I cannot say enough nice things about Zia Ranch and the owners. Every time I have brought my daughter there we are welcomed with open arms and such a sense of family. All three family members, Jim, Debbie and Calyn have personally made every effort to make my daughter's experiences there enjoyable and memorable. Because of them and their program, my daughter went from being scared and crying to not being able to contain her excitement and begging to get back on a horse. This has made me a very happy and proud mom. My daughter trusts each of them and is gaining confidence in not only her riding but in herself with each visit. It is with great pleasure that I am given the chance to watch Debbie and Calyn work with different children and I am able to see the benefits of their program in those children as well. Zia Ranch is such a wonderful place not only for the kids but for the adults too! The grounds are beautiful, the various viewing areas are great and its just as rewarding for me watching the lessons as it is for my daughter. I am grateful for this program and would recommend it to every parent as a great outlet, a confidence booster, and great animal therapy for their kids.

Zia ranch is a gorgeous horse ranch nestled off of Sunset rd, in Brentwood. Once you enter, you're instantly brought into a magical little land for equestrian lovWe've been bringing my 6 year old, Madison to see, Debbie for nearly 2 years now. There are some months we were too busy for lessons, but we always start back as if no time has passed. Debbie is amazing at what she does and allows my daughter the freedom to test her abilities. She's patient, attentive, and works so well with anyone. She takes great care of her horses and Zia ranch. It's always so clean and well kept. My little one looks forward to coming each and every week. The memories we've made there are priceless.

Our Daughter loves riding here; loves the horses; and I love sitting under the willow tree, in that Adirondack chair, while I watch her enjoy her lessons.

My daughter loves Zia Ranch, she is almost 6 and has been going there for about a year. Mrs. Debbie is awesome! She really listens and talks to my daughter to make sure she is completely comfortable with what will be taught during the lesson but she is able to push my daughter a little outside her comfort zone so that she can conquer her goals and keep moving forward. She has been very flexible which is great since my schedule can fluctuate often. If it was up to my daughter she would go to Zia Ranch daily.

When I first found the ranch I was thrilled! It was absolutely beautiful just as I had envisioned for my wedding. Debbie kept in good communication at first. However, my experience quickly went from great to very poor as my wedding got closer and closer.1. I NEVER received a contract like I had asked for in the beginning (which lead to many promises not being kept)2. I was told $1,500: they would provide tables, and hay bales for seating for both ceremony & reception. The week of my wedding I was told I had to pay extra for hay bales to be set up & taken down ($500). Also, they tacked on another $500 because my guest count went from 100-125. (so now $1,000 more than I was originally told). 3. I was also told by Debbie her dogs would be put away during the wedding. Well the day of they refused to put away dogs and the big Great Dane ran out during my ceremony right as I was getting ready to walk out. 4. They also told me the day after I needed to take all the trash bags. 5. When I came to clean up the next morning they had taken ALL of my cans and said they were cashing them in. Which was supposed to go towards out honeymoon. (There was a TON). And due to all the extra expenses that we weren't told about we weren't able to go on a honeymoon.6. They were periodically very rude and other times very nice. Made me feel very unwelcome at times. 7. I had extension cords taken that were mine. The next morning they were mysteriously missing and unplugged from all the lights I had rented.8. I asked when if I could pay via PayPal for remaining $300 owed and I didn't hear back for a month! And she emails me like its my fault when I haven't heard from her.On a positive not I do think they are very nice people, however, I do not think they should consider doing events because the etiquette for it just wasn't there or maybe because I was only they're 2nd or 3rd wedding they have a few kinks to work out.Over all my feelings were just really hurt because I trusted them and I feel like they totally took advantage of me. My wedding was beautiful thanks to all my friends and family who helped out and made things happen for me. However Zia Ranch didn't help with anything but collect a paycheck.

My 5 year old daughter has been riding at Zia Ranch every week for almost a year. Debbie has been absolutely amazing. My daughter can be very timid and shy. She had never been around a horse. Debbie has made her feel so comfortable and confident. Debbie is so patient with her. I have gotten to know her on a personal level over the past year. She truly loves all her students and horses. What makes her such a wonderful instructor is that she is doing what she loves. I can't say enough wonderful things about the program. I love it so much that now I'm taking lessons too!

I have worked as a volunteer and ridden at Zia ranch for just under a year and i have to say that this is one of the best ranches centered around lessons and equine therapy that i have been to. I have grown up ridding and have even taken lessons at Marsh Creek Stables for several years and there is no comparison, Zia is by far the best choice. The owners are very invested and have real and personal relations to their costumers and help them to learn and develop better than I had seen at other local stables. When i read through the reviews i was glad to see many other glowing reviews of the ranch and can say that the only negative review does not properly portray the kind of caring environment Zia ranch has built. If you are looking for a place to take lessons i highly recommend Zia Ranch.

What a wonderful place this is. My granddaughter takes horseback riding lessons at Zia Ranch and I've been there several times to watch. Debbie is such an honest, caring person. All the others that work there are fantastic too. These people do a lot of good things for a lot of kids that wouldn't have the chance otherwise. The grounds are gorgeous and if I was going to have a wedding event, this is the place I'd choose. Honest, nice people. You can trust them.
