Waffle Cafe

It's a BIG restaurant with tons of people and big meals! Very much like other diners that offer tons of food for a reasonable price. There seemed to be a lot of servers on this Sunday midday morning. But, we still had difficulty getting their attention without having to get up and wave someone down. One seated us, one brought coffee/water, another took our orders, and yet another brought the food out....a busy restaurant like this needs to have the staff working cohesively like a machine. That wasn't happening today. Too much confusion as to who was or has done what.Anyway, our meals did get out to us, if not in several trips, and it was all quite good especially the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were a perfectly light and the gravy rich and just nicely done, as was the chicken fried steak. This is a good place to go for some good 'basic' breakfast/brunch food at a good price. And, yes, you get enough that you could easily split with someone or take half of it home for later.

Like others have mentioned this is an old-time diner that has been in this location for years with pretty much the same staff and repeat customers. Place is large, we've gone there when it's been busy and when it's slow and the service is always efficient and friendly. Prices are also good and portion sizes are large.We like that the meats are good quality, ham, bacon, and sausage. We've tried just about all the diners in Manteca and their bacon and breakfast sausage is the best. Even when we ordered the mini or light entrées, we still end up taking leftovers home. We also like the pancakes which are huge and fluffy.

Sunday morning and the place was crazy as usual. Great service as always and the food is so good! Got the Country Omelette which is huge along with their country potatoes. My wife got the Enchilada Omelette. Food is delicious with large portions and the staff are always friendly even when it's this busy. Only complaint is it's always just a little too warm inside...need to crank up their fans or get that a/c running a bit. Old school diner/cafe vibe...but place was clean as always.

WOW, we were camping at French Camp RV Resort and wanted a good breakfast. My brother in law remembers a place near the Moose Lodge down the road, we set out to find it and run into this place. I am so glad we did! Excellent service and the food was fantastic! Good piping hot coffee too! I had the country scramble and it was very good! We will be back!

Awesome place for breakfast or lunch! Grabbed lunch today and met the owner Billy. Ordered the corned beef and hash and a side of the French toast. Food was great, came out quick, and the waitress was delightful. Fair process on the food. Plenty of seating in the cafe along with plenty of parking.

Great friendly service. The place was packed but are food came out timely and warm. Portion to price was fair and we will return.

Classic breakfast food and service. Has that old school ambiance as well from my childhood. Can get nice and busy too which offers good energy.

Ehhhh it was meh. The last time i came here was yearssss ago. And it was okay. Nothings really changed. The food is mediocre, would rather go to Dennys. The service is always good. The seating also hasnt been restored in a long time so you just sink into the cushions. Overall an okay visit.

Came in today as usual to sit down to eat a waffle. The waiters usually say sit any where but today the waiter walks up and says what can I get you TO GO. I didn't like that. At least ask me for here or to go. I may be black but I'm clean and leave at least a $1 tip. I'm not coming back if I don't recognize the waitresses. There some cool ones but on 6/22/2024 two out of three here need to do warehouse work. The two waiters in the back ain't cool. The one working the tables was nice. I got my food to go. I wish the other waitress. would have approached me first.

My husband and I go here on average once a week, sometimes twice. We usually split the ortega omelette. We love our server Lori and always request her. It's our favorite local breakfast place.
