Good quality, great quantity, decent value. This is known as one of the top tier burger spots in San Diego so my friends and I stopped by for a try. Among the many unique items on their menu I ordered the Bullitt which is honestly more of a sandwich than a burger.Overall: I had so much fun dining here from enjoying the aesthetic of the restaurant to the funny friendly banter from the server. It really felt like I was eating at a classic American diner with the added automotive vibe. Food wise I was a bit disappointed with the brisket in my Bullitt sandwich but I had a few bites of the other burgers my friends ordered and was pleasantly satisfied with those. Beware, one order of a burger and fries or whatever side you get is extremely heavy and will fill you up. I am normally a big eater but the items at this restaurant are very heavy and oily to the point where you might feel a bit sick. Bullitt: Meaty, juicy, tender, melting. The Bullitt is a sandwich with some smoked brisket coated with their house BBQ sauce topped with white cheddar and caramelized onions all inside of a french roll lined with mayo. Upon first glance, the sandwich didn't look as appetizing as the other burgers that my friends had ordered but when I took a bite I was pleasantly surprised with an extremely tender sandwich. The French roll wasn't very toasted so everything melted altogether in my mouth. The brisket was honestly a quite disappointing considering they are an American restaurant that specializes in BBQ and burgers. Taste wise the brisket was very tender but lacked in the smokey flavor that is advertised. On top of that there isn't a smoke ring on my brisket at all and the bark is nonexistent and it just looked like any regular slab of meat... but not seared. The brisket lacked, texture, flavor, and aroma and based on all of these things I could only presume that the brisket isn't actually smoked but perhaps steamed or boiled in a less conventional way. Coming from someone who had spent 27 hours smoking a brisket at home and knows what smoked brisket should look and taste like, I was extremely disappointed. The house BBQ sauce wasn't very present in my sandwich but fortunately I asked for some on the side to go with my tater tots and I was able to get a better taste of it. I didn't think anything special of it other than it was quite a standard BBQ sauce. The caramelized onions were very tender and soft and in conjunction with the white cheddar created a creamy layer on top of the brisket. This sandwich and the other burgers my friends ordered and I had a taste of were honestly very oily and heavy. While there is an enjoyable amount of "heavy/greasy" food that I can guiltily enjoy, this one pushed past that line and I just felt kind of gross afterwards for the rest of the day.The tater tots on the side were absolutely delicious. They were light, fluffy, but also had a solid crispy layer on the outside. I feel like its hard to get tater tots wrong as even frozen tots thrown in an air fryer can taste just as good. Their house ranch was a nice sauce to try the tots with but it was extremely herby with a strong strong presence of dill which was good on the first few bites but afterwards I got kind of sick of it. I ended up finishing up my tots with ketchup and BBQ sauce. The service was great and our server was funny and helpful and was amazing with friendly banter. She embodied the traditional diner server attitude and it honestly does add so much to the experience dining here. Aesthetics wise the restaurant has two main dining areas. The indoor dining area is decorated with a full automotive vibe from the door to the restrooms too. There aren't many places that truly stick with one bold aesthetic and I am very happy that this store goes full blast with it as its unique, different, and fun. The outdoor dining area is less race-car-y and more traditional barbecue yard house. There is a big outdoor shade and a bunch of wooden bench lunch tables that make for a cozy friendly dining experience.

We were fiending for a thick steakburger so we decided to give STP a try. While $20+ for a burger is a wee bit pricy, I am willing to come back again and explore the menu. Pros: - Attentive, nice staff. - Sizable burger and portion of fries/tots- I ordered the Cougar but it was missing tomato/lettuce/onions/etc (essentially all of the fixings listed on the menu). and had chopped bacon instead. I stupidly did not notice until a few bites in. Our server apologized for the mistake and gave us a free to-go container of banana pudding cheesecake. My partner got something with barbecue sauce (I don't remember the name of it and can't seem to find it on the online menu) but he enjoyed it. - The fries and tots were cooked nicely but I wish there was a little bit more seasoning/some sort of house sauce to pair with it.

If you're cruising around and your hunger gauge hits "E," STP Bar N Grill is the pit stop you need! Ordered the HATCHBACK, and let me tell you, this baby is a turbocharged taste explosion. Imagine a 1/2 lb. Angus burger, already a beast on its own, but then rev it up with roasted New Mexico hatch chiles. I went the extra mile and got an extra patty and extra hatch chiles--because go big or go home, right? The tater tots were the perfect sidekick, crispy and golden, bringing back all the nostalgic feels of school lunch but way, way better. To top it all off, I washed down this culinary joyride with a Hazy IPA. It was the perfect balance to the spicy kick of the hatch chiles, smooth and refreshing. STP Bar N Grill gets my full endorsement. The vibe is chill, the staff is friendly, and the food? Absolutely clutch. Whether you're a burger enthusiast or just looking for a great spot to hang out, this place shifts your dining experience into high gear.Rev your engines and head over to STP Bar N Grill--you won't regret it!

This has got to be one of the best burger and fries meal I had in a while. Got the hellcat burger with a beyond patty and added an egg. Each bite was delicious. The kick of the peppers was just right. Perfect amount of onions and sauce. Also upgraded the fries to the finish line fries. Please do this. You will not regret it. I can't stop thinking about how good it was. Although covered in sauce, they still had a crispy bite to them. If you like gorgonzola, you will love these. Plus, there's extra sauce to dip your burger into. Highly recommend. Will definitely have to come back to try the other burgers and sandwiches.Last but not least, service was amazing. Very friendly and helpful.

This place is a gem. Continuously blowing my mind with what their current specials are. They have an awesome vibe inside, that is clean and comfortable. It's all car based so if you're a hot rod lover you're going to enjoy it. I tried the Chuckwagon burger and it was so delicious. I even bought a shirt that they had for sale. I want everyone to know about this place. Great service and very great selection of beers and wine. Enjoy!

This place is your classic neighborhood bar and grill with a retro atmosphere for all them motor head junkies. STP is a maker of automotive parts and tires, the aforementioned theme of the decor, but it primarily stands for "Shannon and Tina's Place", the owners of the establishment. Clever! The S.O. and I like to come here every now and then to sit at the bar and chat with the workers behind the counter. They have a small draft menu but it is well curated and full of variety. The workers are always full of energy and in good spirits which are all the indicators of a great business. For some reason, I am obsessed with their Sweet Corn Nugs which I relish alongside their massive burgers served with 1/2lb patty and CHOICE ingredients. I often am attracted to the constantly rotating choices on their Specials menu. In addition, they serve your classic American BBQ which is none too bad and are served in massive portions. They have the theme down pat and overall vibes are tremendously cheerful and genuine. They attract a mixed crowd, maybe leaning towards older patrons, the theme mighty attractive to them and likely bringing back fond memories from their youth. In addition to indoor seating, they have an outdoor patio which is very dog friendly.

The food and large portions always feel good to my belly. The beer selection is ok but adequate. The ambiance is perfect for relaxed conversation and an enjoyable night. But the highlight of this night was our server Demi!! This young lady made my entire evening special. I had an important meeting to conduct and she was exceptional. I want to thank the management for having the insight to hire her and recommend everyone ask for her to be your server. Gary Miller

The food was pretty decent, but if I'm being honest, the sampler appetizer was really the star. Fried green beans and corn nuggets and fried pickles omgggggg so good. Highly recommend!

This is a great spot. It's super cute and the decorations are one of a kind and car related, there's so much to see. Jacqueline was my server and she was fantastic with our party. Made great suggestions on food items and gave me a sample of the crazy good chili, which is the best chili I've had, but I did need to add some hot sauce. The burgers are juicy and huge, easy to feed 2 people per plate. The chipotle mayo is so good. We had the sampler appetizer and the fried green beans and corn nuggets were f***ing delicious. We will be back!!! Such a great addition to our little Clairemont community
