered us wrong yet. We had a great time! Came on a Sunday, they had a DJ which really made brunch fun (he even takes some music requests). The staff was friendly and even dancing along to the music with us . Working with large table; things moved pretty fast and we got our food pretty quickly. They also have a photographer during brunch and offer framed photos for an additional fee. We all really enjoyed our food. They have a vegan/vegetarian sweet potato hash that's a pretty good! We also had a couple mimosa towers for the table that Anderson brunch even sweeter! They also have a bakery next door which we got a few cookies from! This is definitely a travel destination spot in Scottsdale!

Came solo so I sat at the bar. All I can say is Wow. From the ambiance and vibes of this place to the food and drinks-- I am so glad I stopped by while I was in Arizona!Bartender was friendly and attentive, always making sure I was taken care of. My food was delicious!! Crab shrimp and grits with scrambled eggs and a biscuit. The grits were creamy, the sauce was spicy but not too spicy. The mimosa flight was another star of the show and had me feeling right. Presentation matched quality and taste! I recommend it to anyone looking for black owned spots with great food in the Phoenix Arizona area.

Went on a trip to AZ with the guys and had brunch here. First thing I noticed was good parking and music. The vibe inside is nice and the decor too. There was a live DJ playing some good stuff. Overall, the service was good but just make sure your entire party is present or they wont sit you. I ordered this pancake & tender breakfast and it was absolutely delicious, forreal. Not thin but not too thick of a pancake and good syrup. The tenders were a nice slight spicy with honey drizzle. So good! The eggs were very fluffy and my bacon was crisp. I kept it safe since I'm from the south and we're heavy on seasonings. However, no complaints!

We visited this spot on our girls' trip. I had the flapjack with chicken, and my sister had the classic Belgian waffle. Everything was seasoned, even the pancakes! These are not your regular pancakes.I loved everything about this restaurant. There was a DJ playing music for our age group, allowing us to dance and sing. The customer service was excellent. Warren, with his 80's inspired earrings, was super cute and nice. We also loved the lady from the kitchen who danced with us. I definitely recommend visiting this place!

I love love love this place! I travel across the valley for this delicious southern cuisine. Everything I have had is seasoned to perfection and the portions are very fair. My favorite is the fish and grits. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat with DJ Freshmaker playing the top hits. The staff even enjoys the vibe when they're feeling their song. This is definitely bookmarked as a fav!

I've been here numerous times. I've brought my medical school friends here as well as friends from out of town. But this experience has let a bad taste in my mouth. Arrived at sugar jam for a reservation. The full party wasn't there at 9:30am. However 1 person arrived at 9:20am but was told that she couldn't sit at the table until I arrived. I arrived at 10am. So the 90 minutes time started at the 9:30am reservation which was fine. However, my friend who arrived at 9:20am was denied the table. The table that was empty. The next reservation started at 11am. And we were denied access to the table that was reserved for us. Instead....they set a new party down in our reservation time. Mind you. The 11am reservation is still coming. The logic was flawed.The table was available but not for the folks who reserved the seat although they were both there BEFORE the new party was seated. - they said that they would place us at another time. That never happened. - there were two tables remaining that we were not seated in as well as no one was seated there by 11am. The group was seated at 11:32am. Both were late but still able to be seated. DJ was good and played old school goodies. No complaints.We watched people seated later get their food quickly while we waited a womping total of 24 minutes and 45 seconds. My friend's shrimp and grits were cold. But they did put it in the warmer.My ham was decent 7/10.My cheesy Eggs had the bare minimum cheese possible. It wasn't seasoned at all 5/10. Waffle was good 8.5/10. This experience gave Dennys with a DJ. I'm very unimpressed by this experience. The servers were nice. If I come back. I will buy small drinks and enjoy the dj vibes but for food and customer service this didn't hold a candle to other brunch spots.
