We stayed here for two nights. Room was great although a little dated. We had a patio that looked out at the River which was wonderful for our morning coffee. Pool was so refreshing after a long hot day at Yosemite! We were very thankful that the staff gave us a headsup to have a reservation to Yosemite Park for Saturday and Sunday. We did not know this and other than arriving at the park at 5AM so we could get in (NOT!) we opted to check out one day early and the Hotel did not give us any problem and we got a refund!!!

Great lodge accommodations, rooms were clean and spacious. Biggest complaint was the wifi. It was awful especially at $10 a day. I understand its through another company but I feel like some level of responsibility is the establishment. Thankfully we weren't in our room much but just no there is not much cell service and wifi really isnt an option

I always opt for a water view room when available, so I paid extra for the river view when I booked the reservation. But I was not expecting the river to be practically in the room with us! I was overjoyed when we opened the back door to our room and discovered that the Merced River runs wild just feet from our patio.I simply cannot say enough GOOD things about this hotel.First of all, I have been visiting Yosemite since 1983 and have always loved staying inside the Valley at either the Lodge or in the tent cabins or camping in one of the campgrounds. I can't imagine now that I will ever stay inside the Valley again. Yosemite View Lodge is literally 5 minutes from the pay-gate of the park and 15 minutes from Bridalveil Fall. You will pay the same to stay here as you do to stay at the Lodge in the Valley, but Yosemite View Lodge offers many benefits over the valley lodge that make it much better for the price in my opinion. 1) The Merced River! The energy of this wild river flows through the entire Yosemite View Lodge campus and charges the very air with an uplifting electrical current.2) Indoor pool, outdoor pools and hot tubs! There are more pools per person here than you will find anywhere inside the park. The indoor pool means you can swim in winter and the five hot tubs scattered across the property mean soaking to relieve those aching hiking muscles! Two of the hot tubs are right on the river's edge for a spectacular view with your soaking experience.3) Yosemite View Lodge is dog friendly. The only place you can stay inside the Valley with your dog is in the campground.4) Our room had a kitchenette! We cooked in our room and saved a ton of money by not being forced to dine out at every meal! They also have a fine dining restaurant with river view, and offer pizza delivery to the rooms.5) HUGE in-room jacuzzi tub! This hotel also has a super-friendly staff, amazing location and stunning grounds.I do have just a couple of things to critique. I hate to do it because I just LOVE this place and cannot wait to come back and stay again, however I am always truthful in my reviews and these are not small complaints.A note to management: Please, PLEASE get new mattresses! Our bed was terribly uncomfortable and I slept poorly due to it. It's just old and saggy and needs to be replaced as mattresses do. I know that mattresses are expensive, but please spare no expense as a good night's rest is the main purpose of everyone's stay in any hotel. I do NOT think your rooms overpriced for what you offer, but I do know that you charge enough to be able to afford to reinvest in your spectacular property. Your guests LOVE you! Don't we deserve the best you can offer? The toilet seat was not attached to the toilet. Every time I sat down it scooted to one side or the other. I did report this at check out, so hopefully this has been resolved.Everything else about our stay was SPECTACULAR!I want to give them 10 stars, but only 5 are available and I have to take one away for the uncomfortable mattress, though I hate to do so. So really a 9 star stay.Quite pleased. We will return! Can't wait.

This looks like it's a duplicate of this Yosemite View Lodge yelp page. In any case, I give it 5 stars again. You just can't beat the location. https://www.yelp.com/biz/yosemite-view-lodge-el-portal?uid=VzVsgEkIrvsMcrO6xbS5Zg&utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)

PROS: location (close to park), great indoor pool, lots of parking.CONS: the room we stayed in was in awful condition. Wallpaper peeling off, broken bathroom tiles, fridge was broken. With how much they charge I don't understand why they can't update these rooms. Disgusting!

Very quite, tradition, cozy hotel. It's not too far from the parks, and the riverside rooms are so peaceful. Since check-in isn't until 3pm, we decided to head straight to the parks. By the time we got to the hotel, we got a chicken cordon bieu to go; it was very delicious! The dough/crust was a little crispy and fluffy. Got in our room, unwinded and slept like a baby with the sound of the water in the background. Checking in/out was easy, finding parking was crazier, but overall was just right!

Just recently had the pleasure of staying at The Yosemite View Lodge on MLK weekend. It was a great experience. My girlfriend and I stayed in the "King" room which is their more pricey option, but it was well worth the price. The hotel itself is pretty large, and it's spread over a large area, so finding the lobby after nightfall was a little daunting. Seems I was worried for no reason because the lobby is centrally located and very well lit. Parking was never an issue either even though the hotel seemed to be fairly busy and bustling with vacationers. We were able to find a spot near enough to our room. The staff (the only staff we encountered were those at the lobby and restaurant) was pleasant and helpful. Our check in went quick and easy, and we were on our way to our room within 5 minutes. The King room was fairly large. Of course, the bed was a king. It was a little too springy for my taste but I've definitely slept on worse. Bed firmness is all up to personal preference I can't fault them on that. The room also had two arm chairs near the sliding door that led to the patio. No desk though. We had a spa tub in our room but we opted not to use it because the girlfriend was sick so I know not if it was functioning. I assumed it was. There was a fireplace above the spa tub but that definitely not working, as we tried multiple times to get it going to no avail. Sad... Basic TV cable and HBO situation going on. TV was a little on the small side of the scale. Bathroom was very nice and fairly large, but COLD (note: it was January). The heater worked fabulously on the main space of the room though and I actually had to turn it off a few times. Big kudos there! But the absolute best part of our room was the patio and it's view. The Merced river runs the length of the hotel and the rooms are 30 feet away. I don't know if it's the same during the summer, but during our stay the river was RAGING. The sound alone was breath taking. As soon as we saw that view we both decided we would undoubtedly be back again. The hotel also has a convenience store/gift shop and restaurant/bar. The store has everything you would find in any other small general store, including booze . There is also a large souvenir area for the family back home. We didn't actually eat at the restaurant, but we did go to the bar to order a pizza to-go. The process of ordering out of the bar was a bit frustrating because of the amount of tourists trying to do the same thing. It seemed a little disorganized. The pizza however, was great! I would 100% suggest this place to anyone looking to stay at a beautiful location for a fair price. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they charge you 10 dollars a day WiFi for only 2 devices. nowadays free WiFi at a hotel is a gimme. still, I can't wait to find another excuse to book a stay here. Happy travels!

Will definitely recommend at be back here whenever I pay a visit to Yosemite! I enjoyed and was very comfortable with my stay. Room had a cute kitchenette along with pots, pans, utensils, drinking glasses, utensils. More than I expected! Nice fridge too and freezer especially since we brought our own food. I don't recommend buying at park and in the little store because yeah, it's pricey but it's a tourist location too so I get it and expected it soooo bring your food if you don't want to pay lol. The bed was comfy and they changed the sheets and pillow cases everyday. We had a little test and we made sure of it. The bath tub jacuzzi and shower was HUGE. It was meant for two. Not a lot of Channels to watch but that was ok, since we brought board games and laptop to watch movies. You do have to pay for WiFi, and when we used it there was no lag but I also think it's because it was not as busy the time I went , end of March . So many pools and jacuzzis available! If one is full you can just move to the next to one not so crowded. Very close to park with a beautiful patio river view. If ya'll hate noise and can't sleep cuz the water too loud, then river view isn't for you but I loved it . We had a non smoking room and no residue of any smoking or past guests.

Pretty location with rooms that back up to the river. I observed woodland critters such as squirrels and crows, though many appeared to be fighting over a plethora of trash scattered along the paved walkway which is between balconies and riverbank. Yosemite View Lodge seems to be a destination that hosts many foreign visitors, especially Asians...many of whom were chain smoking cigarettes...then tossing butts amongst landscaping along the riverbank. We had requested a room that was 2nd or 3rd floor, NOT ground floor and told that would be no problem...however, upon arrival we were given a ground floor and told there were no other options. The room had a fireplace and was cozy, however seemed a bit beat up....for example, bathroom molding was broken/missing in places and water from toilet tank ran continuously requiring the handle to be jiggled to make it stop. There was also a general mustiness to the room, and mold was apparent at top of walls in the bathroom. There is a restaurant on site which we ordered pizza from. Pizza was decent, though nothing spectacular, and inadequate seating left my starving wife, daughter, and myself unable to find a table that was free for 5-10 minutes or so once we had pizza in hand. Once a table became available outside, and we were able to scavenge up 3 chairs to sit in, we scooted the table away from the bushes slightly since there were Black Widow spider webs brushing against our legs, and proceeded to eat. There is a game room onsite for the kids to hang out and play games like air hockey, billiards, etc...my wife commented that it stunk really bad in there, like "puberty and sweat"...so we decided to avoid the game room and pick up litter along the river walkway instead. The noteworthy part of this review is as follows (copied from credit card dispute settlement documentation): When I originally called Yosemite View Lodge, I had been shopping for the best room price among Hotels.com, Booking.com, Expedia.com, etc... I called the lodge to inquire about a fold out bed. While on the phone I noticed best online prices including taxes/resort fees totaling approximately $247. I asked the desk person if they had a better price, which they replied that they did. The price they gave me, including taxes/resort fees, was approximately $20 cheaper... so I agreed, provided credit card info, and was told I would not be charged until checkout. Our overnight stay at Yosemite View Lodge was on Sunday night, 07/03/22-07/04/22. Fast forward to checkout...I was merely handed a receipt, without first having a chance to review charges. They had charged over $100 more than the previously agreed upon amount...which I politely brought to their attention. They then asked the name of the person I'd spoken with on the phone. I replied that I couldn't remember, and commented that they should probably have that information in their computer system. The desk attendant looked at me as though I were lying, and told me there was nothing they could do about it...and they only have 1 price, which was simply not true. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told (with a smirk) that there is no manager present. When I asked when a manager would be present I was told "later that afternoon", and blown off. My family and I had planned to spend the day in Yosemite National Park, and would not be around when the manager was to be present later that afternoon. I became frustrated that I couldn't sort the issue out, as they wouldn't even attempt to listen to me and just kept looking past me to the next person in line while not trying to resolve my issue. Everything went downhill from there. I got into a heated argument with the desk person as he ignored my concerns, and then left when they threatened to call the sheriff.I called the manager, Luise, later that afternoon, on 07/04/22, to resolve the issue and request a credit of $100. As soon as he got on the phone and connected who I was with that mornings' argument at the front desk, he immediately cut me off to tell me how he's "gonna make it real simple and tell me how it is". He refused to hear me as I calmly tried to voice my issue and explain what the discrepancy was in the first place. I gave up and told him "That's fine, I'll just take it to Yelp (reviews)". He told me not to call back & I'd be hearing from local authorities over calling the employee a profanity/derogatory name earlier that morning (this had come out of my complete frustration with their lack of professionalism). I did not end up hearing from any authorities, nor was I concerned over the threat, as I felt strongly that Yosemite View Lodge was in the wrong. The fact that they had grossly overcharged me so much more thanwhat had been agreed upon was especially aggravating because there were other much cheaper options online that I was originally looking at, and getting ready to book, when I was told they could save me approximately $20 and swayed to book through them.

I'm agree with Cindy C comments!Restaurants and store prices are ok, but if you want a save money, bring your own food, beverage and snacks, price on hotel's store are ok. Be prepared no cell signal and no wifi, but you can pay for wifi service 10 dlls per 24hrs for two devices, if you pay on your device you don't have the 48 hrs option, only if you buy it with cash inside the lobby.
