Absolutely not.Received this "strawberry" cake for my birthday... The "strawberry" cake tasted like box cake. Why do I know this? Because strawberry is my favorite and my mom makes this same cake for my birthday every year. I'm insulted someone paid $120 for this fondant disaster.The only reason they order from here is because me, I love their cupcakes. Can't believe they were comfortable handing this off to a customer!

Ordered a small white cake for a bridal event. It looked just like the photo I submitted, but I was not impressed with the taste. I did golden vanilla cake and vanilla Swiss buttercream frosting. Frosting tasted like butter and the cake was dry.Cake was ready on time and all the staff I encountered were friendly.

Delicious Cake experience!We were looking for a Lion King themed cake but had no idea how it should look like! We loved their suggestionWe went home to realize that our cake might be much larger than we need. We called them the next day, they happily reduced the size and gave us store credit for the difference. Also, while ordering the cake, the baker answered all our questions and gave us suggestions. We don't like fondant and they gladly made the cake without it.We had a Chocolate cake with Nutella filling and the top layer with Vanilla cake and chocolate filling.The cakes were a hit at the party with all ages and kids came back asking for a second serving!Loved the cake, friendly staff and glad to find a cake spot for future parties!

We wanted to get coffee while we were waiting for our appointment at Deep Roots, but unfortunately they don't serve that there. The gal behind the counter kindly informed us that they only had cupcakes for retail sales. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we went ahead and bought one. Although only selling cupcakes didn't leave us a good impression of a place called a "bakery", the cupcake was good. Delicious flavor and just melted upon taking a bite. Upon looking at other reviews, it sounds like they specialize in custom cakes. After eating the cupcake, it did make us interested in trying a custom cake in the future.

I would first like to say that I appreciate how communicative the staff was with ordering, making, and picking up the cake. But I wasn't very impressed with the cake I got. I felt that the frosting was too think and the cake itself was a little dry. I also didn't care for how the cake looked (I've attached the photo of the cake I got vs the way that I asked for it to look) I understand that decorating a cake may not be easy but I wish they would've told me that they can't replicate the look of what I wanted while we were discussing it.

I absolutely adore Sugar n Flakes bakery Time and time again they have been a big hit when I bring them in for get togethers as dessert. The lemon blueberry cream cheese cupcake is my absolute favorite! It's flavors are so well balanced and the textures are spot on. I also appreciate that they are accommodating to allergies with gluten-free and vegan cupcakes! My cousin is allergic to gluten and my best friend is allergic to dairy. Both have raved about their cupcakes when I bring them over. Just make sure to call ahead if you need either option. Sometimes they can run out of one or the other, that being said they will do their best to accommodate. All in all I really love this bakery and have found myself coming back again and again. I highly recommend giving them a try if you're close by or making a trip out of your way to try something new

Amazing! Their customer service is also top notch. We had our wedding cake custom made by them and it was delicious. We will be back for more cupcakes.

Cupcakes!!I started coming here because it's the closest to my building : Lincoln square and needed some for the party. It's literally 3-5 minutes walk for cupcakes. I wanted to make sure they travel well and not get ruin during the travel time either. The place itself is bright and spacious. Too big even. Cupcakes are in the case: many flavors but most are chocolate or vanilla base with various frosting options. And then they have fancy coconut ones, cream cheese ones etc! Chocolate Caramel Cupcake: good. Chocolate Mocha Cupcake : even betterStrawberry and Strawberry Cupcake: my favorite!!Lemon Blueberry Creamcheese Cupcake: second favorite!Chocolate Vanilla Cupcake: simple!Vanilla Birthday Boy Cupcake: bright blue and good.Vanilla Chocolate Cupcake: delicious!Other ones that are a hit at my parties!Coconut Creamcheese Cupcake Carrot Creamcheese Cupcake Chocolate Mint Cupcake Pink Champagne Cupcake: the best one!You can't go wrong with cupcakes. Both adults and my friend's kids like them. They are all around $3.45-$3.89 per cupcakes. I've discovered them through Grubhub. I haven't got a chance to try them all just yet. I do wish they offer minis on regular basis so I can try them all. Luckily, I'm hosting events this weekend and the next. I have a feeling I'll be trying more flavors!

I found this bakery on Yelp the other day so I decided to try it. The cupcakes look beautiful and tasty however, once I bit into it I was disappointed at how dry the cupcake was. Since this was my first time trying it I wasn't sure if this was the norm but not sure I would pay the price to try it again. Service & staff were very friendly which makes it so hard to write this review.

Okay apparently this is a pretty famous place if you want to make customized cakes. However bear in mind you need to pre order which can be up to 2 weeks in advance and they do only circular or standard shaped customizations. This bakery is decently sized given it's downtown location and has a nice aroma to it.If you have special requests definitely look for a lady named "Monica" - she is amazing to talk to and she will give some very good recommendations for the occasion. Personally I got a customized Duck-shaped cake and they did an amazing job with it. P.S. - This bakery is also super famous among vegetarians and Indians because they also do eggless cakes.
