Stump's Family Marketplace

Stump's is the GEM of Point Loma. The store itself is not terribly big but they have everything organized and laid out well. Their meat counter and fresh produce/fruits are simply the best. Their prices are fair. The customer service is top notch. There is plenty of help throughout the store to assist you and they always have multiple check stands open to serve their customers. I love this store so much that I drive about 15 miles to do my weekly grocery shopping. They carry lots of specialty food items such as jams, jellies, salad dressings, condiments, bakery items and other grocery items. They offer a 10% senior discount. Their premade deli salads are excellent. I love Stump's Family Market.

On Thanksgiving Day we stopped at Stumps and were really happy to see how well stocked it was. It was the busiest we've ever seen the store. We went for organic frozen corn and were elated that it was in stock. The shelf was stocked and stacked full.I kept it in the freezer at home until I went to prepare it at dinner time that same day. Except when I poured out the bag there were chunks of mold and this really weird reddish orange dye color which I thought at first was carrot but upon closer inspection it was chunks of reddish orangey looking ice. I have no idea what it was but it did not look good.We were going to bring this corn back to Stumps the following day but kept getting busy and forgetting.

Selection is limited but it is of good quality. Deli is dynamic!! Moreover this is a family-owned business which is an endangered species.

This place has that creepy, abandoned, haunted building feel to it.Broken floor tiles all over the place, busted shopping carts and baskets left everywhere, broken freezer doors left open. There's even a ghastly woman with long black curly hair that follows you around like those ghosts you see out of the corner of your eye, peeking at you from around the corner. I was only here for 10 minutes, and I feel my energy drained.Thanks, but I'm not risking some spooky ghost attachment for tuna and mayo.

Came in here to grab a bottle of wine and a couple things while I was waiting for my order at the restaurant nearby. The cashier gave me a weird look when I walked in. She kept staring at me awkwardly when I was checking out too. The prices are higher than chain grocery stores and the selection was whatever but I didn't want to stay long because I felt uncomfortable. I asked the person I was with if he got the same vibe or if I was just being sensitive buy he agreed that something unfriendly and weird was up with her. I don't live nearby so I definitely won't go out of my way to go here again.

Well, after a good 10 years of putting up with your convenient placement, it's time to call it, Stumps. I've cut my losses at your discount rack for sauces and other things, that I've found out are YEARS out of date after I've bought them. I've put up with your moldy frozen pizza's and veggies, that have obviously been thawed and refrozen multiple times. I've put up with your cooked chicken, which has been raw in the middle, and I've had to finish cooking myself. I've even tried giving you the benefit of the doubt with your milks and juices that are a week past due. But I will NOT put up with you kicking my daughter out, and embarrassing her in front of other people, for trying to return the half-liquid ice cream that YOU SOLD US. Never again, nor anyone we know! This store has become TRASH, absolute TRASH over the last few years! You should be ashamed of yourselves!

Great place its hit and miss smell your food before you make your purchase.great customer service.i can tell they run a tight ship its not easy dealing with bad customers and thiefs all day i get it.

Always grumpy staff there. I don't understand why. The butcher guys are nice but that's it.

nice bait and switch... the week before 4th of July Stumps offers a deal on Hebrew National Beef Franks ... the only ones i buy... plus a free bottle of ketchup for buying two packs. only problem... they aren't carrying that brand or at least they aren't putting them out during the sale. even asked the meat dept guys and they had no answer. walked out and drove to Ralph's.

Been stopped multiple times because I look young, manager won't let you bring your own bags in to carry groceries with and after I asked if all adults had to follow these rules she said yes and then as I'm shopping multiple people have their own bags with them.White haired bitchy lady at the front in the mornings
