Windmill Cove Bar & Grill

I recommend this place because of the outdoor seating. Also, the bartender lady was extremely nice. The food was average, definitely would return. Sitting on the water just sets the vibe! It's kind of in the boondocks and you'll have to travel down a bumpy dirt road. Because of that I would take away one star.

Lets face it, when you're out on the water you're out to have a fun. My family and I went out of our way to visit Windmill Cove on one late Sunday afternoon 8.18.24. We found that the staff at this, of what seemed to be a happening place, were more interested in servicing their regulars and wouldn't give us the time of day. The bar tender had a Macho attitude and deliberately ignored me while I waited to ask questions about food service. He was more interested in talking to regulars about personal things while I had to waited and wasn't even acknowledged. I was standing in front of him!! The service here sucks! They have no idea how to treat new patrons. The general feeling is the wait staff here is full of themselves. I must admit I did catch the attention of the cooks in the kitchen and they seemed warm and friendly.THE WAIT STAFF HAD ONE TIME TO GET IT RIGHT FOR A FAMILY OF FRIENDLY NEW COMERS AND THEY COULDN'T GIVE US THE TIME OF DAY!FAMILIES ARE NOT WELCOMED HERE!!!

Perfect place to get away for a bit, enjoying the views of the San Joaquin River and people enjoying themselves on their boats and jet skis. Food is good, service is great.

Didn't care for the nachos. service was great though. Band was great.Ambience was good.

Love to hangout here to get some food and drinks and spend the night at the boats. And listen some music.

Great atmosphere, watching live music and people running boats up and down the inlet.

Food was not good, tequila selection is extremely limited but the bartender was nice. It was sad to see the owner so disrespectful to her Hispanic staff. She was so rude that I refuse to contribute to a business owner like that. The ambiance was nice considering there weren't very many dining at the time and it was close to the water. I take character seriously and that lady was not a nice person so we do not recommend this establishment.

Some of the worst tacos I've ever had tortillas were hella old and cold only thing edible was the birria taco. No more crunchy taco is the only reason I came I def won't be back

Nov is slow season at Windmill Cove. No boaters to watch. This is a hidden gem. Everyone, staff and customers were friendly. The upstairs decor was right on, along with the water ways on both of the restaurant. The food was made downstairs and brought up to us. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were soft, the veggies crisp and the garlic toast was the best I've had. I'll have to try it during the summer.
