We rented a U-Haul and received fantastic customer service. Super efficient and courteous. Highly recommend.

I can not speak highly enough of Mike and his family! The customer service was outstanding, the RV was perfect for our family trip to Arizona and Utah. It is a family run business and the little personal touches are very evident. Our friends are all jealous of our photos and are desperate to do an RV trip themselves. We'll definitely be sending them this way, and can't wait for our next trip in one of Mikes RVs!

James helped me book the appointment and he was very helpful and professional. Everything was ready when I picked it up. The truck was super clean and easy to drive. The staff was super helpful. Returning was a seamless process. Highly recommended.

It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Mike. Super friendly and went over all details and costs regarding my u-haul rental. U-haul was already clean for pick up but he took the time to clean out the little bit of leaves and dirt left in the back. Excellent customer service A+++++

Most of my UHaul experiences involve small businesses trying to make some extra side cash (but not putting any effort or attention into being a topnotch rental yard) and/or employees that seem absolutely miserable. Renting from Windy Flat was the exact opposite of that experience in every way.The vehicles are super clean, and previous damage is actually noted meticulously so you don't have to wonder if you'll be charged for the tiny knick you see on your walkthrough. They have tons of space for their vehicles, so there's no weird issues with driving big trucks through shared parking lots or having the employee ask you to follow them in your car to a second lot to grab your truck (a real past experience btw). And most importantly, the people who run this location are absolutely incredible. We showed up when the office opened and, due to Uhaul's system error, were waiting for a bit before we could check out. Not only was this painless, it was borderline enjoyable, lol. The people helping us were kind, apologetic (despite this being no fault of their own), and just straight up pleasant. When we unexpectedly had to adjust our reservation later on, they helped us eagerly and competently, and even took a moment from absolutely crushing it at their jobs to check how we were doing personally.At this point I am gushing about van rental, so to wrap this up and reiterate: Windy Flat RV Center is a fantastic business of any kind. When compared to the average UHaul dealer, they are simply unparalleled. I would recommend anyone in the East Bay use this location, even if it means a few extra miles on your invoice. You won't regret it.Oh and one thing I left out of my Google review: DOGS!! THEY HAVE ADORABLE DOGS THERE TOO! What else could you possibly want? Go there now, rent something, who cares if you even need it. Dogs.Thank you all so much for everything, you've got a customer for life.

This is our 1st time renting an RV & thanks to Mike & his staff the RV performed perfectly with no problems thru out the entire trip. Mike took his time to walk us thru to make sure we knew how to operate everything & also gave us a few tips that the cruise america videos didn't show. The staff was very friendly & courteous & if we had questions they didn't hesitate to explain. We never had to call for any help. I was a little nervous but as soon as we started out I was comfortable driving it right away. We went to Vegas 1st & then on to Grand Canyon. RVeeing is the way best way to enjoy the scenic views. So relaxing & in no hurry to do anything. Having our own bathroom was the best especially for my 5 yr old grand daughter. The only issues we had was driving in high windy areas. You'll get tossed around so you have to really slow down. My family enjoyed the trip so much they are already talking about doing it again but maybe go north. Thanks Mike & to your staff for a great memorable vacation!

Windy Flat RV is a family owned business and it shows. This place was fantastic. I rented a CruiseAmerica RV here for a family vacation and Mike and the entire crew were great. Mike walked me through everything on the RV so I felt confident in its workings before leaving on my trip. He was friendly and informative as was the rest of the staff. He and his staff also kept this attitude with every other person I saw using their services in the times I visited their office.The morning my family and I were to depart on our trip, our parked RV was hit by a drunk driver at 2:00am, totaling the rear of the vehicle. We were completely stressed out about whether we'd need to cancel or delay our trip but Mike went above and beyond to make sure we had a replacement vehicle later that day. I don't feel Windy Flat RV Center could've been any better, they were just that good. Definitely check them out for your next RV rental needs. I certainly will.And as a side note for women renters out there, as a woman I felt no discrimination or condescension here whatsoever and was always treated with respect. This is just a great place.

Hands down the worst experience renting a vehicle ever. We picked up a 20ft. RV for a 2000 mile trip through the sierras to Spokane and could only go 40 miles an hour due to the relentless shaking of the vehicle. Tread came off one of the tires and we were stuck on the side of the road for hours in the middle of nowhere. The tow truck driver insisted we get 2 other tires changed since they were all warped badly, so we parked the vehicle for several days until Cruise America could find us replacement tires. We had to drive over an hour out of the way to have the other tires changed because they wanted a specific brand of tire. Roadside assistance told us we would be compensated for damages, but when we returned the vehicle and filed complaints we found out otherwise. Since the vehicle didn't have a 'mechanical breakdown' we would not be compensated for anything. Not even the gas or mileage used to fix their vehicle, not all of the reservations we missed because we could not make it on time, not even the days we couldn't drive the vehicle. Additionally, the unyielding shaking caused by the warped tires caused my elderly mother to lose consciousness, it also damaged an expensive bike we had secured to the RV. Cruise America and Windy Flats will forever be my horror story when it come to vehicle rentals. Spare yourself and do NOT do business with these people.
