Sugar Bowl Cafe

***I am not a coffee person***However, this is literally 5 min walk from my house. So when I want to escape the routine of working from home this place rocks.They have a great ambient to just relax. That is soo needed when you are looking to find a relatively quiet spot to work. Their snacks are awesome and could vouch for the quality of the food because I've sad her watching the staff create a well balanced snack.Notice that I called their food snacks. Well take that with a grain of salt because the portions are European ones. Not a bad thing and you don't leave feeling guilty that you ate something too sugary.I hear their coffee is underrated and a good find by my coffee connoisseur of a husband. So if you like coffee instead of having icky dd. So come by and bring cash don't think they credit cards but there is an atm machine inside.

Eggs are microwaved, bagels are supermarket bought (Thomas's bagels) so the food is ehhh. Coffee is good, they take credit I mean basic/sub-standard.

Fantastic coffee, really unique how they I fuse the flavors into the coffee rather than using syrups. Very reasonable prices with a great atmosphere.

Sigh*. I told myself I wouldn't be back, but I kept passing this place and it's been over a year and I'm all about second chances. A few things they did improve which I'm really happy about! They accept card now!! That's huge. And their hot drink cups are sturdy and more decent looking. The service though is still subpar and not very friendly. The inside looks exactly the same but behind the counter looks a tad more clean. My coffee though? Still had to toss. Too watery. And I love to make Lavazza coffee at home! Which is what they serve. I wish I could just see what's going on with their espresso bar. I'd love to clean it, properly set it up, and teach a few tricks on how to froth milk.

Fantastic flavored iced coffee WITH NO ADDED SUGAR!? so rare to be able to find flavored coffee that isn't coated in sugar. Friendly staff, beautiful spot on the corner. Great natural light in the morning. Check them out!

What a cute little local business! They have many many coffee flavors and have now added frozen cocktails to their menus. It was? cash only but I noticed on weekends, specifically when they have their frozen cocktails available, they accept card. Not sure if this is a regular thing now. Could be a weekend only thing? idk. Service is okay, they're not the kindest l o l. But their drinks are good enough to keep me coming!

Great food and drink! The little shop is very cute and has antiques, stained glass windows, and old furniture. It's very unique. Refreshing to see because nowadays it's all chain places.

Very much miss the vibe from before they started serving cocktails :/ literally used to be a good family spot and the only place in the neighborhood to get ice cream. They had the best black and white frappe in dorchester. Wish they could bring just a little bit of that back instead of catering to yuppies

I'd leave 10 stars if I could. I got an everything bagel sausage egg and cheese. Perfect egg to sausage ratio. Hard to find these days. I'd leave a picture but I wolfed it down in about 5 seconds. Highly recommend it.

I went here in the summer time because I thought they had ice cream. I mean their name is sugar bowl Cafe. After all. They do not have ice cream in the summer. The people behind the counter were extremely slow in taking orders and also preparing food. I asked for a Lime Ricky, which is like their signature drink. I was told they're out of Sprite??? I asked for a different drink and they also couldn't make it. So I just settled for an iced coffee. Overall a pretty disappointing experience. The only thing they have going for them is that their coffee is really cheap.
