The food and service were amazing! Waited only 5 minutes for a table for two around 12pm on a Thursday, although it did look busy. The place is very well decorated, you can just tell that there was a lot of thought put into every decoration. Such a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing brunch place to eat at. I got the Blazin' Chilaquiles Skillet with Chicken and it satisfied my cravings in every way, especially with some cholula sauce. Also, our server Kelsea was servingggggg, loved her! Will definitely come again when I'm back in the area.

The simple pleasures of a girly brunch... this place made my friend and I very happy! The interior is gorgeous, surrounded with flowers & greenery. There was a bit of a wait, but we were encouraged to grab a coffee inside while we waited. We were very entertained just browsing all the treats they offer while sipping our coffees. Spicy Shashuka - from my experience, not many popular brunch spots offer spicy Shashuka so I was thrilled to see this on the menu!!! It was DELICIOUS and I would order again Blueberry Love Pancakes - the lemon curd pancakes were so soft, I could've eaten them by themselves. The blueberry compote paired well with the lemon in the pancakes. The only downside was the vanilla bean whipped cream that was too sweet for my liking. I still loved this plate & next time I will just order with no whip My friend also really enjoyed her crab cake salad. The service here was quick & attentive! Overall lovely brunch

Had brunch here on a Friday with my bestie and it was great. We were seated outside. The floral decor hanging from the ceiling and along the fence was so girly and pretty. The tables were a little too close to one another for my liking, but I get it. They need to make use of every inch here. We found street parking close by and walked over, but I can imagine parking is scarce on busier days like the weekend. For drinks, I got the iced blue moon latte and could barely taste the espresso, probably wouldn't get it again. For food, I got the crabby royale benedict. 10/10, the best crabcake benedict I've ever had. Loved the spicy hollandaise on top of the poached egg. The crabcake itself was a pretty good size too. For the side you could choose between a salad or potatoes. I got the potatoes which was cooked perfectly. My bestie got the bread pudding french toast. She said it was good, but not the best she's ever had. I didn't get a chance to try it, but it did look good.I'd definitely come back again to try some other items on the menu.

We stopped by this cute venue for lunch while we were out and about. The place has a charming atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options, making it a pleasant spot to relax. Inside, there's also a small shop where you can purchase food to go.However, I was a bit disappointed with the children's menu. We ordered the grilled cheese for the kids, but it turned out to be a bit too fancy for their tastes. On the other hand, I ordered the lox plate, which was very tasty.Overall, I get the sense that this place is more suited for breakfast. Their breakfast offerings sounded really good, and I'd love to come back to try them.

Came here on a Saturday morning around 10 am. Was seated within 30 minutes! Not bad for a busy brunch location. Been here three times previously and have always ordered the chilaquiles skillet. 10/10. Awesome food and so tasty. First time ordering the latte and I added the toasted marshmallow syrup. Very disappointed as the menu stated $1 charge but was charged $1.5. Very minor issue but also when my friend ordered the smothered and covered skillet, she attempted to sub the bacon. The waitress let us know we could for the chicken. Only to find out while closing the bill that subbing was a $4 charge. Wish there was more price transparency here.Overall though, its a very yummy, very cute, and very welcoming space. Only had those two minor issues.

Dined here for a late brunch on a Friday around 1 pm. There was no wait time which was nice. It's across from the Blue Whale and The Cottage which I can imagine creates some competition. Food 3.5/5Ordered the Benedict and the bread pudding French toast. Also got iced matcha and added lavender syrup since it's not sweetened and hot house coffee. The Benedict was your average Benedict. No special sauce or anything but it was good for a simple dish. The French toast sounded more exciting than it was. All the toppings were on the side which was nice but also wish it wasn't on the side? I'm on the fence about whether I liked it on the side. It was also a small portion and not enough for one person. The color of the matcha was light and milky but the coffee was good and comes with refills. Service 2/5 Everyone from the hostess to the servers were nice. However, service could improve. They brought out the water pitcher and no glasses. Food came out but we had no plates. Then they brought dirty plates that had pieces of egg stuck to them. We also found a strand of hair stuck deep in the straw that I had to pull out. It wasn't mine or my partner's because it was half blonde/grey. When we shared this issue with the server, he offered to take the drink off our bill which was nice. Ambiance 3/5We were seated outside and although it was a hot day, it didn't bother us. However, what did bother us was being seated at the end of the patio near a back gate so people constantly opened the gate and passed right by us. Price 5/5I think prices are fair for La Jolla. Overall I don't regret trying this place but probably wouldn't come back.

Sugar and Scribe is the most aesthetically pleasing brunch spot I have ever had the honor of dining at! Flower wallpaper coupled with pops of pink and foliage lighten the mood and make you feel removed from the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood. We ordered the crab cake benedict, shrimp and grits, and a mango lemonade. Pleasantly surprised at how it came out a short 10 minutes after ordering. Everything was so good, and the portions were just right! To top it off, our server was very attentive and checked in on us every 5-7 minutes. The inside of the restaurant is only for to-go orders and shopping around their little cafe. I would most definitely recommend this spot for a place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and people watch, or to have brunch.

A fantastic brunch choice in La Jolla! It can be quite busy during the weekends, we came around 11:30am on a Saturday, and our wait time was 35 minutes. My friends and I were able to walk along the area to make the time pass by. They have tons of outdoor seating, and we were expecting sunny weather but definitely got some marine layer gloom that day. The place is very nicely decorated with lots of florals, and they had very cute dishware, overall it is quite aesthetic! They have a ton of classic brunch dishes like pancakes, benedicts, skillets, and scrambles - so many of them looked like they had unique flavors. I ordered the Spicy Crispy Clucker Benedict because it sounded like a creative benedict dish, and it was excellent! The fried chicken and the chipotle hollandaise had great flavor. The english muffin was surprisingly soft. I ordered potatoes alongside with it, which are not like traditional breakfast potatoes, but soft scalloped potatoes. My friends got the Southern Love (really yummy cheesy grits and large shrimp!) and Kensington Benedict (a more fresh benedict with smoked salmon). Overall we all enjoyed our dishes! We were also eyeing the Naughty Skillet - so we'll have to try that next time!

Delicious brunch and wonderful experience at Sugar and Scribe. I ordered the mushroom dish which was great, my son ordered the lobster dish with potato side which he didn't finish. The blueberry pancake was great as well. The service was friendly and the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful and well executed. Parking was tricky but we ended up getting a spot right in front of the entrance but I can see parking being difficult in general but parking in Sam Diego generally is.Overall wonderful memories were made and Sugar and Scribe gets 5 stars!Thank you.

This place is amazing. The blueberry pancakes are some of the best pancakes I've ever had. The pastries are also delicious. Not only is the food tasty, but it's also gorgeous. The staff are all friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Sugar and Scribe for breakfast.
